Abstract

The study's objectives were to determine whether or not there was any significant achievement on students' reading comprehension between students taught by PSRA Strategy, (2) whether or not there was any significant achievement on students' reading comprehension taught by QAR Strategy, and (3) whether or not there was any significant difference in students' reading comprehension achievement between students taught by PSRA Strategy and QA Strategy. The study's population consisted of all tenth grade students at SMAN 4 Kota Jambi during the academic year 2021/2022. The samples were collected by two classes, each with 32 students. This study used a quasi-experimental design with two groups of students. Cluster Sampling was used as a sampling technique. For In order to collect data, the test was given twice, once before and once after. The findings revealed that both the PSRA strategy and the QAR strategy had a significant impact on students' reading achievement in each class. Based on the data, it was discovered that the students' mean post-test score in the experimental group who were taught using the PSRA Strategy was 84.63 and the students' mean post-test score in the control group who were taught using the QAR Strategy was 79.70. However, based on the independent sample t-test analysis, the t-obtained (3.216) was found to be greater than the t-table (1.671), indicating that the null Hypothesis (Ho) was rejected and the alternative Hypothesis (Ha) was accepted. It indicates that there was a significant difference in students' reading comprehension achievement between those taught using the PSRA Strategy and those taught using the QAR Strategy. Furthermore, the students' score achievement when using the PSRA strategy is greater than the students' score achievement when using the QAR strategy. Finally, the PSRA strategy is more significant than the QAR strategy.

Abstract

The composition of waste in Jambi City is dominated by plantation waste and plastic waste, if not managed properly, it can have a negative impact on the environment. There is a need for alternatives to processing plastic waste and plantation waste, one of which is the catalytic cracking process to produce alternative fuels. The catalyst used is petroleum refining industry waste that can be reused. This study aims to analyze the characteristics of FCC (Fluid Catalytic Cracking) catalysts and the effect of the ratio of Polyethylene Terephthalate (PET) plastic waste and Oil Palm Empty Fruit Bunches (OPEFB) on the percentage of products produced. The experimental design used in this study was a Complete Randomized Design (RAL) with variations in the ratio of PET plastic : oil palm empty fruit bunches, namely 1:0, 1:1, 1:2, and 1:3 at a temperature of 450°C and a time of 40 minutes. The results of the analysis showed that spent FCC catalysts were predicted to contain zeolite Y (rich in silica) which had a pore structure of different sizes, while the ratio of PET plastic waste and oil palm empty fruit bunches had a significant effect on the percentage of cracking liquid, charcoal, and gas. The 1:3 ratio treatment resulted in the highest percentage of cracking oil and charcoal at 27.85% and 34.41%. While the percentage of gas was the highest in the 1:0 treatment, which was 82.12%. Abstract

This research was conducted to describe the effectiveness of the use of the acrostic technique in teaching poetry writing at MTS Labor UIN STS Jambi. Issues in poetry writing at MTS Labor UIN STS Jambi can still be found, one of which is that students are not interested in writing poetry because it is difficult to determine the next word in writing poetry. The acrostic technique is a technique that makes it easier to write poetry. The method used was a quantitative type of quasi-experiment design with a one group pretest-posttest setting. Data analysis techniques used inferential statistics in the form of a t-test, preceded by a Homogeneity Test and a Normality Test. The results of the research showed a significant difference between the pretest and posttest results of students' poetry writing, where the significance value of the t-test obtained was 0.00, which was less than 0.05. This proves that the acrostic technique is effective in teaching poetry writing. Student difficulties in composing poetry can be overcome by using the acrostic technique. This research is limited by a short time. So it is hoped that future research can cnduct research with a longer time and combined with other learning models or approaches.Keywords: Effectiveness, Acrostic technique, poetry

