Abstract

The development of social media as part of digital transformation has opened up new opportunities in community education efforts, especially through the Student Creativity Program (PKM). This study aims to examine the strategy of utilizing social media as an educational tool in digital-based PKM activities. Social media such as TikTok, Instagram, and Facebook are used strategically to reach various segments of society, taking into account generational characteristics, information needs, and socio-cultural contexts. A descriptive qualitative approach was used in this study, with data collection techniques through in-depth interviews with implementing students, supervising lecturers, and beneficiary communities. Data analysis was carried out thematically with source triangulation to maintain validity. The results of the study indicate that the integration of social media in PKM not only increases access to educational information but also strengthens community participation in the learning process. The success of the program is highly dependent on the design of content that is visually attractive, substantively contextual, and participatory in its implementation. However, challenges related to digital literacy, information credibility, and community involvement still need to be addressed through sustainable strategies. Thus, social media has the potential to be an effective educational platform if utilized critically, creatively, and collaboratively within the framework of digital-based community service.

Abstract

Independent journalism podcasts are now seen as a highly credible source of information, often even more trusted than mainstream media. This is due to the transparency of the narratives presented, consistency in topic selection, and freedom from pressure from certain parties, which allows for the delivery of broader and more diverse perspectives. Audiences rate independent podcasts as relatively objective, although the personal opinions of the podcasters remain influenced. A presentation style that combines conversational formats and storytelling techniques creates emotional intimacy, strengthens trust, and builds listener loyalty. Topics that are current and relevant, presented in a relaxed yet informative manner, are a unique attraction that distinguishes podcasts from conventional media. However, challenges remain, particularly in verifying information and the potential for personal bias, which can affect the accuracy and objectivity of the content. Therefore, audience media literacy is crucial so they can critically review the information they receive. With all their advantages, independent podcasts have the potential to enrich the media ecosystem by providing a more diverse alternative source of information, provided they maintain ethical standards, openness of sources, and transparency in every aspect of their production process.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the transformation of digital libraries in supporting information literacy in the era of artificial intelligence (AI). The research method used is descriptive qualitative, involving 10 informants consisting of librarians, lecturers, and students as active users of digital libraries. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, observation, and documentation, then analyzed using the Miles & Huberman model through the stages of data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results show that digital libraries have transformed through the application of AI, such as intelligent search systems, chatbots, and automatic source recommendations. This transformation has been proven to support the improvement of user information literacy, especially in the skills of accessing, evaluating, and utilizing academic information. However, challenges that arise include limited infrastructure, resistance from some users, and the need to improve librarians' competencies in mastering AI-based technology. These findings confirm that digital libraries play a vital role in strengthening information literacy in the digital era, while also demanding a sustainable development strategy.

Abstract

Kemajuan teknologi informasi dan komunikasi seperti smartphone, komputer dan jaringan internet telah dirasakan oleh masyarakat Desa Tanjung Tiram. Teknologi digital tidak lagi sebatas untuk berkomunikasi satu dengan yang lain, tetapi juga digunakan untuk mencari dan mengirimkan berbagai informasi secara realistis, mudah serta cepat. Selain itu, teknologi informasi juga dapat mengakibatkan kerugian jika tidak digunakan secara baik dan benar. Kegiatan literasi digital ini untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan dan keterampilan masyarakat dalam menggunakan teknologi informasi. Metode pelaksanaan kegiatan menggunakan model penyuluhan dan pendampingan kepada kelompok masyarakat yang bertempat di Balai Desa Tanjung Tiram. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan anggota masyarakat baik orang tua maupun anak sekolah mampu memeragakan aplikasi media sosial dengan baik dan benar; menggunakan facebook, instagram dan tiktok untuk menyebarkan dan mengupload berbagai informasi yang menarik serta mampu mengaktifkan menu dua langkah yang terdapat dalam smartphone untuk mencegah akun dari tindakan penipuan atau hacker. Dengan kegiatan literasi digital ini mampu menciptakan masyarakat yang sadar dan terampil menggunakan teknologi digital sehingga terhindar dari korban penipuan.

Abstract

Public speaking merupakan satu keterampilan yang dapat mengembangkan diri pribadi, mempengaruhi dunia sekitar, dan meningkatkan karier. Lembaga desa merupakan wadah untuk mengemban tugas dan fungsi Pemerintahan Desa, yaitu memberikan pelayanan (service) dan pemberdayaan (empowerment), serta pembangunan (development) yang seluruhnya ditujukan bagi kepentingan masyarakat. Lembaga desa dalam menyelenggarakan tugas pokok tidak terlepas dari komunikasi secara langsung dengan masyarakat umum atau publik. Oleh karena itu perlu memiliki keterampilan publlic speaking yang baik agar berhasil dalam menjalankan tugas dan fungsinya. Pelatihan ini dilaksanakan di Desa Tanjung Tiram dengan menggunakan metode ceramah, diskusi, dan latihan (role play) serta pembimbingan/pendampingan. Ceramah dan diskusi dilakukan untuk menambah pengetahuan dan latihan (role play) untuk melatih dan memotivasi peserta agar memiliki keberanian dan terbiasa berada di depan orang banyak atau publik; serta pendampingan diberikan untuk membantu peserta yang belum berhasil mengeksplorasi potensi personal yang dimiliki seperti, berbicara teratur, suara dan vocal jelas, menghilangkan perasaan gugup dan percaya diri. Hasil pelatihan menunjukkan bahwa sebagian besar materi yang disampaikan dapat dipahami dan dimengerti. Pertanyaan yang diajukan peserta sebagian besar hanya untuk mempertegas atau memperteguh dari materi yang telah disampaikan. Latihan (role play) juga berjalan lancar meskipun bebrapa peserta baru pertama kali berada di depan forum. Pendampingan yang diberikan berhasil mengatasi berbagai permasalahan pribadi peserta, seperti berbicara menjadi teratur dan terarah, vokal suara menjadi lebih jelas, bahkan mampu mengekspresikan sikap yang menarik. Peserta berharap pelatihan public speaking dilakukan secara berkesinambungan, karena memiliki manfaat yang besar bagi peningkatan kapasitas lembaga desa terutama meningkatkan kemampuan berbicara di depan umum (public speaking) dengan baik.
