Abstract

Background : Hypertension is one of the leading causes of death in the world. World Health Organiation 2019 predicts the prevalence of hypertension in the world by 22% and the Southeast Asian region is ranked third with a prevelence of 25% of the total population, the results of Basic Health Research (Riskesdas) in 2018 showed that, the prevalence of hypertension in Indonesia is 34.11% and the prevalence of hypertension in South Sumatra is 30.44%. The Purpose : The purspose of the study was to find a effect of giving banana and melon smoothies to blood pressure in elderly people with hypertension in the sukarami health center in Palembang. Methods : With this type of research is pseudo experimentation (Quasi Experimentation). With pretest research design – Treatment – Postest with group control. The number of samples in this study was 60 people with 30 as a treatment group and 30 people in the comparison group. Results : The results of this study showed based on the age of most hypertensive patients in palembangsukarami health center aged 55-64 years. Based on gender as a large part is female. Energy Intake, Protein, Fat, Carbohydrates in the good category while for the intake of potassium and vitamin C in the category of less, sodium intake is mostly low salt diet 3. The results of statistical tests show (p<0.05) that there is an influence of banana and melon smoothies on blood pressure in elderly people with hypertension in Palembang Sukarami health center. Conclusion : Consumption of banana smoothies and melons regularly affects the decrease in blood pressure of hypertensive patients

Abstract

Background : Anemia in adolescents is one of the nutritional problems in Indonesia. The main cause is related to the intake of nutrients, especially energy and protein, as well as the consumption of vegetables and fruit. The Purpose : This study aims to determine the intake of energy, protein, and consumption of vegetables and fruit in adolescents and anemia status in adolescents. Methods : This study used a cross-sectional design, sampling was done by simple random sampling. The research location is in SMP Muhammadiyah 4 Palembang. Results : The results showed that respondents with normal hemoglobin (Hb) status, which was 61.5%, and 53.8% less nutritional knowledge. Lack of energy intake by 57.7%. A good intake of animal protein was 69.2% and a vegetable protein intake of less category was 78.8%. Good fat intake is 53.8%. Less carbohydrate intake by 55.8%. Vegetable consumption is less than the requirement of 71.2%. Consumption of fruit is less than the requirement of 63.5%. respondents with normal Hb status had good nutritional knowledge of 83.3%, a good energy intake of 63.3%, good animal protein intake of 72.2%, good vegetable protein intake of 90.9%, a low fat intake of 79, 2%, good carbohydrate intake is 78.0%, good vegetable consumption is 73.3%, good fruit intake is 73%. Respondents with less energy and protein intake tend to experience anemia. Conclusion : Adolescents with less consumption of vegetables and fruit tend to have the anemic status

Abstract

Background: Diabetes mellitus is a degenerative disease caused by a lack of the hormone insulin, or the ineffectiveness of the body to use insulin which is indicated by the blood sugar level at ≥200 mg / dl. The manufacture of enteral formulas based on pumpkin flour and catfish meal is expected to be an alternative enteral food for people with diabetes mellitus.Purpose: The purpose of the study was to examine the effect of enteral diabetes mellitus formula based on pumpkin flour (cucurbitamoschata) and catfish meal (clariasgariepinus) on blood sugar levels in patients with diabetes mellitus at Charitas Hospital Palembang. Methods: This study useda pretest-posttest with two group research design. The number of samples of organoleptic test panelists as many as 30 people who were outpatient DM patients and 30 people each intervention sample for the treatment group and the comparison group were inpatients at Charitas Hospital Palembang Results:The results of data analysis using the dependent t-test showed that the average glucose levels before treatment in the treatment group were 192.24 mg/dl and 179.14 mg/dl in the comparison group. The average blood glucose after treatment in the treatment group was 177.61 mg/dl and in the comparison group was 190.02 mg/dl. Meanwhile, the independent sample t-test showed the difference in the average blood glucose level in the treatment group was 43.94 mg/dl and the comparison group was -13.86 mg/dl (p-value = 0.005). Conclusion:Administration of enteral DM formula based on pumpkin flour and catfish meal has an effect on blood glucose in DM patients.

Abstract

Latar Belakang : Gizi kurang merupakan salah satu penyakit tidak menular. Keadaan gizi kurang pada anak dapat dilihat jika nilai z-score yang diperoleh adalah -3 s/d <-2 SD. Keadaan gizi kurang pada anak-anak akan berdampak pada pertumbuhan dan perkembangan anak. Sebab itu, anak gizi kurang memiliki keterbatasan untuk belajar dan bekerja serta bersikap dibanding dengan anak normal. Prevalensi wasting pada anak usia 5-12 tahun berdasarkan Indeks IMT/U di Provinsi Sumatera Selatan sebesar 10,8 % terdiri dari 4,4 % sangat kurus dan 6,4 % kurus.Tujuan :Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui perbedaan perubahan berat badan anak gizi kurang pada siswa sekolah dasar yang mendapatkan clarhiz cookies dengan original cookies.Metode : Jenis penelitian ini adalah quasi eksperiment (eksperimen semu) dengan desain penelitian pretest posttest with two group. Sampel berjumah 60 anak gizi kurang yang dibagi dua kelompok yaitu perlakuan yang mendapatkan clarhiz cookies dan kelompok pembanding yang mendapatkan original cookies dengan menggunakan metode proporsional strarified quota sampling.Hasil : Hasil analisis data menggunakan paired sample t-test dengan selisih rata-rata kenaikan berat badan kelompok perlakuan 0,62 kg (p-value =0,000) dan kelompok pembanding 0,18 kg (p-value =0,000). Sedangkan hasil independent sample t-test adalah p-value =0,000.Kesimpulan : ada perbedaan pemberian clarhiz cookies dengan original cookies terhadap perubahan berat badan anak gizi kurang pada siswa sekolah dasar.

