Abstract

Student involvement in the learning process is crucial as it affects their learning success. The implementation of online learning at UNISA Yogyakarta faced obstacles due to low student participation. Student interest in accessing the LMS is influenced by the quality of the LMS. The results of LMS monitoring and evaluation over the past year showed an average score of 2.28 (categorized as sufficient). Courses with good LMS evaluation scores accounted for 23.6%. The development of the LMS is an effort to increase student involvement in cognitive, behavioral, emotional, and performance aspects. This research is a collaborative study on LMS development in partnership with Universiti Malaysia Pahang. The development method uses the 4D model (Define, Design, Develop, Disseminate). The measurement of learning engagement, as the impact of CLMS development, was conducted using the Online Student Engagement Scale (OSE) adapted from Dixson (2015). Data analysis employed qualitative analysis and statistical frequency distribution for each engagement component. The results showed that the average engagement of respondents at UNISA Yogyakarta before CLMS development was 74.7, and the post-test average was 78.8, indicating a score increase of 5% (4.1). Meanwhile, the average engagement score of respondents at UMP was 73.4. The effectiveness test resulted in a p-value of 0.002 (p<0.05), indicating that CLMS development is effective in improving student learning engagement. Each course is expected to develop innovative teaching media within the LMS to enhance the student learning process.

Abstract

Kertosari Village is one of the centers for “marning” corn-processed products in Situbondo. Until now there are three corn-marketing UKMs in Kertosari Village whose products are marketed outside the city, such as Banyuwangi, Malang, to Jakarta. However, so far UKMs have not implemented GMP in their production processes and tend to use makeshift production rooms with simple tools. Thus, food safety, competitiveness, and product quality are still not a priority for UKMs. The layout of the production process is not by following under GMP principles. This happened because of their limited knowledge and skills regarding GMP principles. Therefore, an extension on the application of GMP principles needs to be done to improve product quality and safety. In addition, GMP principles can also guarantee the health and safety of workers. An extension on the application of GMP principles was carried out using the focus group discussion (FGD) method. The material presented includes the concept of food safety, contamination related to processed food production, and GMP principles. The results of the extension show an increase in knowledge by 25%.

Abstract

One of the skills that must be improved in English is writing ability. Improving writing skills requires a creative teacher’s role in carrying out learning. One creative way to improve writing skills, especially the re-count text, is to use a series of images as a learning medium as described in this research. The aim of this research’s to find out whether the use of series of images is effective and can also help students in writing about recount text. This research was conducted on eleventh-grade students at MA Putri Nurul Masyithoh Lumajang in the 2023/2024 academic year. The method used was class action research (CAR). Meanwhile, in analyzing the data resulting from the treatment, the qualitative descriptive analysis method was used. The results of the research show that students' ability to write recount text can be enhanced using a series of pictures as a learning medium.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the perceptions of teachers and students regarding the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology in classroom learning activities. Specifically, it investigates how AI is perceived in terms of its effectiveness and potential integration into the educational environment. Employing a descriptive qualitative approach with a case study design, the research was conducted at SMK Bhakti Norma Husada, Nganjuk, East Java, during May to June 2025. Data were collected through Likert-scale questionnaires and semi-structured interviews, involving purposively selected teachers and randomly selected Grade X–XI students. The findings indicate that most teachers hold a positive perception toward the use of AI in education, recognizing its potential to enhance personalized learning, improve evaluation processes, and support interactive teaching methods. However, a few expressed concerns related to limited training and the possible reduction of the teacher’s role. In contrast, students’ responses were predominantly neutral, suggesting a lack of direct experience and limited understanding of AI technology. Nevertheless, a notable portion showed openness and a willingness to explore its use in learning. In conclusion, while teachers exhibit readiness to embrace AI in their instructional practices, students remain cautiously receptive. To support effective AI integration, it is essential to provide targeted training, improve digital literacy, and create opportunities for both teachers and students to engage with AI in meaningful ways. The study highlights the importance of institutional support and strategic planning in harnessing AI as a valuable educational tool.

Abstract

This study investigates the implementation of Arabic language education through a multicultural approach in Indonesia and Malaysia. It aims to compare teaching strategies, curriculum content, and the socio-cultural context that influence Arabic learning in both countries. As Arabic is not only a religious language but also a cultural bridge, its teaching can foster tolerance and respect for diversity. Using a qualitative-comparative method, data were collected through interviews, observations, and document analysis from Islamic educational institutions in both countries. The findings show that both nations share the goal of promoting inclusive values through Arabic education, though their approaches differ. Indonesia is moving toward contextual and participatory teaching, while Malaysia uses a structured system combining separation and integration models. Challenges include limited teacher training, varied student backgrounds, and lack of culturally responsive materials. Despite this, Arabic education has proven effective in shaping students’ awareness of multicultural values when designed inclusively. This research provides insights for educators and policymakers to enhance Arabic curricula as a medium for building intercultural understanding and social harmony.

Abstract

Purpose: Identify the effectiveness between Yoga and birth ball in decreasing labor pain intensity. Methods: This study used a systematic review design with the PRISMA-SR checklist. This systematic review referred to three steps, namely, (1) search strategy, (2) selection criteria, and (3) data extraction and quality assessment. The article search used 2 databases: ScienceDirect and Pubmed and ResearchRabbit. Results: Of 14 articles, 7 discuss Yoga's effectiveness in diminishing labor pain, and another 7 discuss birthing balls' efficacy in alleviating labor pain. Yoga and birth balls effectively reduce childbirth pain intensity. Conclusion: Besides, a combination of Yoga and birth ball or a combination of birth balls and counterpressure or free position when entering childbirth reduces labor pain. Yoga could also be combined with back massage, aromatherapy, or hypnosis. Future studies are expected to analyze the level of effectiveness between birthing balls and Yoga in reducing labor pain intensity in both developing and developed countries.

Abstract

Purpose: The use of long-acting reversible contraception (LARC) methods, implants, and IUDs, are assessed for cost-effectiveness, which compares cost-effectiveness in technology, environment, and health. The aim is to critically evaluate the economic evaluation of IUDs and implants based on previous scientific evidence, with a review to discuss cost-effectiveness. Methods: The literature review used was a systematic review, and PRISMA-SR 2020 was chosen as a reference for preparing the literature study. The authors used three databases, PubMed, Science Direct, and Wiley, to find scientific evidence of the cost-effectiveness of IUDs and implants. Results: The search in Pubmed (n=119), ScienceDirect (n=1,228), and Wiley (n=83) databases included (n=1,510) articles. Eighty-two articles were assessed for eligibility, and only seven were eligible according to the inclusion criteria for further review. Conclusion: IUDs and implants are two highly effective long-term contraceptive methods for preventing pregnancy, so using IUDs is more cost-effective than implant contraception based on scientific articles that meet the inclusion criteria.
