Abstract

This study aims to determine how the influence of political participation on novice voters ahead of the 2024 general election at Pasundan 1 Cimahi High School. The author is a quantitative researcher with a survey methodology. The instrument the author uses is a questionnaire of political participation and novice voters. The population in this study was Pasundan 1 Cimahi High School students who were 17 years old at the time of the general election, which was based on the General Election Law Chapter IV Article 198 Paragraph 1, as novice voters. The sample used amounted to 56 samples from a population of 129, with the sampling technique used being probability sampling with a simple random sampling type. Based on the results of research and discussion, it can be concluded that political participation has a significant influence on novice voters, as seen from the level of relationship between variable X, political participation, and variable Y, novice voters, which is declared "strong" because it is in the coefficient interval 0.645 - 0.799. The higher the level of political participation, the more likely novice voters are to participate in elections and make more informed political decisions.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatar belakangi oleh masih terdapat nilai hasil belajar siswa SMA yang belum sesuai harapan. Siswa yang mengikuti kegiatan pembelajaran di sekolah tentunya mengharapkan hasil pembelajaran yang maksimal sehingga disiplin belajar dan komunikasi interpersonal harus di perhatikan dalam menentukan hasil belajar siswa. Penelitian ini bertujuan (1) untuk menguji seberapa besar pengaruh yang signifikan antara disiplin belajar terhadap hasil belajar siswa SMA yang beryayasan Buddha di Sumatera Utara. (2) untuk menguji seberapa besar pengaruh yang signifikan komunikasi interpersonal terhadap hasil belajar siswa SMA yang beryayasan Buddha di Sumatera Utara. (3) untuk mengetahui sebarapa besar adanya yang signifikan bersama-sama disiplin belajar dan komunikasi interpersona terhadap hasil belajar siswa SMA yang beryayasan Buddha di Sumatera Utara.

Abstract

Background: Ventral hernia repair (VHR) is a common surgical procedure, but it carries a high risk of wound complications. These complications can significantly impact patient quality of life, increase hospital costs, and raise the risk of hernia recurrence. Negative pressure wound therapy (NPWT) has emerged as a potential solution to reduce these complications, particularly when applied to closed surgical incisions (iNPWT). Methods: A comprehensive literature search was conducted to identify studies comparing iNPWT with standard wound dressings in VHR patients. Data were extracted and synthesized from the included studies to assess the impact of iNPWT on these outcomes. Results: iNPWT significantly reduced the incidence of both SSO and SSI compared to conventional wound dressings. The use of iNPWT did not significantly affect LOS, and no serious adverse effects were reported. Conclusion: iNPWT is effective in reducing postoperative wound complications, particularly SSO and SSI, in patients undergoing open VHR. While the reduction in hernia recurrence was not significant, iNPWT's overall benefits make it a valuable addition to postoperative care. Future research should focus on large, randomized controlled trials to further validate these findings and explore the long-term benefits and cost-effectiveness of iNPWT in diverse patient populations.

Abstract

The objective of this study is to examine and analyze articles concerning the strategies used in developing speaking skills published in between 2018 to 2023. This research employs library research methodology, which involves using library sources to gather and analyze data. The research results shows that the strategies used in developing speaking skills are Communication Strategies, Task-Based Approaches, Role-Play, and Technology-Enhanced Approaches and the most frequently used strategies are Role-Play, and Technology-Enhanced Approaches. To implement the two most frequent strategies used, educators need a careful planning and consideration. They should introduce concepts, select relevant content, and provide clear instructions. Technology can enhance authenticity and engagement in speaking activities by utilizing tools like YouTube, digital storytelling, or educational comics. In conclusion, this research provides valuable insights into the strategies employed to develop speaking skills.

Abstract

Salah satu permasalahan terpenting terkait sampah di Indonesia adalah tentang kesadaran dan kebiasaan masyarakat terhadap sampah. Sistem pengelolaan yang menyeluruh dan berkesinambungan harus diterapkan untuk mengurangi dan menangani permasalahan yang ditimbulkan dari sampah. Oleh karena itu diperlukan pengelolaan sampah yang baik agar masalah sampah dapat teratasi, termasuk di Kolam Retensi Boulevard, Kelurahan lepo-lepo, Kec. Baruga, Kota Kendari. Dalam pengelolaan sampah, diperlukan peningkatan kesadaran dan partisipasi masyarakat dengan membentuk kesadaran untuk memilah sampah. Metode penelitian melibatkan 15 siswa yang akan turun langsung ke Kolam Retensi Jalan Boulevard, Kelurahan Lepo-Lepo, Kecamatan Baruga, Kota Kendari. Kegiatan ini bertujuan untuk membersihkan retensi kolam serta memberikan edukasi kepada masyarakat yang menjadikan kolam tersebut sebagai tempat berolahraga dan rekreasi. Hasil penelitian ini melalui aksi bersih-bersih dan edukasi melalui poster, siswa berhasil membersihkan area retensi kolam dan memberikan informasi tentang dampak polusi negatif dan pengelolaan sampah dengan 5R.

