Abstract

Abstract

This study explores the emotional and social communication patterns of children with intellectual disabilities (IDD) through a qualitative case study approach. Two participants a 13-year-old boy and a 7-year-old girl underwent psychological assessment, in-depth interviews, and behavioral observation at RSD K.R.M.T. Wongsonegoro Hospital in Semarang. Data were analyzed thematically to identify patterns of emotional regulation, verbal and nonverbal communication, and social adaptability. The findings reveal that both children exhibited deficits in expressive and receptive language, limited emotional regulation, and restricted social engagement. Emotional dysregulation manifested as impulsive behavior, tantrums, and difficulty expressing feelings verbally, while communicative patterns were marked by low initiation, echolalia, and reliance on nonverbal cues. Parental interaction styles and environmental factors, such as inconsistent caregiving and limited stimulation, further shaped these communication dynamics. The study highlights that emotional and social communication challenges in IDD are not solely rooted in cognitive impairment but are also influenced by relational and environmental contexts. These insights emphasize the need for integrative interventions combining emotional coaching, family engagement, and inclusive social experiences to enhance adaptive emotional and communicative functioning among children with intellectual disabilities.

Abstract

Students can generally view conflict positively or negatively. However, a negative view of conflict can trigger division, bullying, and even murder. This study aims to examine the influence of emotion regulation and interpersonal communication on students' perceptions of friendship conflicts. The research method uses a quantitative approach with multiple linear regression. The sampling technique was conducted incidentally, involving 360 psychology students at a state university in Semarang. The instruments used in the study included the friendship conflict perception scale, the emotion regulation scale, and the interpersonal communication scale. The results showed a significant effect (p = 0.000, p < 0.05) of emotion regulation and interpersonal communication on the perception of friendship conflict, with an effect size of 11.3%. These findings show the importance of efforts or interventions to build positive social relationships among students. Abstract

Hospitals, as critical and high-intensity work environments, often place significant pressure on employees. High workloads, such as long working hours, huge responsibilities, and tight time demands, can be the main factors that cause burnout. The purpose of this study is to determine the level of burnout in the financial unit at XYZ Hospital, determine the determinant factors, and find effective strategies to cope with and prevent the negative impact of burnout. This study uses a qualitative approach as a research model. The research subjects/informants in the research were groups that focused on employees in the financial unit. There were four subjects with female staff. The technique used in data collection is interviews. Data analysis uses several stages, including data reduction and conclusion. The study results show that most employees experience high levels of burnout. A high level of emotional exhaustion indicates that employees feel drained of energy and cannot deal effectively with work pressure. High depersonalization indicates a cold attitude towards colleagues and clients. In addition, low self-esteem suggests a lack of satisfaction and a sense of accomplishment at work.
