Abstract

The role of school leadership in improving teacher performance is an important thing to do to produce professional teachers. School principals must have the necessary skills to fulfill their roles effectively and efficiently, maximizing school resourcesThis study employs a purely quantitative methodology. The research subjects include the school principal and three teachers from SD Negeri 5 Juli. Regardless of the method, data collection is carried out through observation, conversation, and documentation. The information is then analyzed by means of data editing, data presentation, and the drawing of conclusions and verification. The purpose of this study is to provide a detailed description of the role of the school principal in boosting teacher performance.  Research findings indicate that the role of the head can be improved through teacher competence enhancement (both formally and informally), extensive academic supervision, the development of a productive school culture, and the provision of rewards based on performance. In addition, it's crucial to have resources that aid instructors in their teaching.

Abstract

This research was motivated by the problem of learning mathematics in simple fractions. The approach is a qualitative approach with the type of research being classroom action research. The data in this research is based on test results, observations and interview results. The data source in this research was class III UPTD students at SD Negeri 4 Peusangan, totaling 17 students with various levels of ability. Based on the research results, it was found that the SAVI approach was used for class III students at UPTD SD Negeri 4 Peusangan on simple fraction material. This is proven by the increase in the number of students who completed their learning in the initial test, namely from 47% belonging to the poor category before learning took place, in cycle I it increased to 65% belonging to the sufficient category and in cycle II it increased to 88% belonging to the good category. Meanwhile, the results of observations on the activities of teachers and students of class III UPTD SD Negeri 4 Peusangan on simple fractions material have increased with the percentage of teacher activity in cycle I, namely 85% belonging to the good category.

Abstract

Students' abilities to solve mathematical problems are still limited, and they are not yet familiar with the topics being covered. The purpose of this study is to characterize students' abilities to resolve mathematical problems, particularly those involving geometry, according to the Polya progression. Research plan utilizing a qualitative approach with 40 students from Grade V at the State Primary School in Bireuen, Indonesia.Problem solving is seen as the crowning achievement of mathematics education since it focuses on developing students' reasoning and problem-solving skills in addition to their conceptual understanding. Students can apply their newfound knowledge and problem-solving skills in their day-to-day lives. The problem-solving process consists of four steps: identifying the issue, formulating a plan to address it, implementing that plan, and conducting follow-up evaluation. Therefore, the ability to create non-routine assignments and the creativity to transform routine text-book assignments into non-routine ones, as well as the ability to develop problem-solving instructional materials for use by students during instruction, are both necessary.

Abstract

The aims of this research to investigate how digital storytelling influences reading literacy among students learning English as a foreign language (EFL). Reading literacy is a multifaceted skill that is crucial in both educational contexts and daily life, enabling individuals to interact effectively with the world around them. The problem of this research how does digital story telling influences students reading literacy. Digital story telling important for English language learning not only reading literacy but also could detail insights into student experiences and perceptions. The method of this research is qualitative research. Utilizing a descriptive case study design, the study employs qualitative methods, including observations and interviews, to gather data on student engagement and learning outcomes. The result of this research are students involved in digital story telling activities demonstrated a better understanding of texts, as they engaged more deeply with the material through the creative process of storytelling, students actively assessed and synthesized reading content, made connections between ideas, and critically evaluated story elements during collaborative discussions.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis penerapan etnomatematika dalam pembelajaran matematika di sekolah dasar dengan mengintegrasikan nilai-nilai budaya lokal, khususnya budaya Aceh, guna meningkatkan pemahaman konsep matematika dan melestarikan warisan budaya. Pendekatan ini memanfaatkan elemen budaya lokal seperti motif kain songket, desain rumah adat, dan seni tradisional sebagai media pembelajaran matematika. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah deskriptif kualitatif dengan teknik pengumpulan data melalui observasi, wawancara, dan studi dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa etnomatematika mampu meningkatkan motivasi dan pemahaman siswa terhadap konsep matematika abstrak melalui konteks budaya yang familiar. Siswa merasa lebih terhubung dengan pembelajaran, sehingga mampu memahami konsep seperti simetri, pola, dan geometri secara lebih konkret. Selain itu, pendekatan ini berkontribusi terhadap pelestarian budaya lokal dengan mengenalkan siswa pada elemen-elemen budaya yang mulai jarang ditemui dalam kehidupan sehari-hari. Namun, tantangan yang dihadapi meliputi keterbatasan sumber belajar berbasis budaya lokal, minimnya pelatihan guru dalam memahami dan mengintegrasikan budaya ke dalam pembelajaran, serta kendala waktu dalam penerapan di kelas. Solusi yang disarankan meliputi pengembangan bahan ajar berbasis etnomatematika, pelatihan guru secara berkala, dan dukungan kebijakan dari pemerintah untuk memperkuat integrasi budaya dalam pendidikan. Penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa etnomatematika tidak hanya berperan dalam meningkatkan kualitas pembelajaran matematika tetapi juga dalam membentuk karakter siswa yang mencintai dan bangga terhadap budaya lokal, sekaligus mendukung prinsip Kurikulum Merdeka. Abstract

