Abstract

This study analyzes corporate liability for environmental crimes within industrial supply chains in Indonesia through a normative legal approach integrating criminal and administrative law perspectives. The research examines the adequacy of the existing legal framework, particularly Law No. 32 of 2009 on Environmental Protection and Management, in addressing corporate accountability for environmental harm. By applying statutory, conceptual, and case approaches, this study identifies key challenges in enforcement, including difficulties in proving corporate intent, fragmentation of responsibility within supply chains, and the predominance of administrative sanctions over criminal prosecution. The findings indicate that although Indonesian law formally recognizes corporate criminal liability and incorporates strict liability principles, practical implementation remains limited due to evidentiary constraints, institutional weaknesses, and regulatory gaps. Furthermore, the complexity of industrial supply chains enables corporations to diffuse responsibility through subcontracting and outsourcing practices. This study proposes an integrated liability model that strengthens coordination between criminal and administrative enforcement, expands corporate responsibility across supply chains, and enhances the deterrent effect of sanctions. The study contributes to legal scholarship by offering a holistic framework for corporate environmental accountability and provides policy recommendations to support sustainable industrial governance in Indonesia.

Abstract

This study examines the legal liability of digital platforms in the dissemination of illegal content through a normative legal analysis, with a particular focus on reconstructing a framework that effectively protects citizens’ rights. The rapid growth of digital platforms such as Google, Meta Platforms, and TikTok has intensified challenges related to intermediary responsibility, as these platforms increasingly function not only as passive conduits but also as active amplifiers of information. Existing liability regimes, primarily based on notice-and-takedown mechanisms, are found to be insufficient in addressing the scale and complexity of illegal content dissemination. Using primary, secondary, and tertiary legal materials, this research analyzes current regulatory frameworks and identifies key gaps, particularly in terms of legal clarity, enforcement effectiveness, and the protection of fundamental rights. The study highlights the tension between safeguarding freedom of expression and ensuring protection against harmful content, noting that both under-regulation and over-regulation pose risks to citizens’ rights. Comparative insights, including developments under the Digital Services Act, demonstrate a shift toward more proactive and structured approaches to platform accountability. The study proposes a reconstructed liability framework based on the principles of proportionality, due diligence, transparency, and effective remedy. This model seeks to balance platform accountability with the protection of fundamental rights, offering a more adaptive and rights-oriented approach to digital governance. The findings contribute to the development of legal policies that align technological advancement with the protection of citizens in the digital era.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of sustainability orientation and eco-friendly promotion on marketing performance and brand reputation of eco-friendly miscro, small and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) in Bandung. In the context of increasing environmental awareness and competitive market dynamics, MSMEs are required to adopt sustainable practices and communicate them effectively to enhance both performance and public perception. This research employs a quantitative approach using primary data collected from 180 MSMEs owners and managers through a structured questionnaire based on a Likert scale. The data were analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling–Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS) version 3. The results indicate that sustainability orientation has a positive and significant effect on marketing performance and brand reputation. Eco-friendly promotion also shows a significant and stronger influence on marketing performance and brand reputation. Furthermore, marketing performance has a positive effect on brand reputation and serves as a mediating variable in the relationship between sustainability orientation, eco-friendly promotion, and brand reputation. The model demonstrates strong explanatory and predictive power, indicating that sustainability-driven strategies are critical for enhancing business outcomes. This study contributes to the literature by providing empirical evidence on the integration of sustainability and marketing strategies in MSMEs, particularly in developing countries. Practically, the findings offer strategic insights for MSMEs owners to improve competitiveness and long-term brand value through sustainable practices.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the influence of culinary experience quality and the authenticity of local food on word of mouth (WOM) and memorable tourism experiences (MTE) in the context of culinary tourism in Bandung. A quantitative approach was employed using data collected from 250 respondents who had participated in culinary tourism activities in Bandung. Data were gathered through a structured questionnaire using a five-point Likert scale and analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling–Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS-3). The results indicate that culinary experience quality and food authenticity both have significant positive effects on memorable tourism experiences and word of mouth. Additionally, memorable tourism experiences significantly influence word of mouth and act as a mediating variable in the relationship between culinary experience quality, food authenticity, and WOM. The model demonstrates strong explanatory power, with R² values of 0.682 for MTE and 0.741 for WOM. These findings highlight that high-quality and authentic culinary experiences not only enhance tourists’ memories but also encourage them to share positive experiences with others. This study contributes to the literature by integrating experiential and authenticity perspectives in culinary tourism research. Practically, the findings provide insights for tourism stakeholders in Bandung to enhance service quality, preserve culinary authenticity, and create memorable experiences to strengthen destination competitiveness and stimulate positive word of mouth.

Abstract

The objective of the current study is to investigate the intellectual structure, evolution of themes, and research collaboration within the research area of climate change adaptation finance through bibliometric analysis. In this regard, data were gathered from the Scopus database and analyzed through VOSviewer in order to investigate co-authorship network structure, citation network structure, and keywords cocitation patterns. It was found that the conceptual development of the research area takes place in the context of core themes, such as climate change, adaptation, and finance; however, it also evolves beyond these themes into interdisciplinarity of topics, such as risk management, sustainability, governance, and environmental economics. The trend in the analysis of keywords demonstrates the evolution of research themes from the initial focus on economy and policy to the later focus on investment, adaptive management, and adaptation in specific sectors. Finally, the analysis of co-authorship and institutional affiliations demonstrates that the research area of climate change adaptation finance is concentrated within a limited number of clusters with contributions coming primarily from the United States and other institutions; however, the participation of developing countries in this research area is increasing.