Abstract

Stunting is one of the nutritional problems that have an impact on children's intelligence in the future. Handling stunting requires support from various parties, one of which is community leaders. This community service activity aims to invite community leaders to be actively involved in handling and preventing stunting. Community service activities begin by carrying out the Village Community Deliberation (MMD) which aims to convey existing problems and together find solutions to solve these problems. The method used in MMD activities is discussion and question and answer with community leaders. There are several activities agreed upon in the village community deliberations, namely: training and refreshment of cadres, nutrition counseling, home visits and training to make additional food from local food ingredients. The results of this community service activity show that there is an increase in the knowledge of mothers and cadres about nutrition and health as well as skills in making additional food from local food ingredients.

Abstract

Toddlers often nibble on items like candy, wafers, cakes, and biscuits. These foods include sucrose, which lowers salivary buffer capacity and increases the risk of tooth decay. Dental caries affects children's nutritional status, prolongs health issues, and interferes with their growth and development by causing pain, making it difficult for them to chew food, and making them cranky. The first way parents can learn about their child's development and progress is through integrated service post. Senduduk fruit, which is abundant in Pipa Putih Village, is rich in flavonoids, saponins, tannins, glycosides, and steroids/triterpenoids. Fruit extract from Senduduk is capable of preventing bacteria from colonizing and plaque from growing on teeth. The purpose of community service is to enable early childhood education teacher cadres and instructors to prepare Senduduk jelly, which helps shield kids' teeth from cavities. Activities included creating a location survey, simulating the creation of Senduduk jelly candy and presenting it to early childhood education cadres and teachers, distributing prepared goods and Senduduk jelly candy recipe pamphlets. The exercise concluded with an assessment of the cadres' performance in a simulated scenario including the preparation of Senduduk jelly for moms attending the Integrated service post. Based on the evaluation results, the understanding of early childhood education cadres and teachers regarding making sedunia jelly can be done well. The average knowledge results of early childhood education cadres and teachers increased from 62 to 78.

Abstract

Manifestations of lifestyle changes are physical activity, and changes in unhealthy eating patterns including a diet high in fat, carbohydrates, and low fiber intake one of the reasons for degenerative diseases, namely dyslipidemia. The cause of changes in blood lipid profiles is a diet that can be influenced by nutritional knowledge and a person's attitude. The older the age, the lower the body's metabolic function. For this reason, the target of this community service activity is the elderly. The purpose of this study was to determine the knowledge and skills of the community through education about healthy lifestyles in an effort to prevent dyslipidemia and control blood lipid levels in members and cadres of the Teratai Elderly Integrated Healthcare Center in the Work Area of the Palembang Social Health Center. The activity was carried out at the Integrated Healthcare Center which has elderly members under the guidance of the Palembang Social Health Center. Community service activities were carried out 2 times in Nutrition Education in the form of espionage and counseling for Integrated Healthcare Center members and 1 training for Posyandu cadres. From the results of measuring cholesterol levels, 10 people (32.25%) with cholesterol levels above normal. In addition, this community service activity is expected to increase the knowledge of nutrition and health for elderly Integrated Healthcare Center members and Teratai Integrated Healthcare Center cadres about balanced nutrition and how to make fruit and vegetable smoothies in preventing dyslipidemia.

Abstract

Kekurangan energi kronis (KEK) pada remaja putri disebabkan oleh asupan energi dan protein yang kurang. Hasil penelitian tahun 2019, skrining pada siswi SMA Muhammadiyah 1 Palembang yang berumur 15-17 tahun didapatkan 42,6% siswi berisiko KEK. Pada siswi yang berisiko KEK ditemukan asupan zat gizi makro (energi, protein, lemak dan karbohidrat) kurang dari 50%. Pemberian edukasi berupa penyuluhan kepada siswi yang berisiko KEK merupakan salah satu upaya yang dapat dilakukan guna memberikan pengetahuan tentang gizi seimbang, makanan yang dapat meningkatkan status gizi serta memberikan kesadaran kepada siswi akan pentingnya makanan yang bergizi. Selain itu siswi juga diberikan buku saku mengenai peningkatan status gizi dan gizi seimbang. Hasil dari pretest rata-rata mengenai pengetahuan gizi siswi yaitu 58,37 dan mengalami peningkatan pada hasil postest menjadi 74,29. Dari 43 siswi yang diukur status gizinya ditemukan 30 siswi menderita kurang energi kronis atau sebanyak 69,77% peserta pengabmas. Masing-masing siswi peserta pengabmas selain diberikan edukasi berupa penyuluhan sebanyak 2 kali juga diberikan buku saku mengenai KEK dan asupan gizi seimbang untuk remaja.

Abstract

Stunting is a major issue affecting children's growth and development, particularly cognitive function, which impacts future human resources. Therefore, effective handling of stunting is essential. Muara Enim Regency, in South Sumatra, has a high prevalence of stunting. The 2018 Riskesdas reported a 34.4% stunting rate in Muara Enim, higher than both South Sumatra (32%) and the national average (30.8%). In 2021, the prevalence was 29.7%, making it the third highest in South Sumatra. Research by Susyani et al. (2022) found that 9.6% of children under five in Muara Enim were very short, and 23.5% were short. Additionally, 62.1% of toddlers visited the integrated services post less than 8 times a year. To address this, community service activities were carried out to refresh the skills of integrated services post cadres. The aim was to increase their knowledge and abilities in monitoring child growth, screening the nutritional status of toddlers, women of childbearing age, and pregnant women, to prevent and reduce stunting. After the training, there was a 19.9-point increase in cadres' knowledge. This service is expected to further enhance the capabilities of integrated services post cadres in addressing stunting in Muara Enim.