This research aims to develop and analyze the effectiveness of applying gamification technology integrated with the Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) approach in mathematics learning to hone students' problem solving abilities. This approach utilizes game elements such as points, levels and challenges combined with the local cultural context as a basis for learning. The research was conducted using qualitative methods, involving teachers and students as the main subjects, with data collected through observation, interviews and analysis of learning documents. The research results show that the integration of gamification technology with RME can significantly increase student learning motivation. Gamification elements create a more interesting and competitive learning atmosphere, while the local culture-based RME approach helps students understand mathematical concepts more concretely and relevant to everyday life. In addition, students' ability to solve problems increases, shown by their success in identifying problems, formulating strategies, and evaluating solutions. Teachers also responded positively to this approach, despite facing challenges such as limited planning time and technological facilities. This research makes an important contribution to modern mathematics learning innovations that are relevant to the needs of the 21st century. The integration of gamification and RME technologies offers great potential to holistically increase students' motivation, understanding and problem-solving skills.

Abstract

Training on the use of comic media to improve literacy and students' problem-solving skills was held at the UPTD SMP Negeri 4 Peusangan on September 3-4, 2024, with the aim of helping teachers create more innovative, interesting, and effective learning. This activity involved teachers from various subjects with a theory-based approach, direct practice, and learning simulations using comic media. This training provides assistance to teachers in integrating comics into the classroom learning process, as well as conducting comic-based learning simulations by involving students as part of the media testing process. The results of the training showed an increase in teacher competence in designing and producing learning comics that are relevant to the curriculum. A total of 15 teachers successfully completed their comics and implemented this media in learning simulations. Obstacles faced during the training included limited technological facilities, variations in teacher abilities, and limited time. However, these can be overcome with intensive assistance, the use of simple applications, and collaboration between participants. The outputs of the activity were in the form of learning comics, training modules, and the formation of teacher discussion groups as a sustainable effort. Thus, students' learning motivation, literacy skills, and problem solving through the visual and narrative approaches presented in comics increased. This training has a significant positive impact, both for teachers, students and schools, and has become a development for subsequent learning innovations.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakang rendahnya kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa pada materi teorema pythagoras. Pada proses pembelajaran matematika, baik guru maupun siswa bekerja sama untuk mencapai tujuan matematika. Berdasarkan hasil observasi guru matematika menunjukkan hasil pembealajaran siswa masih di bawah KKM lebih besar 75 persen yang ditetapkan di SMP Negeri 1 Peusangan. Peneliti menawarkan solusi dengan pembelajaran Team Quiz. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui apakah terdapat pengaruh kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa dengan menggunakan metode pembelajaran Team Quiz dengan berbantuan Quizizz lebih baik daripada yang diajarkan melalui pembelajaran konvesional pada materi teorema pythagoras pada kelas VIII SMP Negeri 1 Peusangan. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kuantitatif dengan jenis penelitian eksperimen semu (quasi experimental). Desain yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah pretest posttes control group design. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 1 Peusangan yang terdiri dari 2 kelas berjumlah 47 siswa. Sampel dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas VIII.3 yang berjumlah 25 siswa, VIII.4 yang berjumlah 22 siswa, kelas VIII.3 menjadi kelas eksperimen yang diajarkan menggunakan pembelajaran Team Quiz dan kelas VIII.4 menjadi kelas kontrol yang diajarkan menggunakan pembelajaran konvesional. Teknik pengumpulan data yang dilakukan dalam penelitian ini berupa soal tes dalam bentuk pilihan ganda dan hasil observasi. Teknik analisis data pengujian uji t. Hasil analisis diperoleh nilai ttabel ini dapat dituliskan sebagai berikut; ttabel dengan taraf signifikasi 5 persen sama dengan 1,679 kurang dari thitung sebesar sama dengan 3,570 untuk thitung atau ha diterima serta ho ditolak. Dengan demikian Dapat disimpulkan bahwa pengaruh kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa menggunakan metode pembelajaran Team Quiz dengan berbantuan Quizizz lebih baik daripada yang diajarkan melalui pembelajaran konvesional pada materi teorema pythagoras pada kelas VIII SMP Negeri 1 Peusangan. Hal tersebut dapat dibuktikan bahwa adanya pengaruh terhadap kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa dalam proses pembelajaran sebesar 94,5 persen dan 95 persen dengan kategori sangat baik.

