Abstract

Masalah dalam penelitian ini berawal dari rendahnya keterampilan membaca pemahaman siswa kelas V SDN 05 Sawahan Kota Padang.Penelitian ini membahas tentang bagaimana keterampilan membaca pemahaman siswa dengan model Concept Sentence di kelas V SDN 05 Sawahan Kota Padang. Jenis penulisan ini merupakan Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK).Peningkatan ini dapat dilihat dari: Pelaksanaan pembelajaran pada aspek guru pada siklus I adalah 66,6% dan pada siklus II adalah 95,8%. Pelaksanaan pembelajaran pada aspek siswa pada siklus I adalah 60% dan pada siklus II adalah 95%. Pada penilaian siswa yaitu prabaca siklus I adalah 65,7% dan pada siklus II adalah 92,5%. Saat baca  siklus I adalah 62,5% dan pada siklus II 89,6%. Pascabaca siklus I adalah 68,2% pada siklus II 94,8%. Dengan kesimpulan bahwa: keterampilan membaca untuk pemahaman siswa dengan menggunakan model Concept Sentence adanya peningkatan di kelas V SDN 05 Sawahan Kota Padang.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh media audio visual yang digunakan oleh sekolah belum sepenuhnya memotivasi peserta didik dalam proses pembelajaran. Media pembelajaran yang digunakan di sekolah masih berbentuk video yang di download dari youtube, dan belum memaksimalkan materi pembelajaran yang berfokus pada kreatifitas dan aktivitas peserta didik dalam melaksanakan proses pembelajaran secara efektif. Berdasarkan hal tersebut dikembangkan media audio visual berbasis discovery learning di kelas IV SDN 12 Sungai Liku pada tema 4 berbagai pekerjaan, subtema 1 jenis-jenis pekerjaan pembelajaran 1, 2 dan 3. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mengembangkan media audio visual pada pembelajaran tematik terpadu menggunakan model discovery learning di kelas IV SDN 12 Sungai Liku. Jenis penelitian ini adalah R&D dengan menggunakan model 4/D (define, design, development dan dissemination). Instrumen yang digunakan dalam pengumpulan data penelitian pengembangan ini adalah lembar validasi, angket repon pendidik dan angket respon peserta didik. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa media audio visual menggunakan model discovery learning yang dikembangkan sudah valid dari ahli materi, bahasa, design. Pada aspek materi diperoleh nilai sebesar 84,32% dengan kriteria sangat valid, pada aspek design diperoleh nilai 96,87% dengan kriteria sangat valid, sedangkan pada aspek bahasa diperoleh nilai 89,28% dengan kriteria sangat valid, sedangkan pada aspek respon pendidik terhadap media audio visual diperoleh nilai sebesar 91% dengan kriteria sangat praktis dan respon peserta didik terhadap media audio visual diperoleh nilai 72% dengan kriteria praktis. Dengan demikian media audio visual di kelas IV SDN 12 Sungai Liku yang dikembangkan dapat digunakan sebagai media belajar peserta didik.

Abstract

This research is motivated by problems related to the low skim reading skills of students. This can be seen in students' interest in reading, there are still some students who do not understand punctuation marks, students are still not quite right in answering some questions related to the content of reading, students find it difficult to understand the content of the text, this is because skimming skills are still low, and students less motivated to read text by skimming, because skimming skills are still low. This study aims to determine the effect of the SQ4R strategy on skimming skills in class V SDN 35 Parak Karakah, Padang City. This research includes experimental research using Quasy Experiment Design with The Nonequivalent Group Pretest-Posttest Design. The subjects of this study were all fifth grade students in the second semester of SDN 24 Kalumbuk, Padang City, which consisted of 2 classes totaling 45 people. Class VA as the experimental class and class VB as the control class. The experimental class was treated using the Survey, Question, Read, Reflect, Recite And Review (SQ4R) strategy on skimming skills while the control class used conventional learning. Based on the data analysis, the results of the test on the data from the sample class are normally distributed and homogeneous. Subsequently, a hypothesis test was carried out with a t-test showing tcount = 3.625 and ttable = 1.68107, where tcount is greater than ttable then H0 is rejected and H1 is accepted with the conclusion that "skills of skimming using Survey Question Read Reflect Recite and Review strategies ( SQ4R) is more influential than without using the Survey Question Read Reflect Recite and Review (SQ4R) strategy in class V at SDN 24 Kalumbuk, Padang City” in the 2018/2019 school year