Abstract

Penelitian ini mengkaji tentang penggunaan media gambar berseri terhadap rendahnya kemampuan menulis teks fabel pada siswa. Tujuan dari penelitian ini untuk mendeskripsikan pengaruh penggunann media media gambar berseri terhadap kemampuan menulis teks fabel pada siswa kelas VII MTs Muhammadiyah Kota Jambi tahun ajaran 2022/2023. Penelitian ini dilakukan di MTs Muhammadiyah Kota Jambi kelas VII A sebagai kelas eksperimen dan kelas VII B sebagai kelas kontrol. Metode penelitian ini menggunakan penelitian kuantitatif dengan jenis penelitian kuantitatif semu atau quasi eksperimen. Hasil penelitian ini membuktikan bahwa adanya perubahan dari hasil menulis siswa setelah diberi perlakuan pada kelas eksperimen. Pada hasil pre-test diperoleh nilai rata-rata siswa sebesar 64,17, sedangkan pada hasil post-test diperoleh nilai rata-rata siswa sebesar 86,67 dan nilai Sig. 0,000. Hal ini menunjukan adanya pengaruh dari penggunaan media gambar berseri terhadap kemampuan menulis teks fabel pada siswa kelas VII MTs Muhammadiyah Kota Jambi. Dari hasil tersebut, disarankan agar pembelajaran menulis teks fabel perlu menggunakan media gambar berseri terhadap kemampuan menulis teks fabel pada siswa dan untuk peneliti lanjutan disarankan untuk dapat mengembangkan penggunaan media gambar berseri dengan menerapkan di materi lain yang belum perna dicoba dalam pembelajaran menulis agar dapat mengembangkan dan meningkatkan pengetahuan di bidang pendidikan. Kata kunci: gambar berseri, menulis, teks fabel

Abstract

COVID-19 atau Corona Virus Disease tahun 2019 merupakan penyakit menular yang disebabkan oleh coronavirus jenis baru. Coronavirus (CoV) adalah keluarga besar dari virus yang bisa menyebabkan berbagai gejala ringan hingga berat. Budaya atau disebut juga sebagai kultur, adalah sikap hidup manusia dalam berhubungan secara timbal balik dengan alam, lingkungan hidupnya, yang di dalamnya sudah tercakup segala hasil dari cipta, rasa, karsa, dan karya baik dilihat secara konsep fisik berupa materil maupun psikologis dan spiritual (Ranjabar, 2006). Metode yang digunakan dalam penulisan artikel ini adalah literatur review. Hasil dari studi literatur untuk mengalokasikan referensi yang relevan dengan perumusan masalah yang ada. Adanya pandemi Covid-19 mengakibatkan beberapa kegiatan masyarakat menjadi terhambat, mengalami penurunan dan tidak berjalan secara maksimal seperti sebelum pandemi. Adapun dampak negatif dari adanya pandemi Covid-19 terhadap kehidupan sosial budaya dan keagamaan. Kehidupan sosial budaya dan keagamaan bergantung pada kegiatan yang dilaksanakan oleh agama. Namun, pelaksanaannya saat ini terpaksa dibatasi untuk mengurangi penyebaran virus Covid-19. (Murdiana, 2021).

Abstract

The problem of this study is “Is there any significant difference on writing achievement between the eighth grade students of SMP N 26 Palembang who are taught by using scramble sentence method and those who are not?”. This research applied quantitative method namely quasi experimental design and used simple random sampling. The writer used writing rubric to collect data and analyzed the result of test by using paired sample t-test and independent simple t-test. Total number of population was 303 students which is VIII.3 as control group and VIII.I, as experimental group. Based on the result of this study, the mean score in post test score were 73.44 for control group and 76.09 for experimental group. The result of the independent sample t-test shows the value of sig. (2-tailed) was 0.01 < 0.05 at the level of significant 0.05. While, the value of t-obtained was 2.415 higher than the critical value of t-table was 1.665 with degree of freedom 62, can be concluded that the null hypothesis was rejected and the alternative hypothesis was accepted.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan kesalahan berbahasa tataran semantik dalam teks akademik mahasiswa Thailand di Universtas Jambi serta mengetahui faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi kesalahan berbahasa dalam teks akademik mahasiswa Thailand di Universitas Jambi. Jenis penelitian ini adalah kualitatif dengan pendekatan analisis isi (content analysis). Data penelitian diperoleh dari teks akademik dalam bentuk makalah yang dihasilkan oleh mahasiswa Thailand dengan tema yang telahditentukan oleh peneliti. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan cara pemberian tugas kepada mahasiswa asing dari Thailand. Kemudian, dilakukan analisis data dengan menggunakan langkah-langkah analisis isi (Krippendorff, 1993) yang meliputi; (1) pengadaan data; (2) menentukan kategori atau kode yang akan digunakan dalam menganalisis; (3) melakukan pengkodean data dan klasifikasi data; (4) menghitung dan memperingkat setiap kategori kesalahan semantik; dan (5) membuat kesimpulan. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian yang telah dilakukan, ditemukan kesalahan berbahasa yang paling banyak terjadi dalam teks akademik mahasiswa Thailand di Universitas Jambi yaitu pilihan kata atau diksi yang tidak tepat, kemudian diikuti oleh pleonasme, ambiguitas, dan hiperkorek.

