Abstract

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the transformation in the quality of graduates from Hidayatullah College in the Riau Islands Province, focusing on two main aspects: academic competence and Islamic character. The research method used is a mixed-method approach, combining a quantitative component through the distribution of questionnaires to final-year students and alumni (350 respondents) with a qualitative component through interviews with lecturers and graduate users (25 respondents). The study's results demonstrate academic competence. 72% of alumni stated that the course material is relevant to the needs of the world of work, especially in the fields of Islamic education, da'wah management, and Islamic economics. Twenty-eight percent consider the curriculum too theoretical. In terms of Islamic character, the study found that 82% of respondents have discipline in carrying out worship, 85% received positive appreciation from graduate users regarding social morals, and 62% are involved in Islamic leadership activities. This study implies that Hidayatullah College in the Riau Islands has successfully transformed the quality of its graduates by emphasizing strong Islamic character aspects. Therefore, it is necessary to develop a more comprehensive educational model that focuses not only on the religiosity aspect but also on the relevance of graduates.

Abstract

Product quality is a crucial factor for companies to win the competition, both from an operational management and marketing perspective. PT Kreasi Kotak Megah Medan, a carton packaging manufacturer, faces a high level of product defects. The dominant types of defects occur in the printing and coloring processes, resulting in cost and time losses, and reduced production efficiency. Although the company has implemented Total Quality Management (TQM), production results indicate inconsistent product quality. This study aims to analyze the level of TQM implementation and formulate improvement proposals to enhance product quality. The Servqual method is used to identify gaps between expectations and performance of quality management implementation and to determine improvement priorities. The results are expected to provide an overview of the effectiveness of TQM implementation and recommendations for improvements that can improve product quality and minimize the defect rate at PT Kreasi Kotak Megah Medan.

Abstract

Pematang Johar Village is one of the agricultural villages with abundant rice production. However, a portion of the harvest results in low-quality rice such as broken grains, dull color, and leftover rice from daily consumption. This problem leads to economic inefficiency and increased food waste. Through this community service program, a new value chain innovation was introduced by processing rice waste into rice crackers. This innovation was chosen because of easily available raw materials, cultural consumption habits, and its potential to reduce food waste while creating local culinary identity. The production process is simple, low-cost, and offers wide marketing opportunities both online and offline. The program results show an increase in community knowledge and skills, establishment of a small business group, and the birth of a new culinary identity for Pematang Johar Village.

Abstract

This phenomenological study investigates why entrepreneurially trained graduates choose employment rather than founding ventures in the Aceh higher-education context. Using Interpretative Phenomenological Analysis (IPA), we conducted semi-structured interviews with 12 alumni who completed entrepreneurship courses/competitions/incubation yet currently work as employees. Analysis generated five superordinate themes: (1) temporary competitive euphoria—competitions boost confidence, networks, and credentials but fade without aftercare; (2) stability rationality and risk aversion—employment is framed as pragmatic adaptation to income needs, market uncertainty, and family obligations; (3) campus-to-market ecosystem gaps—a “missing middle” between pitch events and real operations (financing, compliance, distribution); (4) hybrid career identity and skill transfer—entrepreneurial skills persist via intrapreneurship and low-risk side projects; and (5) temporal opportunity and momentum loss—post-graduation delays narrow windows and disperse teams. We conclude that employment is not an antithesis to entrepreneurship but a meaningful, risk-managing pathway within constrained ecosystems. Practical implications include building a curriculum-to-venture pipeline, staged evidence-gated funding, 6–12-month transition fellowships, one-door compliance/production clinics, anchor-demand partnerships, and formal intrapreneurship tracks. The study reframes the intention–behavior gap as employment-oriented adaptation and suggests longitudinal, multi-site research to test and refine this pathway.
