Abstract

This study explores the need to enhance Cash Waqf Linked Sukuk (CWLS) literacy to promote its development in Indonesia. As an innovative instrument linking cash waqf with sukuk, CWLS has the potential to drive sustainable social and economic growth. However, limited public awareness hinders its adoption. Using bibliometric analysis and digital trend data from tools like Publish or Perish (PoP) and Vosviewer, this research identifies gaps in CWLS literature and societal literacy. Data collected from PoP, focusing on the keyword "CWLS from 2018 to 2025," revealed 175 publications, 1,330 citations, an h-index of 7, g-index of 190, and an average of 845.97 citations per year. Network visualization analysis showed that topics related to individual intention and role in CWLS literacy had low occurrences (12 and 11, totally only 23 occurrences) in Cluster 3, compared to Cluster 1, which had 161 occurrences. Additionally, no significant direct relationship was found between the role variable from Cluster 3 and the BWI (Indonesian Waqf Board) variable from Cluster 1, indicating a conceptual gap in understanding the roles of individuals and institutions in CWLS literacy. These findings underline the need for improved CWLS literacy campaigns, particularly through collaboration between BWI and stakeholders. This study contributes to Islamic economics literature and provides strategies to enhance CWLS literacy and implementation in Indonesia.

Abstract

Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) treatment has gained significant attention as a cosmetic procedure in recent years, becoming a sought-after method for enhancing skin quality. Offered extensively in beauty clinics, both men and women pursue PRP treatment to reduce wrinkles, improve facial scars, and achieve a more youthful radiance. This procedure involves drawing a patient’s blood, processing it to isolate the plasma, and then injecting it into the facial area to stimulate collagen production and skin rejuvenation. This study explores the practice of PRP treatment in beauty clinics and examines its legal status from the perspective of contemporary Islamic jurisprudence (fiqh). Using a qualitative descriptive method and a library research approach, it analyzes primary sources such as the Qur’an, Hadith, and classical Islamic texts, complemented by secondary sources including modern scholarly literature. The research aims to assess whether PRP treatment aligns with Islamic ethical and legal principles. Findings indicate that, according to contemporary fiqh, PRP treatment performed for non-essential (tahsiniy) cosmetic purposes is deemed impermissible (haram). However, when used for medical or necessary (dharuriy) purposes, such as treating severe skin conditions or injuries, it may be considered permissible. This conclusion is drawn from scholarly ijtihad, fatwas issued by the Indonesian Council of Ulama (MUI), and the principles of Maqasid al-Shariah. The study highlights the need for further scholarly discourse to establish clear legal guidelines regarding PRP treatment, ensuring a well-informed approach that aligns with Islamic principles.

Abstract

This research examines the concept of good fathering in the story of the Prophet Jacob and its contextualization in the concept of modern parenting. This type of research is library research by collecting verses from the Quran and related hadiths, so the method used is the  thematic (maudhu'i) method. The data was analyzed using qualitative content analysis in accordance with the procedures in the maudhu'i interpretation method, namely categorizing the collected data into sub-themes, then structuring and analyzing them. The results of this research are: First, the concept of good fathering contained in the story of the prophet Ya'qub is reflected in his role as a successful father in educating, caring for and accompanying his children who have diverse behavior, and successfully manage problems between siblings. The principles of good fathering that can be taken from the story of the Prophet Jacob are, the function of father as educator (QS 12: 17, 18, 83-87, 94-98), father as protector (QS 12: 4-5, 63-67), father as decision maker (QS 12: 67, 87), father as guardian of harmonious family relationships (QS 12: 17-18, 83-87, 94-98), and father as director of the family vision (QS 12: 38). Second, the concept of good fathering of the Prophet Jacob is very relevant to be contextualized in modern parenting. Prophet Jacob educated his children using a democratic-authoritative parenting model, which prioritizes dialogue with patience and affection. This type of parenting model is very relevant to be applied to raising children amidst the current liberal parenting model in the modern era today.

