Abstract

One way to improve the process of student learning activities in mathematics is to package learning material through creative techniques, for example by singing or singing. The purpose of this PPM activity is to increase participants' insights about learning mathematics with the singing method so that it can improve the process of learning mathematics. The subjects of the training activities are classroom teachers and mathematics subject teachers at SD Negeri 2 Kalipetir. These service activities are carried out through the planning, implementation (presentation of material, singing practice, making mathematical songs), and evaluation. From the results of the evaluation of activities, more than 75% of teachers gave a positive value to the service activities. PPM activities have a great benefit and meaning for the service participants. PPM activities have a significant contribution to 1) improve competence and open insight into the devotion of participants 2) train devotional participants to create mathematical songs according to the material to be taught, and 3) increase motivation of devotion participants to further optimize the process of learning mathematics.

Abstract

This study aims to improve the mathematical communication skills of fifth grade students in SD Negeri Kedundang through the application of cooperative learning models of Think Talk Write type. This type of research is classroom action research. The subjects in this study were 19 students. The technique used for data collection is observation and written test techniques. The research instrument is the teacher observation sheets, student observations and written tests. The data analysis technique used is descriptive quantitative and descriptive qualitative. The results of pre-action observation showed that students' communication skills were categorized as very low (47.63%) and low (38.48%). Then in the first cycle, students' mathematical communication skills on average increased from very low and low to low (22.60%), moderate (27.60), and high (22%). To strengthen the results of observations from the first cycle, the learning activities were held in the second cycle, the results of students' mathematical communication skills increased to the medium category (37.36%), high (39.47%), and very high (18.42%). Based on the results obtained it can be concluded that the application of the think talk write learning model can improve the mathematical communication skills of fifth grade students of Kedundang Elementary School.

Abstract

This study aims to test the effectiveness of Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) model with ‘dakon’ media for multiplication operations of 4th grade elementary school learning outcomes in Srikandi Gunungpati Semarang. This is a quasi experimental research with a non-equivalent control group design. The sampling technique is cluster or area sampling, which specified to Pongangan Elementary School as an experimental class and Cepoko Elementary School as a control class. The data was collected with test and non-test techniques. The results showed an increase in student learning outcomes in the experimental class by 37,06 and the control class by 32,88. The hypothesis test results showed the value of t-count (2.32)> t-table (1.67), so that the average learning outcomes of the experimental class multiplication operations was higher than the average learning outcomes of the control class. Furthermore, the n-gain of the experimental class was 0.69 with high criteria and the n-gain value of the control class was 0.63 with moderate criteria. From the gain and n-gain values, the increase in learning outcomes in the experimental class was higher than the control class in medium improvement category. Based on these results, it can be concluded that the RME learning model with dakon media is more effective in improving learning outcomes than the conventional model in multiplication learning of 4th grade students at elementary school of Cluster Srikandi Gunungpati Semarang.

Abstract

The ability to think reflective is an important ability to be developed in the mathematics learning process because it contains critical thinking skills and creative thinking skills. The purpose of this study was to assess the level of reflective thinking skills of elementary school students in high grades. This type of research is library research. The research data was obtained through a review of literature sources, including literature from print and online research journals, proceedings, reference books according to topics, modules, and other relevant sources. The ability to think reflective of elementary school students in high grades includes, first mentioning things in basic knowledge what is asked in the questions, what is known, mentioning the relationship between what is asked and what is known, and so on. Second, displaying problem-solving ideas designed according to known knowledge. Third, look back at the problem solving that has been made in order, including correcting and explaining if there is an error from the answer, and making conclusions correctly

Abstract

Strengthening literacy in the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic was a challenge for academics and educational practitioners to continue in encouraging literacy. Literacy was one of the important programs in education because literacy culture in Indonesia was still low. The pandemic had hampered the implementation of the School Literacy Movement. Therefore, this research aimed to: 1) develop reading materials in the form of Augmented Reality-based fairy tales for elementary school students so that they became supporting tools of the School Literacy Movement during the pandemic; 2) evaluate the effectiveness of Augmented Reality-based fairy tales in fostering literacy habits in elementary school students. This research was a development research in elementary school students which refered to the ADDIE development stage which had been modified to suit the research objectives. The development stages were: 1) Analysis; 2) Design; 3) Development; 4) Implementation; and 5) Evaluation. The research data were collected through observation, documentation, questionnaires, and tests. The data analysis techniques in this research were divided into four, namely preliminary studies, product development processes, product feasibility tests, and product practicality tests. The research results showed that stories based on AR developed as literacy material for students in Elementary Schools was considered worthy of a good category after validation tests were carried out by material experts, media experts, and practitioners. Abstract

This service activity is a collaboration between the Service Team and Taman Baca Abdurohman. Taman Baca Abdurohman at the beginning of its establishment was the initiation of a community group in RT.13/08 Panjatan, Kulon Progo. The purpose of establishing the Taman Baca Abdurohman is to facilitate children in the surrounding environment who like to read or want to read but are hindered by economic affordability. In addition, the purpose of establishing the Taman Baca Abdurohman is to increase interest in reading and improve literacy, especially for children around and in general the community in the reading park environment is located. Children as the main users of the benefits of Taman Baca Abdurohman's have a tendency to like folklore and fairy tales. With the advancement of science and technology, of course, adjustments must be made by Taman Baca Abdurohman. The service team and partner cooperation programs implemented to achieve these goals are empowerment and mentoring. Empowerment activities are carried out through adding to the collection of books in Abdurohman's reading park and implementing empowerment for PKK mothers around the reading park locations, mentoring activities are carried out through the provision of English language tutoring and competitions. The results of the evaluation of the service program showed that there was an increase in the number of visits by members of the Taman Baca Abdurohman and the general public to the place. So it can be concluded that the solution provided by the service team is appropriate to overcome the problems that exist in Taman Baca Abdurohman's.
