Abstract

The aim of this research is to determine the influence of regional languages on narrative essay writing at SD IT AN-NUR in Tanjung Morawa District. This type of research is quantitative descriptive research. The author conducted quantitative descriptive research because it involves describing, illustrating, explaining, or explaining data in a way that is easy to understand. This study addressed the use of pre- and post-tests in writing a narrative essay entitled “Environment”. Based on the results of the data analysis presented above, it can be concluded that regional languages have an influence on students when writing narrative essays. The pre-test results for students' narrative essay writing showed an average score of 39.75 with a standard deviation of 15.93366 and a variance of 241.1875, while the average post-test score was 76.5 with a standard deviation of 15.31253 and a Variance was. amounting to 222.73 from a total of 20 students.There is an influence of visual media on regional languages through writing narrative essays at SD IT AN-NUR, Tanjung Morawa District. Based on the results of the data analysis presented above, it can be concluded that regional languages influence narrative essay writing with an F-score of 17.641 and a significance level of 0.000 (p < 0.05) and has a regression coefficient of 0.000. This means that Ha is accepted and Ho is rejected.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the effect of flashcard media on the essay writing ability of first-grade students at SDN 104200 Karang Gading Village Labuhan Deli. An experimental design was employed with two groups: an experimental group taught using flashcard media and a control group taught using conventional methods. The Kolmogorov-Smirnov normality test results showed that the pre-test and post-test scores of both groups were normally distributed. The experimental group showed significant improvement in writing ability, with Exact Sig. (2-tailed) values of 0.000 < 0.05, indicating the acceptance of H1. Similarly, the control group showed improvement with Exact Sig. (2-tailed) values of 0.000 < 0.05, confirming the effectiveness of conventional methods. However, flashcard media was found to have a greater influence on the students’ writing abilities compared to conventional methods. These findings suggest that flashcard media can be an effective tool to enhance early writing skills in elementary education.

Abstract

This study is motivated by the limited vocabulary acquisition among children, the lack of media variation in learning, and minimal student engagement in the learning process. The research aims to develop an effective quartet card media to enhance students' vocabulary at SDN 101968 Petumbukan. This study employs a research and development (R&D) approach based on the Borg & Gall model, following nine stages of development. The research subjects consist of 15 students. Data collection techniques include questionnaires and interviews, with research instruments comprising structured questionnaires and interview guidelines. The data were analyzed using a quantitative descriptive analysis with percentage calculations. The findings indicate that quartet cards are a viable instructional medium for improving elementary school students' vocabulary acquisition. This is supported by validation results from material experts, who rated the media as eligible (82.5%), media experts who classified it as highly viable (92%), initial field trials categorized as successful (86.9%), main field trials also classified as successful (88.0%), and operational field trials rated as successful (86.3%). The overall percentage from all trials reached 87.0%, indicating that the quartet card media is an effective tool for vocabulary development in elementary education.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of using the speed reading method on the reading speed ability of fourth-grade students at SD 104185 Sei Semayang. The Skimming technique is a crucial skill that enables students to quickly filter essential information and enhance their comprehension of reading materials. This research employs a quantitative approach with an experimental method. The study subjects consist of 33 fourth-grade students. The findings indicate that the use of the Skimming technique significantly influences students' reading speed ability. This is evidenced by the comparison of pretest and posttest scores, where the average pretest score for effective reading speed (KEM) was 90.50, categorized as moderate. After implementing the speed reading method, the average posttest score increased to 144.61, classified as high. Additionally, the results of the t-test analysis showed that the t-value (tcount = 5.722) exceeded the critical t-value (ttable = 3.622), leading to the rejection of H0 and acceptance of H1. These findings confirm that the speed reading method significantly enhances students' reading speed ability at SD 104185 Sei Semayang. Therefore, this method can be effectively utilized as a teaching strategy to improve elementary students' reading skills.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui: 1) Profil pengaruh kemampuan membaca nyaring siswa kelas II di SD Swasta Jaya Pancur Batu. 2) Proses pelaksanaan media pop up book terhadap pengaruh kemampuan membaca nyaring cerita mata pelajaran Bahasa Indonesia pada siswa kelas II di SD Swasta Jaya Pancur Batu. 3) Efektifitas media Pop Up Book terhadap pengaruh kemampuan membaca nyaring cerita mata pelajaran Bahasa Indonesia pada siswa kelas II di SD Swasta Jaya Pancur Batu. Tujuan penelitian ini dicapai dengan menggunakan pendekatan penelitian kuantitatif dengan jenis penelitian eksperimen. Instrumen penelitian adalah angket dan teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah observasi, dokumentasi dan tes. Data dianalisis dengan perhitungan statistik menggunakan rumus T-Test, mendeskripsikan data dan menarik kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian dengan menggunakan uji-t, menunjukkan bahwa ada perbedaan yang signifikan antara hasil posttest pada kelompok perlakuan dan kelompok kontrol (p=0.000), dan ada perbedaan yang signifikan terhadap perbandingan hasil pretest dan postets pada kelas perlakuan (p=0.000). Hasil pretest pada kelas IIA maupun IIB keduanya memiliki selisih yang tidak terlalu besar dengan persentase untuk kelas IIA 9,93% meningkat sebesar 13,7%, dan hasil persentase untuk kelas IIB 9,2% meningkat sebesar 10,7%.

