Abstract

Zooplankton and phytoplankton have an ecological function as primary producers in the food chain, so they are often used as a scale for measuring water fertility. The aim of the study was to determine the community structure of zooplankton and phytoplankton in terms of the level of diversity, level of uniformity, and level of dominance in the gastric contents of the Komo Tuna (Euthynnus affinis) caught by fishermen in Lamongan Waters. Sampling of the Komo Tuna fish was carried out from the catches of fishermen in Lamongan Waters. The experimental method was through direct observation of the types of zooplankton and phytoplankton in the gastric contents of the Komo Tuna fish. Analysis of zooplankton and phytoplankton community structure data in the stomach contents of the Tuna Tuna using the diversity index, uniformity index, and dominance index approaches. The results showed that the community structure of zooplankton and phytoplankton that had been identified in the gastric contents of the Tuna Tuna was in accordance with life in Lamongan waters indicated by the diversity index value belonging to the medium and low categories, the uniformity index value belonging to the high category, and the dominance index value belonging to the unstable and stable category.

Abstract

Gel spermisida yang mengandung bahan aktif nonoxynol-9 merupakan salah satu kontrasepsi non hormonal berbentuk gel yang banyak digunakan di kalangan masyarakat, namun, senyawa nonoxynol-9 dapat menyebabkan iritasi dan gatal-gatal pada vagina. Pada penelitian ini dibuat alternatif herbal spermisida dari tanaman pegagan, lerak dan mimba yang diformulasikan dalam sistem penghantaran nanoemulgel. Pada penelitian ini dilakukan optimasi dan formulasi nanoemulgel berbahan kombinasi dari ekstrak n-butanol Pegagan, ekstrak n-butanol Lerak  dan minyak biji Mimba menggunakan model full factorial design (23). Pada penelitian ini didapatkan hasil bahwa ukuran partikel nanoemulgel memiliki rentang 477,5 ± 0,2 hingga 781,2 ± 0,6 nm. Daya sebar dari Nanoemulgel memiliki rentang 5,8 ± 0,2 sampai 6,6 ± 0,1 cm. Zeta Potensial dari nanoemulgel memiliki rentang -37,1 ± 0,7 sampai -37,1 ± 0,7 mV. Rentang pH yang dihasilkan adalah 5,9 ± 0,1 hingga 6,6 ± 0,1, viskositas yang dihasilkan adalah 768 ± 0,8  hingga 833 ± 0,8 cps.Variabel konsentrasi ekstrak n-butanol lerak dan interaksi antara ekstrak n-butanol pegagan dan minyak biji mimba berpengaruh signifikan terhadap respon ukuran partikel dilihat dari nilai p-value < 0,05 dengan nilai masing-masing p-value 0,04 dan 0,036. Pada respon zeta potential dan respon daya sebar, semua variabel konsentrasi ekstrak n-butanol lerak, ekstrak n-butanol pegagan, minyak biji mimba, interaksi ekstrak n-butanol lerak dan ekstrak n-butanol pegagan, interaksi antara ekstrak n-butanol pegagan dan minyak biji mimba dan interaksi ekstrak n-butanol lerak dan minyak biji mimba memiliki nilai p-value > 0,05, sehingga dapat disimpulkan tidak ada berpengaruh signifikan terhadap respon zeta potential dan daya sebar.

Abstract

Betta fish is one type of ornamental fish with unique characteristics, namely having an attractive color, to increase the intensity of the color, Betta fish need to be added color pigments and beta-carotene derived from nature in their feed. Yellow pumpkin is known as a fruit and vegetable that contains carotenoids, especially β-carotene. This study aims to determine the effect of adding yellow pumpkin flour in commercial feed on increasing color brightness and growth of Betta fish. Complete Randomized Design (RAL) with 5 treatments and 5 repeats namely P0 (control), P1 (2.5%), P2 (5%), P3 (7.5%), and P4 (10%) for 3 months. The results showed that the P2 treatment produced significant color brightness (P<0.05) compared to control. Betta fish length growth was not significant (P>0.05). The weight growth of Betta fish treated with P3 was significant (P<0.05) compared to the control. The addition of pumpkin flour in commercial feed has been proven to increase color brightness and weight growth in betta fish. Keywords: Betta Fish; Pumpkin flour; Color brightness and growth.