Abstract

This Research discusses the development of a teaching aid using animated videos based on the KineMaster application for vocational subjects for eighth-grade students at the Valuvo State Secondary School. The objectives of this study are: to test the results of developing a teaching aid with 3D animated videos based on the KineMaster application for vocational subjects for eighth-grade students at the Valuvo State Secondary School; and to test the practical application of the developed teaching aid using 3D animated videos based on the KineMaster application for vocational subjects. This study employs the research and development (R&D) method using the 4-D research model, consisting of four stages: (1) Define, (2) Design, (3) Develop, and (4) Disseminate. This research was conducted on eighth-grade students at the Valuvo State Secondary School, with 30 students participating from June to July 2023, to test the practical application of the 3D animated educational video. The results of this development are: (1) the development of a teaching aid with 3D animated videos based on the KineMaster application for vocational subjects, and (2) the validity level of the developed teaching aid with 3D animated videos based on the KineMaster application in eighth grade. According to the results of validation by media experts, the validity score was 90%, categorized as very valid; the validation by subject matter experts scored 95%, also categorized as very valid. Meanwhile, to determine the practical application level of the educational videos in this study, student assessment sheets were used, resulting in a score of 91.2%, categorized as very practical.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of implementing the Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) model in improving the learning process and outcomes of Natural and Social Sciences (IPAS) in elementary school students. The method used is Classroom Action Research (CAR) conducted in two cycles, each covering the stages of planning, implementation of actions, observation, and reflection. The research subjects consisted of 12 fifth-grade students at Muhammadiyah Muara Bungo Elementary School, with the researcher acting as the teacher and assisted by two observers. Data were collected using qualitative techniques in the form of observation sheets and quantitative techniques in the form of learning outcome tests. The results showed that the application of CTL was able to improve the implementation of learning and student learning outcomes. Teacher observation increased from 71.42% in cycle I to 84.37% in cycle II, while student observation increased from 58% to 79%. The improvement in student learning outcomes was also significant, from 41.66% in cycle I to 83.33% in cycle II. These findings indicate that the CTL model can be an effective alternative learning strategy to improve the quality of the learning process and academic achievement of students in IPAS subjects. The implications of this study encourage the wider application of CTL as an innovative effort in contextual experience-based learning in elementary schools.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi kinerja paving block hidrolik berdasarkan variasi komposisi semen, pasir, dan kerikil, mengacu pada SNI 03-0691-1996. Empat variasi campuran diuji, masing-masing menggunakan perbandingan material yang berbeda, dengan pengujian utama meliputi kuat tekan dan daya serap air pada umur 28 hari. Seluruh spesimen dicetak dalam dimensi 20 cm × 10 cm × 8 cm dan dirawat selama 28 hari menggunakan metode perawatan basah. Hasil pengujian menunjukkan bahwa Tipe 2 N-TS menghasilkan performa terbaik dengan kuat tekan 11,90 N/mm² dan daya serap 4,99%, diikuti oleh Tipe 1 N-TS dengan kuat tekan 11,596 N/mm² dan daya serap 5,44%. Kedua variasi tersebut memenuhi standar mutu kelas D dan menunjukkan daya serap yang tergolong dalam kategori mutu B. Sebaliknya, Tipe 3 N-TS dan N-TS tidak memenuhi persyaratan mutu minimum karena nilai kuat tekan di bawah 10 MPa. Secara umum, terdapat hubungan negatif antara daya serap air dan kuat tekan, di mana campuran dengan porositas lebih rendah menunjukkan kekuatan yang lebih tinggi. Hasil ini menegaskan pentingnya desain komposisi campuran dalam meningkatkan kinerja struktural dan durabilitas paving block untuk aplikasi konstruksi ringan.

Abstract

This community service activity aims to strengthen the governance of Talaka Village through the application of good governance principles by increasing legal awareness and community participation. The problem faced is the incompatibility between the ideal norm of public participation as stipulated in laws and regulations and the reality in the field which is still formalistic and has minimal community involvement. To overcome these problems, the method used in this service is qualitative legal research with a Participatory Rural Appraisal (PRA) approach. The results of the service show that the practice of community participation in village governance is still administrative and symbolic, influenced by limited access to public information and weak communication mechanisms between apparatus and residents. Through PRA-based legal socialization, there is an increase in participant involvement in discussions, the growth of community legal awareness, and the opening of a more equal dialogue space between village officials and the community. Thus, this service contributes to strengthening the capacity of the apparatus and encouraging the creation of more participatory, transparent, and sustainable governance at the local level.

Abstract

Pengembangan usaha mahasiswa melalui Program Kreativitas Mahasiswa (PKM) merupakan salah satu upaya strategis untuk meningkatkan kompetensi kewirausahaan di lingkungan perguruan tinggi. Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh pentingnya proses pembelajaran berbasis pengalaman dalam membentuk kemampuan inovasi, perencanaan bisnis, dan adaptasi terhadap dinamika pasar. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah menganalisis perjalanan pengembangan usaha Kedai Nasaa Rasa sebagai salah satu wirausaha mahasiswa yang dikembangkan melalui program PKM, dengan fokus pada proses bimbingan, strategi implementasi, pengalaman lapangan, serta evaluasi usaha. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan deskriptif, di mana data diperoleh melalui observasi, wawancara semi-terstruktur, dan dokumentasi aktivitas tim selama pelaksanaan program. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pengembangan usaha berlangsung melalui tahapan bertahap yang mencakup perumusan ide, penyusunan proposal, penjualan awal produk, evaluasi, dan ekspansi penjualan. Setiap tahap memberikan pengalaman penting yang meningkatkan kemampuan tim dalam memahami pasar, memperbaiki kualitas produk, dan menyesuaikan strategi bisnis. Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa PKM berperan signifikan dalam memberikan pengalaman praktik kewirausahaan yang mendorong kreativitas, kemampuan evaluatif, serta keterampilan manajerial mahasiswa. Temuan ini memiliki implikasi bagi pengembangan program kewirausahaan kampus agar lebih menekankan proses pendampingan dan pengalaman lapangan untuk memperkuat keberhasilan usaha mahasiswa.
