Abstract

This study was aimed at generating the empirical data on the effectiveness difference between Adlerian Group Play Counseling (AGPC) intervention and classical guidance service in improving interpersonal attractiveness based on the social relationship profile. This study was categorized as an experimental study with factorial design. The sample of this study comprised the fifth-grade students of Sukasenang Elementary School and Cihaurgeulis Elementary School. Interpersonal attractiveness questionnaire and sociometry emerged as the instruments of this study. The data were analyzed by using two-way analysis of variance. The result of this study demonstrated that AGPC intervention was more effective than the classroom guidance activity in improving all interpersonal attractiveness categories. The school counselor may utilize the result of this study as an alternative strategy to improve students’ interpersonal attractiveness.

Abstract

As explained, personal responsibility is an individual's skills in taking responsibility for all decisions and actions and the results and impacts on others. A sense of responsibility can affect student academic achievement, so having a sense of personal responsibility, especially in the learning process, becomes important. Personal or personal responsibility can be developed through self-regulated learning and learning autonomy. So, this study aims to determine whether there is a correlation between personal responsibility with self-regulated learning and learning autonomy. The method used in this study is quantitative with a correlational type of research involving 141 students from semester 2 to semester ten aged 18 to 24 years. The data collection technique uses three instruments (personal responsibility, self-regulated learning, and autonomy learning). This study's results indicate a correlation between the three variables, namely personal responsibility, self-regulated learning, and autonomy learning (p> 0.000). The existence of this relationship shows that it is important for students to cultivate personal responsibility so that they can manage the learning process without depending on others (independently).

Abstract

The home industry is the backbone of the development of MSMEs in Indonesia which is growing quite rapidly so that it has a positive impact on strengthening the economy, both at the regional and national levels. The production of emping melinjo UMKM has emerged in Giriasih Village, Gunungkidul, the emping melinjo business actors are dominated by housewives with the majority of junior high and high school education levels. The limited ability and minimal knowledge and skills possessed by the emping melinjo business actors in developing the business, the emping melinjo industry which should have been able to become a superior product of local MSMEs, has not been able to develop properly, this is the background to this community service being carried out in Giriasih Village. The goal to be achieved in this community service is to provide assistance to emping melinjo industry actors in making product packaging and managing business legality. The implementation of this community service activity uses stages and methods of service starting from counseling, training and assistance for emping melinjo business actors. The output of this community service includes mandatory outputs in the form of journal article publications and additional outputs in the form of packaging design documents and business legality as well as national seminars on the results of community service.

Abstract

Career decisions impact an individual's success and satisfaction in their career. Various factors can hinder teenagers' career decision-making, affecting their future career paths. This research aims to produce career guidance based on Krumboltz's social learning theory that is effective for developing students' career decisions. This research is quantitative research using a positivism paradigm with a quasi-experimental design experimental method. Participants in this research involved 493 people, namely class XI high school students, guidance and counseling expert lecturers, and high school guidance and counseling teachers. Sample selection was carried out using a purposive sampling technique taken based on the class with the lowest score through data collection using an instrument in the form of a career decision questionnaire that had been developed and tested rationally. The data analysis technique used is inferential statistics with the non-parametric statistical testing technique Mann Whitney u test. The research results show a sign value (2-tailed) of 0.008<0.05, which means that career guidance based on Krumboltz's social learning theory is effective for developing students' career decisions. It can be concluded that career guidance based on Krumboltz's social learning theory to develop students' career decisions can be used in career guidance in high school. The principles of Krumboltz's theory in a context that has never been explored before, provide a new perspective that shows novelty in the career guidance approach. This research implies that Guidance and Counseling teachers can apply Krumboltz's social learning theory in career guidance to assist students in making career decisions.

Abstract

This study explores the effectiveness of mindfulness-based cognitive behavioral interventions in developing academic buoyancy among students, defined as their capacity to overcome daily academic challenges such as stress, time pressure, and minor failures. Using a meta-analytic approach, the research synthesizes findings from 15 independent studies involving 4,509 participants across diverse educational contexts, including the United States, Canada, Iran, and the United Kingdom. The random effects model revealed a significant positive correlation between mindfulness interventions and academic buoyancy, with a high effect size. The findings underscore the potential of mindfulness integrated with cognitive behavioral therapy to enhance students' resilience by reducing stress and improving executive functions such as emotional regulation, attention, and decision-making. Despite its demonstrated effectiveness, heterogeneity in study designs, intervention durations, and measurement tools suggests the need for further research to refine and standardize these interventions. This study provides evidence-based insights for educators and counselors aiming to integrate mindfulness practices into academic settings, contributing to the broader discourse on mental health and educational resilience.

Abstract

The development of optimal cognition is an important factor in student learning and personal development. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of counseling services using a Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) approach in optimizing students' cognitive development. A comprehensive search was conducted using the Taylor & Francis, ScienceDirect, Mendeley, and Google Scholar databases, yielding a total of 70 results. From this number, 20 articles met the exclusion criteria and were deemed feasible, with 13 final studies selected based on the established inclusion criteria. The results of the random effects analysis show a significant positive relationship between the Cognitive Behavior Therapy approach and students’ cognitive development (z = 4.083, p < .001). Abstract