Abstract

Problem-solving skills are essential 21st-century competencies that need to be developed from an early age. This study aims to analyze the role of Deep Learning technology in enhancing students' problem-solving skills through a qualitative approach. The research methods employed include observation, in-depth interviews, and document analysis involving students who engaged in Deep Learning-based learning systems. The findings indicate that the implementation of this technology positively contributes to students’ ability to identify problems, formulate solution strategies, and think flexibly compared to conventional methods. Furthermore, the Deep Learning system provides real-time feedback, adapts task difficulty to students' individual abilities, and increases their learning motivation. However, the implementation of this technology also faces challenges such as infrastructure limitations, teachers' readiness, and students' adaptation to AI-based systems. Therefore, this study recommends integrating AI technologies into the curriculum, providing teacher training, and developing more user-friendly systems. These findings contribute to the advancement of technology-based education and serve as a foundation for further research on optimizing AI in learning.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan bagaimana peran Bahasa Indonesia dalam merintis bisnis lokal dan menghadapi persaingan pada usaha UMKM gegarang resto. Penelitian ini menggunakan jenis penelitian kualitatif dan metode penelitian menggunakan triagulasi data. Pemilihan subjek dalam penelitian ini yaitu pemilik Gegarang Resto yang terletak di Desa Tansaril, kecamatan Bebesen, kabupaten Aceh Tengah. Teknik Pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini yaitu dengan melakukan observasi, wawancara dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian ini Gegarang Resto memanfaatkan kearifan lokal sebagai inti bisnisnya dengan strategi komunikasi yang efektif, penggunaan bahasa Indonesia yang inklusif, dan restoran ini tidak hanya menjadi tempat makan tetapi juga wadah pelestarian budaya. Penggunaan bahasa Indonesia dalam komunikasi dengan pelanggan memungkinkan pesan yang disampaikan lebih jelas dan mudah dipahami. Tim Gegarang Resto berkomitmen untuk menggunakan bahasa yang ramah dan sopan dalam menanggapi setiap keluhan, sehingga konsumen merasa dihargai. Proses ini membantu menciptakan hubungan yang baik antara bisnis dan pelanggan, serta meningkatkan kepercayaan masyarakat terhadap kualitas layanan yang diberikan.
