Abstract

The study aims to assess the readiness of primary schools in Indonesia to effectively implement the Independent Curriculum, a recent education reform designed to promote flexibility and student-centered learning. Because the success of curriculum implementation depends on a variety of school-level factors, measuring institutional readiness is essential to ensure effective educational change. The research uses observation, interview, and comparative qualitative study methods to provide a comprehensive analysis of school readiness. This study involved 8 (eight) elementary schools, but differed in regional character, socio-economy, and student characteristics. Data collection methods included: (1) validated school readiness questionnaires given to principals and teachers of grades 1, 2, 4 and 5, who run an independent curriculum, (2) on-site observations of school infrastructure and resources, and (3) interviews with key stakeholders. The school readiness framework includes five dimensions: Achievement of Curriculum Aspects, Impact of the Implementation of the Independent Curriculum, Obstacles in the Independent Curriculum and Indicators of Necessary Interventions in the Independent Curriculum. In the Readiness Area that needs attention, among others, 75% of schools need to improve competence in learning and assessment, need to improve skills in teaching differentiated learning, and 50% of schools need to improve competence in the field of ICT. In terms of resources and infrastructure, schools need adequate availability of 37.5%, and then need academic support of 25% in the request for optimization of supervision assistance

Abstract

Education aims to achieve the highest levels of intellectual, emotional, social, and physical achievement. This type of science subject includes a variety of subjects that study various natural and man-made phenomena. The study of natural sciences is usually divided into several subfields, including physics, chemistry, and biology. Classroom action research aims to identify learning process problems, plan appropriate corrective actions, implement these actions, and analyze the results. Classroom learning combines students' cognitive, emotional and psychomotor aspects. Teachers must be able to assess these three dimensions of learning outcomes objectively, because the personality of each student is different from these three dimensions. The demonstration learning method is a teacher's teaching method that provides examples or direct demonstrations of how a concept or skill should be implemented. According to data analysis, learning outcomes in science learning increased throughout Cycle I and then Cycle II. From the I cycle, the I meeting was 52%, the student completion rate increased by 13% in Cycle I to 65% at the second meeting. In Cycle II, the completion rate resulted in a 71% increase over meeting I 22,5% and at meeting II it was 93,5%. In Cycles I and II, the completion rates were 80,5% and 96,5% respectively, which was an increase of 16% from the average of the previous year's cycle.

Abstract

Learning outcomes are an important aspect in education, because student learning outcomes are used as a starting point for learning activities during students at school. This study was motivated by the low or lack of science learning outcomes of grade IV students of SDN Kembangan Selatan 03 on the material of forces around us. The purpose of this study was to improve students' science learning outcomes on the material of forces around us by using one of the approaches in learning, namely the Scientific Approach. The data analysis technique used was Classroom Action Research which in each cycle includes design, implementation, observation and reflection activities. The results of this study indicate that the application of learning strategies using a scientific approach can improve students' science learning outcomes, as evidenced by the increase in the completion of learning outcomes in each cycle, the completion of students' learning outcomes in cycle 1 meeting II was 83.8% with the number of students' completion whose scores were above the KKTP as many as 26 students. Meanwhile, the completion of the science learning outcomes of students in cycle 2 meeting II was 93.5% with the number of students whose scores were above the KKTP as many as 29 students. After the calculation in cycle I, the results of the science learning of students in meeting 2 were 72% and the average results of teacher activity observations in cycle 1 meeting II were 80%. Meanwhile, the average for cycle 2 meeting 2 was 91% and the average results of teacher activity observations in cycle 2 meeting 2 were 92%, where there was an increase in each cycle. Thus, the increase in the learning process can be seen from the enthusiasm of students to learn which became active after the teacher introduced the scientific approach.

Abstract

This research aims to improve students' science learning outcomes on food chain materials by using differentiated learning. Differentiated learning is learning that accommodates the diverse needs of students. This research was conducted using the Kemmis & Mc Taggart model Class Action Research (PTK) method which will be used in two cycles, including planning, implementation, observation, and reflection activities. The subjects of this study are 30 students of class V of SDN Tegal Alur 20 Petang. The results of this study prove that differentiated learning can improve student learning outcomes in science learning, this can be proven from the completeness in each cycle. The first cycle activity with the results of student pretest scores of 77% and posttest scores to 67% is due to a decrease of around 10% in student learning outcomes. However, in the second cycle, the pretest score was 80% and the posttest score was 97%, this was due to an increase of around 17%. This can prove that every meeting in both cycle I and cycle II has increased. Although it does not increase overall, this can be proven that in the learning process that has been carried out, it can be seen from the enthusiasm of students to learn and learning is a fun thing with teachers introducing differentiated learning in places where students learn actively and creatively, it can be said that differentiated learning can improve science learning outcomes.

Abstract

Learning in elementary schools generally still focuses on classroom activities using monotonous lecture methods. This condition makes students less motivated and difficult to connect theory with real experiences. Therefore, alternative learning methods that are contextual, interactive, and fun are needed. One relevant approach is outdoor learning, which is learning activities outside the classroom that utilize the environment as a learning resource. Gardening was chosen as the medium because it integrates cognitive, affective, and psychomotor aspects while fostering environmental awareness. The purpose of this study was to describe the application of the outdoor learning method in gardening activities and to identify its impact on the development of elementary school students at PKBM Tunas Bangsa. The research used a descriptive qualitative approach with research subjects consisting of 1 tutor and 4 students aged 9–11 years. Data was collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis used the Miles & Huberman model, which includes data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing, and data validity was strengthened by triangulation of sources and techniques. The results of the study show that gardening activities with an outdoor learning approach make students more enthusiastic, active, and able to connect theory with real practice. This activity improves understanding of science and the environment, develops motor skills, and fosters positive character traits such as responsibility, discipline, cooperation, and concern for the environment. Thus, the outdoor learning method has proven to be an effective alternative learning strategy for elementary school students, both in formal and non-formal education contexts.
