Abstract

This study aims to examine the influence of engaging interactive advertisements on impulsive buying behavior toward electronic products among Generation Z in Central Java. Utilizing an explanatory quantitative approach, the research investigates the mediating role of consumer engagement and the moderating role of positive emotional responses in the relationship between interactive advertisements and impulsive purchases. Data were collected through an online questionnaire involving 32 purposively selected respondents who met specific criteria. The results of multiple linear regression analysis reveal that, collectively, interactive ads, consumer engagement, and emotional responses significantly influence impulsive buying behavior (p = 0.048). However, only consumer engagement demonstrates a statistically significant individual effect (p = 0.013), while interactive advertising and emotional responses do not show significant direct effects. These findings underscore the critical role of active consumer participation in digital marketing, suggesting that interactive experiences fostering engagement are more effective in triggering impulsive purchases than visual appeal or emotional stimulation alone. This study contributes to the development of more participatory and contextually relevant marketing strategies in the digital era and opens avenues for further exploration of psychological and situational factors influencing impulsive buying decisions.

Abstract

Inter-regional students often experience culture shock due to differences in culture, language, and social norms in a new environment. This study aims to identify adaptation patterns used by inter-regional students in dealing with culture shock, such as describing emotional experiences, behaviors, and changes in cultural perceptions, and exploring the role of social support in the adaptation process. This study uses a qualitative phenomenological method with purposive sampling of five students from outside Java who are studying in Java and have lived in Java for at least one year. The results of the study indicate that adaptation takes place through academic, social, emotional, and institutional aspects, support from family, peers, fellow inter-regional friends, campus communities, and one's own coping strengths have been shown to accelerate the adaptation process. Adaptation does not only depend on external support, but also on personal resilience in building routines and accepting cultural changes. These findings confirm that the adaptation of inter-regional students is a gradual, dynamic, and multidimensional process that requires openness, good coping strategies, and ongoing social support.

Abstract

Parenting has an important role in shaping the independence of children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). This study aims to analyze the parenting patterns applied at Rumah Layanan Autisme Semarang and its contribution to the development of children's independence with ASD. The research method used is descriptive qualitative with a case study approach. Data were collected through observation and interviews with five subjects of children with ASD and their parents or caregivers. The results showed that the parenting patterns applied varied, ranging from authoritarian, democratic, to a combination of both. Democratic parenting tends to be more effective in encouraging children's independence through a flexible and positive reinforcement-based approach. In contrast, authoritarian parenting that emphasizes strict discipline can hinder the development of children's initiative. Factors that influence the success of parenting include parents' level of understanding of ASD characteristics, consistency in parenting patterns, and a supportive environment. This research provides insights for parents, educators and practitioners in designing optimal parenting strategies to increase the independence of children with ASD.

A high level of emotional exhaustion indicates that employees feel drained of energy and cannot deal effectively with work pressure. High depersonalization indicates a cold attitude towards colleagues and clients. In addition, low self-esteem suggests a lack of satisfaction and a sense of accomplishment at work.
