Abstract

As a student, self-confidence is important, both in doing assignments and in carrying out every activity. However, most of the students who are victims of body shaming have low self-confidence. The factor that influences self-confidence is self-concept. Self-concept is a requirement for someone to have self-confidence, where by having a good self-concept one will be able to have a self-confidence. Therefore, this study aims to determine the relationship between self-concept and self-confidence in victims of body shaming. Participants in this study were 34 students of class X in one of the high schools in Salatiga who had experienced body shaming behavior. This study uses a quantitative approach with a correlational design. This study uses a psychological scale as a data collection instrument, namely the self-concept scale and the self-confidence scale. The results of this study indicate that there is a positive and significant correlation (correlation) between self-concept and self-confidence in victims of body shaming with a correlation coefficient value of 0.875 and significance = 0.000 (p < 0.05), which means the higher self-concept, the higher self-confidence. to victims of body shaming and vice versa.

Abstract

Mahasiswa yang melakukan perilaku merokok diakibatkan dari faktor eksternal maupun internal. Faktor eksternal seperti pengaruh dari teman, melihat iklan, lingkungan maupun keluarga. Faktor internal seperti keinginan dari diri sendiri. Penelitian kuantitatif-korelasional ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan antara konformitas teman sebaya dengan perilaku merokok pada mahasiswa UKSW Salatiga. Partisipan berjumlah 60 mahasiswa UKSW yang diperoleh melalui teknik accidental sampling. Instrumen penelitian menggunakan skala konformitas teman sebaya yang dimodifikasi oleh Gandhi berdasar teori Mehrabian dan Stefldan Skala Perilaku Merokok dari Glover dan Nilson yang diterjemahkan oleh Safitri dkk. Analisis data menggunakan Pearson Correlation dan hasilnya menunjukkan koefisien korelasi sebesar 0.98 dengan nilai signifikan sebesar 0.228 (p>0.05) yang berarti tidak ada hubungan antara konformitas teman sebaya dengan perilaku merokok mahasiswa.

Abstract

The purpose of this stuy was to determine the relationship between democratic parenting and student learning motivation during the Covid-19 pandemic. The participants in this study were students of XII high school in the city of Tentena, Poso Regency, Central Sulawesi, which collected 32 students. The data was collected using a scale of democratic parenting and learning motivation. Data analysis used the product moment correlation method from Pearson. The results showed a significant relationship between democratic parenting and learning motivation in high school students during the Covid-19 pandemic with a value of r = 0,117 and significance = 0,262 (p < 0.05), so it can be said that no there relationship between parenting democratic method applied by parents with student learning motivation.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the relationship between work motivation and employee work performance at the warehouse employees of PT. X Batang city. Participants are employees of PT. X Batang city with a total of 40 people. Data collection uses a work motivation scale consisting of 26 items and a work productivity scale consisting of 21 items and both have met the requirements of good reliability. Data analysis using Pearson product moment correlation technique. The results of this study indicate a correlation coefficient of 0.866 with a significance value of 0.000 (p < 0.05), meaning that there is a significant positive relationship between work motivation and work performance on employees of PT. X Batang city. The higher the work motivation, the higher the work performance, and conversely the lower the work motivation, the lower the work performance. Through this research is expected to help companies in an effort to increase work productivity, one of which is by maintaining and emphasizing work motivation so that employees at PT. X Batang city still has high employee work performance.

Abstract

The focus of this study is to determine the relationship between secure attachment and relationship quality in early adulthood among college student who undergoing long distance relationship (LDR). This Study uses quantitative approach with correlational design. The sampling technique used is purposive sampling. The subject of this study is 44 SWCU Psychology Faculty Students Class of 2018 and 2019 who are undergoing long distance relationship. The measuring tools used in this study are adult attachment scale and perceived relationship quality – revised. Based on the correlation results of the product moment-Pearson is r = r = 0,348 (p < 0.05), meaning that hypothesis of this study is there is a positive relationship between secure attachment and relationship quality among college students who are undergoing long distance relationship (LDR).

Abstract

Penelitian ini ditujukan guna mengetahui hubungan antara kontrol diri akademik dan prokrastinasi akademik pada siswa SMA di kota X yang kecanduan game online. Partisipan dalam penelitian ini sebanyak 46 siswa SMA di kota X. Pemilihan sampel dengan mengaplikasikan teknik snowball. Skala yang diaplikasikan pada penelitian ini yakni skala kontrol diri dan skala prokrastinasi akademik. Menurut hasil analisa data menggunakan uji Spearman’s Rho diperoleh hasil korelasi (r) -0,928 dengan nilai signifikansi 0,000 yang mengindikasikan adanya hubungan negatif secara signifikan antara kontrol diri akademik dengan prokrastinasi akademik pada siswa SMA di kota X yang kecanduan game online. Kian besar kontrol diri akademik pada individu maka prokrastinasi akademik yang dimiliki oleh individu akan semakin rendah, demikian sebaliknya.