School counseling accountability has transformed from simply counting counselor activity to being data and evidence-based to demonstrate impact on student success. However, few accountability scales have been developed specifically for school counselors. This study aims to test the reliability and validity of the school counselor accountability scale using the Rasch model. The scale developed included six key indicators: aligning the mission of the counseling program with the school mission (mission), ), identify critical student data (element), analyzing data (analysis), uniting with stakeholders to plan action (stakeholder unite), collecting results (result), and reporting results (educate). This study involved an initial sample of 78 Semarang city school counselors who are members of the Consultation of Guidance and Counseling Teachers (MGBK). The results of the analysis showed that the item reliability index on the accountability scale reached 0.88, while the respondent reliability was 0.97, with a Cronbach's alpha value of 0.98, indicating very high internal consistency. In addition, the unidimensionality test showed that the variance explained by the model was 39%, well above the minimum threshold of 20%, indicating that the scale is able to measure one clear construct. Thus, this initial test shows that the school counselor accountability scale has good reliability and validity and is ready to be used in the measurement of school counselor accountability. Akuntabilitas konseling sekolah telah bertransformasi dari sekadar menghitung aktivitas konselor menjadi berbasis data dan bukti untuk menunjukkan dampak pada keberhasilan siswa. Skala akuntabilitas yang telah dikembangkan secara khusus untuk konselor sekola masih belum banyak. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji reliabilitas dan validitas skala akuntabilitas konselor sekolah menggunakan model Rasch. Skala yang dikembangkan mencakup enam indikator utama: menyelaraskan misi program BK dengan misi sekolah (mission), mengumpulkan data kinerja siswa (element), menganalisis data (analysis), bersatu dengan pemangku kepentingan untuk merencanakan tindakan (stakeholder unite), mengumpulkan hasil (result), dan melaporkan hasil (educate). Penelitian ini melibatkan sampel awal sebanyak 78 konselor sekolah kota Semarang yang tergabung dalam Musyawarah Guru Bimbingan dan Konseling (MGBK). Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa indeks reliabilitas item pada skala akuntabilitas mencapai 0,88, sedangkan reliabilitas responden sebesar 0,97, dengan nilai Cronbach's alpha 0,98, yang mengindikasikan konsistensi internal yang sangat tinggi. Selain itu, uji unidimensionalitas menunjukkan bahwa varians yang dijelaskan oleh model sebesar 39%, jauh di atas ambang batas minimum 20%, yang menunjukkan bahwa skala ini mampu mengukur satu konstruksi yang jelas. Dengan demikian, tes awal ini menunjukkan bahwa skala akuntabilitas konselor sekolah memiliki reliabilitas dan validitas yang baik serta siap untuk digunakan dalam pengukuran akuntabilitas konselor sekolah.

Abstract

The present focus of school counselling accountability extends beyond merely tallying activities and time invested by counsellors; it necessitates that school counsellors implement results-oriented and evidence-based methods. This study is to examine the literature about trends, models, and barriers faced by counsellors in the implementation of accountability practices. This study employs a Narrative literature review and Bibliometric analysis covering the period from 2003 to 2023, analysed using Vosviewer. The research findings indicate that the literature on accountability in school counselling is intricately linked to program evaluation, data-driven decision-making, and stakeholder collaboration, all aimed at enhancing the efficacy of counselling services in educational institutions and ultimately fostering student success. The findings of the narrative literature review elucidate models that serve as references for school counsellors in implementing accountability practices, specifically data-driven decision-making, the transformative individual school counselling model, MEASURE, the evidence-based model, and the IDEAS model. Additionally, researchers identified accountability barriers stemming from both internal and external factors affecting school counsellors.These findings may serve as a foundation for future study aimed at establishing a data-driven approach to enhance school counsellor accountability.

Abstract

Bimbingan karir bertujuan untuk membantu seseorang mengenal, memahami dan mengembangkan potensi diri dalam mempersiapkan masa depan bagi dirinya. Kemampuan remaja dalam mengambil keputusan karir akan memberikan pengaruh yang besar dalam perjalanan pendidikan dan pekerjaan karir dimasa depan. Hal ini menjadi konsekuensi logis dari perkembangan remaja dimana terdapat tuntutan dalam mengambil keputusan pilihan karirnya. Metode dalam pembuatan artikel ini adalah literature review. Analisis jurnal pada studi literatur ini menggunakan metode critical appraisal. Teknik ini digunakan dengan tujuan mengkaji bimbingan karir terhadap keputusan karir pada remaja. Hasil dari kajian literature review ini dilihat dari perbandingan pretets posttest, sebelum diberikan program bimbingan karir hasil pretest siswa berada pada kategori yang rendah, setelah diberikan program bimbingan karir maka hasil posttest meningkat. Maka kesimpulan dari penelitian ini yaitu bimbingan karir efektif dalam membantu siswa memutuskan karirnya dan juga bertujuan untuk mengeksplorasi pengaruh bimbingan karir terhadap keputusan karir siswa. Abstract

Layanan bimbingan dan konseling di perguruan tinggi berperan penting dalam membantu mahasiswa untuk meningkatkan kemampuan resiliensi akademik. Namun, saat ini layanan BK di PT masih menemui hambatan seperti rasio konselor dan mahasiswa yang belum ideal. Oleh karena itu, dibutuhkan strategi untuk optimalisasi layanan BK di PT yang dapat membantu meningkatkan resiliensi akademik mahasiswa. Penelitian bertujuan untuk meneliti urgensi pendekatan bimbingan teman sebaya sebagai salah satu strategi dalam meningkatkan resiliensi akademik mahasiswa. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan metode survei yang dilakukan terhadap 541 mahasiswa Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa mahasiswa sering menghadapi tantangan akademik, sedangkan sebagian besar mahasiswa lebih memilih untuk meminta bantuan mahasiswa lain dibandingkan layanan BK di PT. Oleh karena itu, berdasarkan temuan penelitian, terdapat urgensi pengembangan layanan bimbingan teman sebaya sebagai untuk meningkatkan resiliensi akademik mahasiswa. Direkomendasikan kepada layanan BK di PT untuk mengembangkan program bimbingan teman sebaya.   Kata Kunci : resiliensi akademik, bimbingan teman sebaya, mahasiswa