Abstract

Research Objectives: 1) To partially analyze the influence of the school environment on student learning achievement; 2) To partially analyze the influence of teacher communication on student learning achievement; 3) To analyze the influence of student learning motivation on student learning achievement partially; and 4) To analyze the influence of the school environment, teacher communication and learning motivation on student learning achievement simultaneously. This research is included in the associative causality group. It is classified as associative because this research aims to determine whether or not there is a relationship between the variables being studied. It is categorized as causality, because this research aims to find out whether the observed variables have a certain causal relationship as predicted theoretically. The method used is a quantitative method. The results of this research conclude: 1) the school environment has a partial influence on student learning achievement; 2) teacher communication has a partial influence on student learning achievement; 3) student learning motivation has a partial influence on student learning achievement; 4) the school environment, teacher communication, and student learning motivation have an influence on student learning achievement simultaneously.

Abstract

The research was conducted as a potential means to address the issues about low student learning outcomes, especially in cognitive abilities. Facts show that the score was still below the minimum mastery criteria of 75, especially in the field of social science for sixth-grade students. Social studies learning is recorded as it still uses conventional methods and teachers rarely give feedback on student work, coupled with the minimal use of media and not providing motivation to students. The present research aimed to apply the teams’ games tournament (TGT) approach to enhance the students’ cognitive abilities. The researchers employed two improvement cycles in the form of classroom action research procedures. The progress of students' learning outcomes was in each cycle, starting at 34.62% in the pre-cycle, completeness rose to 84.6% after the first cycle and reached 92.3% in the second cycle. The research results suggest that the implementation of the TGT method yielded a significant improvement in cognitive abilities of academic achievement among the research participants.

Abstract

Background: Rendahnya manajemen tata kelola usaha, rendahnya alat produksi, dan rendahnya jangkauan pemasaran menjadi permasalahaan yang melatar belakangi adanya kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat agar dapat diberikan solusi yang tepat sesuai permasalahan mitra. Kegiatan ini bertujuan untuk menaikkan kelas angkringan yang mampu menghasilkan produk organik dan alami sebagai brand value nya, agar produk yang di hasilkan dapat di pasarkan melalui sosial media, E-commerce. Metode: Kegiatan PKM di hadiri oleh ibu Rusida sebgai pemilikAngkringan Masuk Monjok beserta enam karyawannya, menggunakan Metode PRA yang mengedepankan keterlibatan mitra secara penuh, diawali perencanaan yaitu analisis situasi, penentuan tema, jadwal, pelaksanaan edukasi, pendampingan, pelatihan, serta evaluasi untuk melihat keberhasilan implementasi kegiatan pada mitra, sedangkan pengambilan data dilakukan dengan cara observasi, wawancara dan diskusi. Hasil: Mitra dapat meningkatkan tata kelola usaha melalui penerapan brand value, biaya mutu, diferensiais produk, mengahasilkan produk baru berupa serundeng dan bumbu bubuk kemasan, serta mampu memasarkan produknya lewat pemasaran online. Kesimpulan: Angkringan Masuk Monjok naik kelas karena mampu memproduksi bumbu bubuk kemasan, yang disertai label, dan keterangan pada kemasan, dipromosikan serta dipasarkan melalui pemasaran online agar menjangkau pasar yang lebih luas dengan harga yang sangat terjangkau.