Abstract

This research was intentded to know the difference relationship between Adversity Quotient and academic procrastination in completing thesis for students of the Faculty of Psychology, Satya Wacana Christian University. The participants in this study were 55 psychology students from class 2017. The method used in this research is quantitative correlation. Data collection was carried out using a modified procrastination measurement tool from the Tuckman Procrastination Scale (TPS) and an adversity quotient scale modified by the Adversity Response Profile (ARP). The data analysis technique used in this study is the product moment correlation analysis technique. The results of this study show that there is a significant negative relationship between the Adversity Quotient and academic procrastination. This can be seen from the value of the correlation coefficient r = -0.378 with sig = 0.002 (p <0.05). Which means the higher the adversity quotient, the lower the academic procrastination, and conversely the lower the adversity quotient, the higher the academic procrastination.

Abstract

Kepercayaan diri merupakan suatu sikap atau perasaan yakin yang dimiliki oleh individu. Banyak faktor yang memengaruhi kepercayaan diri, salah satunya yaitu citra tubuh. Ketika individu memiliki kepuasan dengan keadaan fisiknya, maka individu akan memiliki kepercayaan diri yang tinggi dan begitu juga sebaliknya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui apakah terdapat hubungan yang positif antara citra tubuh dan kepercayaan diri pada mahasiswi yang mengalami kegemukan. Partisipan pada penelitian ini adalah 212 mahasiswi aktif S1 di beberapa kota Indonesia yang mengalami kegemukan. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode pendekatan kuantitatif dengan desain korelasional. Teknik pengambilan sampel dengan menggunakan convinience sampling. Alat ukur yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah skala Multidimensional Body Self Relations Questionnaire-Appearance Scales (MBSRQ-AS) dan Self-Confidence Scale. Analisis data menggunakan teknik korelasi Product Moment Pearson. Hasil penelitian ini didapatkan bahwa terdapat hubungan yang positif antara citra tubuh dengan kepercayaan diri pada mahasiswi yang mengalami kegemukan dengan nilai koefisien korelasi sebesar 0,196 dan signifikansi sebesar 0,002 (p < 0,05), artinya semakin mahasiswi memiliki citra tubuh yang posisif maka semakin tinggi juga kepercayaan diri pada mahasiswi yang mengalami kegemukan dan sebaliknya.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan antara gaya hidup hedonisme dengan perilaku pembelian impulsif berorientasi mode pada mahasiswa jurusan psikologi di Universitas Kristen Satya Wacana (UKSW) di Salatiga. Partisipan pada penelitian ini sebanyak 35 mahasiswa/i jurusan psikologi di UKSW yang mengikuti tren fashion dan melakukan pembelian impulsif produk fashion minimal 1 kali dalam seminggu. Metode pengambilan sampel dari penelitian ini menggunakan teknik sampling dengan pendekatan non-probability yaitu teknik purposive sampling. Uji dari penelitian ini dibantu oleh perangkat lunak SPSS 22.0 for Windows. Menurut hasil analisa data menggunakan uji korelasi Pearson sebesar 0,505 dengan nilai signifikansi 0,001 (p<0,05), yang berarti terdapat hubungan positif yang signifikan antara gaya hidup hedonisme dan perilaku pembelian impulsif pada mahasiswa psikologi di Universitas Kristen Satya Wacana (UKSW) Salatiga. Artinya apabila gaya hidup hedonisme tinggi maka perilaku pembelian impulsif akan tinggi pula, dan sebaliknya.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the significance of the relationship between self-esteem and narcissism. There were 157 participants in this study using a purposive sampling technique. The data collection method used is the RSES scale (Rosenberg Self Esteem Scale) from Rosenberg which has been tested for construct validity in Indonesia by Maroqi as a self-esteem scale and the Narcissistic Personality Inventory (NPI) scale compiled by Raskin and Terry as the narcissistic scale. The data analysis technique used is the Pearson product-moment correlation technique. From the results of data analysis, a correlation coefficient (r) was obtained -0.621 with a significance value of 0.000 (p<0.01), which means that there is a significant negative relationship between self-esteem and narcissism in Generation Z, who likes to create content on the TikTok application. This means that low self-esteem will be followed by high narcissism and vice versa if high self-esteem is followed by low narcissism.