Abstract

The background of the problem in the teacher's research has not used the Contextual Teaching & Learning approach in learning. In learning the teacher still tends to verbalism, in the learning process it does not look attractive, and student learning outcomes are still low. This study aims to determine the effect of using the Contextual Teaching & Learning approach on student learning outcomes in science learning with the material adaptation of plants in class V SDN 09 Air Pacah Padang City. This research is a Quasi Experimental Design with Posttest-Only-Design. The subjects of this study were the fifth grade students of SDN 09 Air Pacah Padang City where the VA class was the experimental class using a contextual teaching & learning approach, while the VB class was the control class using conventional learning or without using the Contextual Teaching & Learning approach. Data collection in this study is in the form of learning outcomes tests in the form of objective questions as many as 15 questions. The data obtained were analyzed using the t test. Based on the results of testing for normality and homogeneity of the data obtained from the experimental group and the control group, the distribution was normal and homogeneous. Subsequently, the hypothesis was tested with a t-test and showed tcount = 2,553. and ttable = 1,680 with db = (n1 + n2) – 2 = 23 + 23 - 2 = 44 and a significant level of 5%. Based on the test tcount > ttable (> 1.680) then H0 is rejected and H1 is accepted with the conclusion, "the contextual teaching & learning approach has an influence on student learning outcomes in science learning materials for plant adaptation for Class V SDN 09 Air Pacah Padang City 2018/2019 academic year "

Abstract

This study aims to investigate the effect of the application of the 7E (Elicit, Engange ,Explore, Explain, Elaborate, Evaluation and Extend) Learning Cycle Model to the learning outcomes of the Basic Science Concepts of second grade student of Elementary School. This research is a quasi-experimental study with a randomized pretest-posttest control group design. The population of this study was all students of Primary Teacher Education in higher educational private university college in Padang in the 2018/2019 school year. The sample consisted of 24 control class students and 28 experimental class students. The experimental class uses the 7E Learning Cycle model while the control class uses the conventional model. The data collection technique is in the form of a learning outcome test (cognitive). From this study, there were differences in student learning outcomes using learning with the learning model Cycle 7E with conventional learning. Learning with 7E Learning Cycle model gives an effect of 72% (moderate) to the improvement of student learning outcomes in the Basic Science Concept Course.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the effect of the Think-Talk-Write (TTW) method on students' short story writing skills through a literature review approach. Short story writing is a crucial aspect of Indonesian language learning as it involves creative thinking, logical narrative structure, and expressive language use. However, in practice, students often face difficulties during the prewriting stage, such as generating ideas, developing characters, and constructing conflicts and settings. The TTW method offers a structured approach involving individual thinking, group discussion, and directed writing, thereby promoting a more systematic development of writing skills. Based on the synthesis of various scholarly sources, the TTW method has been proven effective in improving students’ writing quality in terms of structure, content, and language use. Intrinsic elements of short stories such as theme, plot, character, setting, and point of view show significant improvement when taught using the TTW method. This study concludes that the TTW method can serve as a relevant and practical strategy for teachers to enhance students’ short story writing skills.

Abstract

The low level of reading literacy in primary schools remains a serious issue in Indonesia’s education system. This article aims to conceptually examine the role of the Project-Based Learning (PBL) model in strengthening reading literacy, particularly within the implementation framework of the Merdeka Curriculum. This study employed a literature review method by analyzing various relevant academic sources. The findings suggest that PBL has significant potential to improve students’ reading literacy skills, as it emphasizes active, reflective, collaborative, and contextual learning. PBL encourages students to read, comprehend, evaluate, and communicate information in multiple formats, thereby directly enhancing critical, informational, and expressive literacy aspects. Furthermore, PBL is highly compatible with the principles of the Merdeka Curriculum, such as differentiated learning and the Projek Penguatan Profil Pelajar Pancasila (P5). With proper design and institutional support, PBL can serve as a transformative learning strategy to strengthen reading literacy at the primary school level.

Abstract

Language is the primary tool of communication used by humans to express intentions and goals. In the context of early childhood development, language skills play a crucial role in supporting children's social, cognitive, and emotional interactions. One common issue that arises is speech delay, a condition in which a child experiences obstacles in various aspects of language, including articulation, voice, fluency, and sound comprehension. This article aims to theoretically examine language development in early childhood with speech delay, focusing on the aspect of receptive language. Data were obtained through a literature review of various relevant journals and theses. The results of the study indicate that both internal factors (such as neurological conditions) and external factors (especially parenting patterns) influence speech delays. Children with mild speech delay can show progress through proper stimulation, while those with more severe conditions require professional intervention.

Abstract

This study examines the effectiveness of the Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) approach in Indonesian language learning at the elementary school level. The primary objective of this study is to explore the extent to which CTL can improve students' learning outcomes, reading skills, and critical thinking skills. Data collection was conducted through a literature review of relevant scientific articles published within the last five years. Articles were systematically selected based on the criteria of thematic relevance, source quality, and focus on Indonesian language learning in elementary schools. The study results indicate that the implementation of CTL consistently has a positive impact on reading comprehension, learning activities, and the development of students' critical thinking skills. However, challenges such as time constraints, teacher preparedness, and a lack of digital resources hinder its implementation. Therefore, institutional support and ongoing teacher training are key to the success of this approach in the context of elementary education.