Abstract

Male betta fish is known as an ornamental fish that has varied tail colors and shapes, these advantages are what make the price more expensive in the market but to get a population of male betta fish obtained from natural spawning is very low. One of the efforts to increase the number of male betta fish populations is carried out masculinization method through the use of goat testicular flour solution. This study aims to determine the effect of the length of soaking of betta fish larvae in a solution of goat testicular flour on the success of sex changes of male betta fish. The experimental study used a Complete Randomized Design (RAL) with 4 treatments and 5 tests. The treatment in this study was that the larvae of betta fish aged 4 days were soaked in a solution of goat testicular flour at different doses. Control, P1 (24-hour soaking dose 60 ppm), P2 (36-hour soaking dose 70 ppm), and P3 (48-hour soaking dose 80 ppm). An observed variable percentage of male betta fish. Data analysis using ANOVA, if there is a difference, followed by the Tukey Test. Sexes are distinguished by observations morphologically. The results showed that the duration of soaking 24 hours at a dose of 60 ppm resulted in the highest percentage of male betta fish 73.37% with a survival rate of 78%.

Abstract

Ikan Rainbow boesmani jantan (Melanotaenia boesmani) merupakan jenis ikan hias berasal dariPapua yang tubuhnya memiliki perpaduan warna pelangi. Kecerahan warna merupakan salahsatu parameter penentu nilai ikan hias. Semakin cerah warna, maka semakin tinggi nilai jualikan hias tersebut. Kecerahan warna dipengaruhi faktor pakan, oleh karena itu ikan perludiberikan pakan yang dapat meningkatkan kecerahan warnanya. Penelitian ini dilakukan untukmengetahui pengaruh pemberian astaxanthin pada pakan alami Moina sp. dengan konsentrasiberbeda terhadap kecerahan warna, pertumbuhan dan survival rate. Hasil penelitianmenunjukan bahwa pemberian astaxanthin pada pakan alami Moina sp. perlakuan P3(0,50gr/Liter) terbukti berpengaruh signifikan (P<0.05) terhadap kecerahan warna,pertumbuhan berat mutlak, pertumbuhan panjang mutlak dan kelangsungan hidup ikanrainbow boesmani Jantan. Abstract

Pengetahuan masyarakat khususnya tentang diversifikasi atau aneka ragam pangan bersumber ikan dan hasil perikanan lainnya masih sangat terbatas. Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan dan keterampilan Ibu-Ibu PKK RT 03/04 Ketintang melalui pelatihan dalam pembuatan stik berbahan dasar lele dan menciptakan peluang usaha secara nyata di masa mendatang, mampu meningkatkan nilai jual produk hasil olahan, dan dapat dipasarkan lebih luas karena memiliki nilai ekonomis yang tinggi. Selain itu, tujuan dari pengolahan ikan lele menjadi stik ini adalah untuk meningkatkan minat mengkonsumsi ikan lele dan kandungan gizi yang terdapat pada ikan lele dapat dimanfaatkan dengan baik. Metode dalam pelaksanaan kegiatan ini adalah tahap perencanaan yang dimulai dengan melakukan diskusi dengan ketua PKK, tahap penyuluhan dan pelatihan dimana dalam tahap ini dilakukan metode presentasi dan penjelasan materi oleh narasumber tentang pentingnya diversifikasi olahan ikan. Narasumber juga mempraktekkan pembuatan produk stik ikan lele dan peserta berperan aktif dalam pelaksanaannya. Tahap yang terakhir yaitu penilaian ketercapaian tolok ukur yang dilakukan melalui metode pre-test dan post-test. Berdasarkan hasil kegiatan, dapat disimpulkan bahwa pelaksanaan pengabdian kepada masyarakat secara umum berlangsung dengan baik dan berdasarkan hasil evaluasi, adanya peningkatan pengetahuan dan pemahaman masyarakat sebanyak 57,3% tentang diversifikasi produk perikanan berbahan dasar ikan lele

Abstract

Permasalahan pengelolahan sampah organik di sejumlah daerah di tanah air masih terbatas bahkan masih menjadi masalah bagi lingkungan. Salah satu usaha pengelolaan sampah yang dapat dilakukan yaitu dengan memanfaatkan sampah organik sebagai media budidaya larva lalat BSF (Black Soldier Fly). Budidaya larva BSF terbukti mampu tumbuh dan berkembangbiak pada sampah organik, larvanya memiliki kandungan protein sebesar 40-50%, termasuk asam amino esensial sebagai pengganti tepung ikan selain itu limbah budidaya BSF dapat dimanfaatkan sebagai pupuk kompos untuk tanaman. Metode pelaksanaan budidaya BSF dengan memberdayakan masyarakat utamanya warga RT-03 RW-10 Rungkut Asri Timur melalui pelatihan dan pendampingan. Hasil pretest dan post-test pelatihan dan pendampingan menunjukan produksi larva lalat BSF dan pupuk organik limbah budidaya serta adanya peningkatan antusias positif rata-rata 55% untuk mengatasi limbah organik. Hasil pelatihan dan pendampingan secara keseluruhan warga RT-03 RW-10 Rungkut Asri Timur mendapat ilmu baru tentang cara budidayanya.