Abstract

Iddah is one of the consequences that women must undergo after a divorce, whether in divorce due to divorce, or divorce due to death. The Quranic provision on iddah is an absolute provision that must be followed. The legal basis for iddah is found in the Qur'an letter Al-Baqarah verse 228, letter Al-Ahzab verse 49. Iddah obligations are also regulated in the Compilation of Islamic Law (KHI) in article 170 paragraph 1 the wife is obliged to observe the iddah period, while in article 170 paragraph 2 it is explained that men observe the iddah period according to propriety. Of course, this has experienced problems in terms of relations between husband, wife and children, the families concerned, and women again experience discrimination where women have to run the iddah period according to a predetermined time while men do not run this appropriate term there is no specification of the length of time that is run, it seems that it is only a formality. The purpose of this research is to find out whether syibul iddah is a form of justice for women, to find out the impact of benefits for women and men with the existence of syibhul iddah in the view of maslahah mursalah and syibhul iddah as legal reform (social engineering) in Indonesia. This paper uses a library research method, using a descriptive analysis approach, namely by describing the text in KHI and other regulations in Indonesia regarding the existence of iddah then analysed using mubadalah. From this explanation, the result of the author's analysis is that syibhul iddah has a good impact on household relations because it provides justice for women and also provides benefits for the prevention of covert polygamy against women. Syibhul Iddah is needed in life as a legal reform (social engineering). Keywords: Syibhul Iddah, Mubadalah, Maslahah Mursalah, Social Engineering.

Abstract

Building effective global leaders is crucial for an organization to remain competitive. While fundamental traits like personality have always been important in the context of leadership, the use of the HEXACO model in Indonesian organizational leadership development is relatively new. This research examines the impact of HEXACO traits on the leadership effectiveness of lecturers who also serve as academic leaders at one of Indonesia’s Islamic higher education institutions, which is ranked among the top 40 religious-based universities worldwide, according to uniRank 2024. A total of 147 valid responses were garnered and analyzed descriptively using Structural Equation Modelling (SEM) with AMOS. The results show that extraversion, agreeableness, and openness to experience positively influence leadership effectiveness, while honesty-humility, emotionality, and conscientiousness have no significant effect. Although honesty and humility are important values that support ethical behavior, global leaders require the ability to influence and adapt, be flexible, and be creatively innovative. Additionally, overly conscientious leaders tend to be inflexible and emotionally high-stress during critical moments, which makes them less dependable.

Abstract

This study aimed to explore the significant role played by Islamic waqf in advancing healthcare services as part of the broader effort to achieve Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) introduced by the United Nations, particularly SDG 3 on good health and well-being. The purpose of this exploration is simply to analyze how waqf functions as a sustainable financial mechanism in funding hospitals, supporting medical studies, and delivering essential health services to marginalized populations in Muslim communities. Adopting a descriptive-analytical methodology, this study draws on primary and secondary data sources, including waqf management reports, government publications, health policy documents, and peer-reviewed academic literature. Furthermore, case studies from Brunei Darussalam, Indonesia, Malaysia, and Turkey were used to show practical implementations of health-related waqf initiatives. The obtained results showed that waqf significantly contributed to addressing healthcare gaps, reducing inequality, and promoting equitable access to medical services. During the course of the investigation, Waqf institutions were found to embody Islamic principles of stewardship (istikhlāf) and reform (iṣlāḥ), offering a faith-based approach that corresponded with contemporary development frameworks. This study presents an original contribution through its integration of Islamic legal thought and global development paradigms, culminating in a conceptual model for health-waqf correspondence with SDGs targets. The obtained results showed that revitalizing health-focused waqf initiatives can strengthen public health systems in Muslim-majority communities, thereby providing an ethical, culturally resonant, and economically viable path toward sustainable development.

Abstract

Provisions in the transfer of property from people who died to those who were left behind, by the Fuqaha' are named as al-faraid, and or in Indonesia it is better known as Islamic inheritance law. The concept of justice in the distribution of inheritance is still a topic of discussion among the public. The zahir provisions of the Koranic texts that give men a larger share of inheritance than women and ignore equality pose a complicated problem faced by Muslims in various countries. This is because of the invisible Maslahah that is obtained by each heir. This study aims to analyze the concept of benefit in justice contained in Islamic inheritance law to answer contradictory arguments in determining benefit in the form of justice in Islamic inheritance law. This research is a literature review/research with documentation as a data collection method. Philosophical and normative approaches are being used in analyzing data, especially Islamic legal norms which are sourced from the Koran and Hadith. The results of this study indicate that in the distribution of inheritance, Islam is very concerned and even prioritizes the principles of Maslahah and justice for each heir. There is no assumption that Islamic inheritance law does not apply fairly and leads to discrimination against women, because justice has been proven on the side of benefit in the practice of dividing Islamic inheritance.
