Abstract

The essential need for character education development in the Operational Curriculum of Educational Units (KOSP) at SDN 3 Pagentan and SDN 2 Wonorejo is evident. However, the existing KOSP documents, initially adapted from another school due to a lack of knowledge in KOSP development, do not fully align with the characteristics and needs of the school community. This service empowers teachers in both schools to enhance their understanding of KOSP and develop documents enriched with the Strengthening Project for the Profile of Pancasila-Rahmatan lil Alamin Students (P5-RA), considering each school's unique characteristics and needs. Using a participatory action research (PAR) approach, the service involves problem identification, analysis, action preparation, program socialisation, implementation, and monitoring and evaluation. The instruments include tests and assessment rubrics, revealing a significant improvement in teachers' knowledge of KOSP, with scores increasing from 71 to 80 in the moderate category. The service activities also produce a grand design of character integrated into KOSP documents enriched with P5-RA, developed by teachers in both schools based on their unique characteristics and needs. In summary, this service positively impacts teachers' knowledge and optimises the availability of KOSP documents enriched with P5-RA as guidelines for strengthening character education in schools.

Abstract

Abstract

Creative thinking skills are an essential 21st-century competency that needs to be developed from the elementary school level. This study aims to analyze the effect of implementing the Project Based Learning (PjBL) model on the creative thinking skills of fourth-grade elementary school students. The research employed a quantitative method with a one-group pre-test-post-test design. The participants consisted of 25 students from one elementary school in Lamongan. The instrument used was an essay test to measure creative thinking skills, which had met the validity and reliability tests. The results of the Shapiro-Wilk normality test indicated that the data were normally distributed (pre-test = 0.061; post-test = 0.189). Data analysis using a Paired Sample t-test in SPSS version 25 yielded a significance value of 0.000 (p < 0.05), indicating that H₀ was rejected and Hₐ was accepted. This finding proves a significant effect of the PjBL model on improving students' creative thinking skills, as reflected in the increase in the average score from 43.4 (pre-test) to 80.24 (post-test). These results imply that PjBL can be relied upon as an effective learning model to foster students' creative thinking skills in science learning contexts, particularly on the topic of energy transformation.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of pair programming in coding lessons on enhancing elementary school students’ creative thinking skills. The research employed a quasi-experimental method with a nonequivalent control group design involving 44 elementary school students participating in a coding learning program. The subjects were divided into two groups: an experimental group learning through pair programming and a control group learning using the conventional direct instruction method. The research instrument used the Torrance Tests of Creative Thinking (TTCT) Figural A to measure three indicators of creative thinking: fluency, originality, and elaboration. Data analysis was conducted using paired sample t-tests and the Wilcoxon signed-rank test. The results showed a significant improvement in creative thinking skills in the experimental group compared to the control group, particularly in the fluency and originality indicators. However, the improvement in the elaboration indicator was not significant. These findings indicate that pair programming is an effective learning strategy to stimulate creative thinking in coding lessons at the elementary school level, especially in terms of idea fluency and originali.ty.

Abstract

This study examines methodological approaches and analytical practices in qualitative case study research within educational contexts. The increasing diversity in the interpretation and implementation of case study research has created methodological inconsistencies, particularly in research design, data collection, and data analysis procedures. Therefore, this systematic review aims to identify methodological characteristics, classify case study approaches, and analyze analytical practices employed in qualitative educational case study research. This study employed a systematic literature review guided by the PRISMA framework. Articles were retrieved from Scopus-indexed journals published between 2018 and 2023. The selected studies were analyzed based on research design, participant selection, data collection techniques, and data analysis procedures. The findings reveal that qualitative case study research in education predominantly employs semi-structured interviews, observations, and document analysis as primary data sources. Thematic analysis, coding procedures, and triangulation techniques were frequently used to enhance data validity and interpretation. The review also identified variations in the classification and implementation of intrinsic, instrumental, explanatory, and exploratory case studies. These findings highlight the importance of methodological rigor and conceptual clarity in conducting qualitative case study research in educational settings.
