Abstract

Arabic language teachers have significant roles and challenges in internalizing character values through Arabic language learning. Teachers are responsible for teaching vocabulary and grammar and must also be able to convey character education values. This research aims to determine the concrete form of internalizing character education values through the Arabic language learning process at Ulumuddin Islamic Boarding School in Lhokseumawe, Aceh. This study employs a descriptive qualitative research design. The data sources include observations during the Arabic language learning and interviews with teachers and students at Ulumuddin Islamic Boarding School in Lhokseumawe, Aceh. The data analysis follows Miles and Huberman's approach, involving data collection, reduction, display, and conclusion. The research findings indicate that the concrete form of internalizing character education values through Arabic language learning encompasses planning, implementation, and evaluation of the learning process. In practice, teachers use interactive, collaborative, and applicative teaching methods, enabling students to not only master the Arabic language but also develop positive character values. The internalization of character education values through Arabic language learning can contribute to shaping a generation that is not only intellectually smart but also possesses character values, following the requirements of the Aceh Regulation of 2022 to strengthen the implementation of Islamic character education.

Abstract

Abstract

The rapid development of information technology and the digitalization of banking services have significantly transformed the delivery of financial products, particularly through digital banking platforms. While digital banking offers efficiency and convenience, it also gives rise to legal issues related to consumer protection, especially concerning the imposition of hidden fees through misleading advertising practices. Hidden fees are costs that are not transparently disclosed to consumers at the initial stage of product promotion, causing consumers to make financial decisions based on incomplete or inaccurate information. In the context of banking law, such practices raise serious legal concerns regarding transparency, fairness, and the accountability of banks toward consumers. The Indonesian legal framework has incorporated consumer protection principles, including the obligation of transparency, good faith, and prohibition of misleading advertising in banking services. However, regulatory arrangements specifically governing hidden fees in digital banking advertisements remain fragmented and lack explicit enforcement mechanisms, potentially leading to legal uncertainty and consumer vulnerability. This study aims to analyze the legal protection afforded to consumers against hidden fees arising from misleading advertising practices in the digital banking sector. The research employs a normative legal method using statutory and conceptual approaches by examining banking regulations, consumer protection laws, and legal doctrines related to transparency and liability. The findings indicate that banks may be held legally liable when hidden fees result from misleading advertisements, insufficient disclosure of costs, or violations of the principles of transparency and good faith. Therefore, clearer and more comprehensive legal regulation is necessary to strengthen consumer protection and ensure legal certainty in digital banking practices.

Abstract

Background: Nausea and vomiting are the most common side effects during chemotherapy and often disrupt patients' quality of life. The purpose of this implementation is to assess the effect of peppermint aromatherapy administration on reducing nausea and vomiting in cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy. The design is a one-group pretest-posttest, with implementation carried out at the Medical Installation of Arifin Achmad Hospital, Riau Province, over eight weeks, including preparation, pre-test, intervention, post-test, analysis, and dissemination. Two patients who meet the inclusion criteria participated as subjects. Human resources involved include researchers, academic supervisors, head nurses, and implementing nurses. The intervention was given through inhalation of peppermint aromatherapy using a nebulizer three times per chemotherapy cycle. Dissemination is planned through internal hospital presentations, academic forums, scientific publications, and community education. The results of the implementation showed a significant decrease in the intensity and frequency of nausea and vomiting based on RINVR measurements, accompanied by an increase in patients' subjective comfort without side effects. In conclusion, peppermint aromatherapy is effective as a non-pharmacological complementary therapy to reduce nausea and vomiting in chemotherapy patients and has the potential to be integrated into oncology nursing practice. Success evaluation was conducted through process observation, pre- and post-intervention measurements using RINVR, patient interviews, and nursing documentation audits. Data collection methods included direct observation, structured interviews, filling out RINVR instruments, and reviewing care records. This implementation supports the development of evidence-based nursing and can serve as a basis for developing SOPs for peppermint aromatherapy in the chemotherapy room. Keywords: Peppermint aromatherapy; nausea and vomiting; chemotherapy; complementary therapy; oncology nursing

Abstract

Pyoderma gangrenosum (PG) is a rare neutrophilic dermatosis that presents with rapidly progressive, painful ulcers and may be diagnostically challenging because it mimics infection, vasculitis, and other ulcerative dermatoses. This report describes an 88-year-old Minang woman who presented with multiple enlarging, painful ulcers on both lower legs and thighs over six months, with significant functional limitation requiring wheelchair use. Dermatological examination showed multiple ulcers with granulation to necrotic bases, irregular margins, and undermined edges, with surrounding erythema and hyperpigmentation. Laboratory evaluation demonstrated mild anaemia with otherwise unremarkable results, while Gram staining showed no bacteria. Dermoscopy revealed irregular ulcer borders with yellow-brown crusting on an erythematous background. Histopathology supported ulcerative PG by demonstrating epidermal hyperplasia with acantholysis, inflammatory cell infiltration including polymorphonuclear leukocytes and lymphocytes, mixed dermal infiltrate, and evidence of vascular destruction. The patient was treated with systemic methylprednisolone alongside topical wound care (saline compresses, topical antibiotics, and topical corticosteroids), resulting in reduced pain and lesion improvement at two-week follow-up with no new ulcers. This case highlights the importance of recognising characteristic clinical features, excluding infection, and using histopathology to support diagnosis, particularly in elderly patients where disease burden and complications may be greater and management must prioritise gentle wound care and avoidance of trauma.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the correlation between self-efficacy, work experience, and openness to change within the academic circle of the State Islamic Institute of Lhokseumawe. This study employs a quantitative research method with a correlational design. The research population includes all academic staff of the institution, consisting of lecturers and educational staff. The research sample consisted of 160 respondents, comprising 100 lecturers spread across four faculties —the Faculty of Sharia (21 people), the Faculty of Education and Teacher Training (44 people), the Faculty of Economics and Islamic Business (21 people), and the Faculty of Ushuluddin, Adab, and Dakwah (14 people)—and 60 educational staff. The sample was selected using convenience sampling techniques, taking into account the representation of each faculty and job category. The data were analyzed using descriptive analysis, Pearson's correlation, and multiple regression. The results showed a significant positive correlation between self-efficacy and openness to change, with a higher correlation coefficient in the lecturer group (r = 0.50) than in the educational staff group (r = 0.38). Furthermore, these findings indicate that individuals with high self-efficacy tend to be more open to change. In terms of work experience, respondents with less than five years of service showed more openness to change (r = 0.50) than respondents with more than ten years of service (r = 0.35). This indicates a tendency for resistance to change to increase with length of service.

Abstract

The current research is a systematic literature review examining the impact of project-based learning (PBL) on kindergarten students’ motoric development. The review focuses on the types of projects implemented, targeted motoric aspects, and methodological characteristics of previous studies. An initial search was conducted across three databases—Scopus, ERIC, and Google Scholar—and the selected studies were screened using the PRISMA protocol to ensure validity and relevance. Following the selection process, 30 publications were included for analysis. The findings show that research on this topic first emerged in 2015, with the highest number of publications occurring in 2024 (11 studies), involving a total of 548 kindergarten students. Collage-making was the most frequently implemented project, followed by sewing and origami activities. Most studies emphasized fine motor development, particularly hand–eye coordination, cutting, folding, pasting, grasping, writing, and drawing skills. Quantitative quasi-experimental designs were predominantly employed. Overall, the findings indicate a significant positive impact of PBL on kindergarten students’ motoric development, contributing valuable insights for early childhood education practice and research.