Abstract

Waste management is a crucial component in maintaining environmental sustainability. Furthermore, the current environment is facing an environmental crisis. Rapid urban population growth and consumption patterns have led to an unprecedented increase in waste generation, posing significant challenges to the waste management system. This community service activity focused on promoting the utilization of waste into recycled products to raise environmental awareness in the community. All activities, including pre-implementation, implementation of waste management socialization, and monitoring, were successfully implemented. This activity demonstrates that the effort has successfully increased public knowledge and awareness of the environment.

Abstract

Community service activities for lecturers are an effort to carry out one of the tridharma tasks of higher education. Community service carried out in the form of gymnastics activities with the theme Efforts to Be Free from Disease Together with the Kuta Bayu Community in Gunung Meria District, Deli Serdang Regency. This activity aims to carry out the tridharma activities of higher education lecturers in order to contribute knowledge and outreach to society. This service carried out by several lecturers at Nahdlatul Ulama University, North Sumatra (UNUSU) invites the people of Kuta Bayu to start doing regular exercise activities in order to have a healthy physique and avoid all forms of disease. The expected output target of this activity is: to provide an understanding that Doing gymnastics provides many benefits for the body's health, one of which is improving the body's metabolic system and increasing and strengthening the immune system in the body to avoid various diseases.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji efektivitas model pembelajaran Cooperative Integrated Reading And Compotision (CIRC) terhadap kemampuan menulis eksposisi pada Siswa Kelas IV SD IT Umi Aida . Jenis penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah penelitian eksperimen. Desain penelitian yang digunakan, yaitu quasi eksperimen bentuk Pretest-Posttest Control Group Design. Yang menjadi sampel, yaitu keseluruhan siswa IVA dan IVB yang berjumlah 44 siswa. Instrumen yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini berupa tes tertulis . Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa, pertama, terdapat perbedaan kemampuan menulis teks eksposisi yang signifikan antara siswa yang mendapat pembelajaran menggunakan model CIRC dan siswa yang mendapat pembelajaran tanpa menggunakan model CIRC. Perbedaan tersebut ditunjukkan dengan hasil uji-t, yaitu thitung sebesar 6,840, df 42, dan nilai p sebesar 0,000 (p<0,05=signifikan). Kedua, model CIRC terbukti efektif dalam pembelajaran kemampuan menulis teks eksposisi pada siswa Kelas IV SD IT Umi Aida. Hal tersebut ditunjukkan oleh hasil uji-t pretes dan postes kelompok eksperimen, yaitu t-hitung sebesar 7,529 dengan df 42 dan p sebesar 0,000 pada taraf kesalahan 0,05 (5%) serta penghitungan gain score kelompok eksperimen sebesar 20,41 sedangkan kelompok kontrol sebesar 17,27. Dengan demikian maka pada pelaksanaan pembelajaran menggunakan pembelajaran CIRC berdasarkan hasil posttest dinyatakan efektif.

Abstract

This research aims to develop a fairy tale calendar media with material about loving plants and animals for students. to determine the level of appropriateness of media use and determine the level of practicality of the media through student responses, after using fairy tale calendar media. This research uses the Research and Development (R&D) research method with the ADDIE research model which has five stages (analysis, design, development, implementation and evaluation. The data collection technique used is: validation of material expert questionnaires and media expert questionnaires to determine the level of feasibility media as well as a response questionnaire from educators and students to determine the level of practicality of the media. The subjects of the research and development were class III students at SD Negeri 104303 Kampung Ibus, Sei Rampah District. The results of the research and development obtained a design in the form of a fairy tale calendar media to train the speaking skills of class III students at SD Negeri 104303 Kampung Ibus which received an appropriateness score of 88.57% by media experts, 98.66% by material experts. Based on the results of the description above, the product developed by the researcher is suitable and practical for use as a learning medium.