Abstract

Introduction. The spermicidal effect of the nonoxynol-9 compound paralyzes sperm by rupturing the cell membrane. Nonoxynol-9 compounds, however, can irritate and itch the vagina. Using a Nanostructured Lipid Carrier (NLC) delivery system, alternative herbal spermicides were created in this research using gotu kola, lerak, and neem. To optimize and formulate of NLC formulation herbal spermicides made from a combination of lipids on Glyceryl Monostearate (GMS) and liquid lipids of olive oil using a response surface full factorial design model (22), and analyzing particle size tests, spreadability tests, pH, viscosity, and potential zeta tests. Method. A full factorial design model (22) was employed in this research to optimize and formulate NLC herbal spermicides using a combination of lipids in Glyceryl Monostearate (GMS) and liquid lipid olive oil. Results and Analysis. NLC herbal spermicide particle sizes range from 103.8 ± 0.3 to 178.0 ± 1.2 nm. The spreading power of NLC Herbal Spermicide ranges from 5.8 ± 0.05 to 6.3 ± 0.05 cm. The Zeta Potential of NLC Herbal Spermicide has a range of -17.0 ± 0.8 to -24.8 ± 3.3 mV. Resulting pH range is 5.7 ± 0.2 to 6.5 ± 0.1, resulting viscosity is 564 ± 0.3 to 661 ± 0.5 cps. Discussion. The equation model for the power distribution response has a p-value smaller than 0.05 which means it is significant so that the equation model can be used to predict the power response. Different things occur in the zeta potential response and spreadability which have a p-value greater than 0.05, so it can be concluded that the ratio of solid lipids and liquid lipids has no effect on the particle size and zeta potential parameters.

Abstract

Betta fish is a freshwater ornamental fish with a unique body shape and the brightness of its color is one of the attractions among its fans. The increase in color intensity and growth in betta fish is greatly influenced by the nutrient content in the feed and genetics. Adding Spirulina platensis flour to feed is expected to increase feed nutrients such as beta carotene, which is known to increase the intensity of color and growth of betta fish. This study aims to prove whether adding Spirulina platensis flour to feed can increase the intensity of color and growth of betta fish. The experimental research used a Complete Random Design (RAL) with 4 treatments and 3 replicates, namely P0 (0%), P1 (3%), P2 (5%), P3 (7%) for 3 months. The parameters measured were color intensity and growth. Test F to determine the effect of treatment on parameters, if there is a real influence, the Duncan test is carried out The test fish in the study is a one-month-old, blue, and male betta fish seed. The results showed that the addition of Spirulina platensis flour to P1 treatment feed (3%) experienced the highest increase in color intensity (P<0.05) followed by P2 treatment (5%), then P3 treatment (7%) and finally P0 treatment (0%). The P1 treatment (3%) was shown to be optimal in increasing the intensity of the color of betta fish but was not followed by an increase in growth.

Abstract

The study aimed to determine the effect of EM-4 probiotic administration on natural klekap feed with different doses on the growth and survival of milkfish (Chanos sp) seeds. The test fish of milkfish (Chanos sp) with a length of 2 cm and a weight of 2 grams came from a milkfish seed cultivation reservoir in Mengarih Village, Manyar District, Gresik Regency, randomly stocked into 12 ponds with a fish density of 30 fish/pond and tested for 30 days. This study used a Complete Random Design with 4 treatments and 3 replicates. The treatment given was the difference in the dose of probiotics added in klekap natural feed, which consisted of treatment without the addition of probiotics, treatment with the addition of probiotics as much as 15 ml/L, 25 ml/L, 35 ml/L. Data were analyzed using Variety Analysis (ANOVA) with a level of (P<0.05). Test parameters included absolute weight growth rate (LPBM), absolute length growth (PPM), and survival rate (SR). The results showed that the administration of EM-4 on different natural klekap feeds had a real effect (P<0.05) on LPBM, PPM, and SR. The best values were for LPBM (5.73±0.14 grams), PPM (10.33±0.04 mm).
