Abstract

Measurement of Body Composition (BC) is carried out for various purposes, such as uniting the growth and development of athletes and determining motor performance, physical activity, changes in body composition, as well as nutritional interventions. This study aimed to determine the relationship between Body Composition (BC) and anaerobic ability of female futsal players aged 17-19 years. Twenty female futsal players participated in this study. Muscle mass, Body Mass Index (BMI), Body Fat Percentage, Water Percentage, Protein Percentage, Basal Metabolism, Visceral Fat, and Bone Mass were measured to determine the fat percentage of bone, air, and muscle in the body. Measurement of body composition was also intended to detect the food intake needed by the body and obtain information relevant to disease prevention and treatment. The Running Based Anaerobic Sprint Test (RAST) was conducted to measure the anaerobic endurance. The research method used was a descriptive correlation with a quantitative approach. The finding showed no correlation between Running Based Anaerobic Sprint and Body Fat Percentage, Water Percentage, Protein Percentage, Basal Metabolism, and Visceral Fat. However, there was a positive relationship between Muscle Mass, Body Mass Index (BMI), Bone Mass of the samples, and their Running Based Anaerobic Sprint (p0.05). It concludes that the score of Muscle mass, Body Mass Index (BMI), and Bone Mass affected the anaerobic capacity of female futsal players aged 17-19 years. The normal status of body composition and body fat percentage can be maintained through maintaining consumption patterns and increasing physical activity.

Abstract

Most achievement sports even require athletes to have the good physical fitness to achieve optimal performance. Some of the most dominant physical components in achievement of competitive  sports, especially sports involving muscles, are physical fitness and motor fitness. The purpose of this literature review is to identify, critique, and summarize the available study evidence regarding plyometric training on the component of physical condition. Data sources are taken from PubMed and Scopus. The search data ranges from January 2010 to December 2020. The inclusion criteria were experimental studies designed in randomized controlled trials related to plyometric training on physical fitness. Data extraction includes objectives, methods, samples, interventions, instruments, and research results. The data were synthesized using a systematic review. Search results in the database yielded 521 studies. There were 10 studies that met the inclusion criteria. The results of the review conclude that the plyometric training program can improve the physical fitness component. The most dominant increase in plyometric training was lower extremity explosive strength, namely leg power and sprint running speed. Sprint running which includes even power really needs plyometric training to improve sprint running performance. Plyometric training also improves physical fitness, specific physical abilities, and strength endurance.

Abstract

This study was aimed at investigating the effect of using an Elevation Training Mask (ETM) with the High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) Training Method on physiological abilities based on aerobic capacity. This research was an experimental study with a 2x2 factorial design. This study used aerobic and anaerobic physical component test instruments. This study involved 20 female futsal players as participants. Data analysis used statistical calculations with the help of the SPSS application. The results of the study showed that there was no increase in the physiological abilities of female futsal players based on the use of ETM. It indicated that there was an increase in the physiological ability of female futsal players based on aerobic abilities and there was no interaction between the use of ETM and aerobic capacity in increasing the physiological abilities of female futsal players. This study also concluded that female futsal players with high aerobic capacity were more effective than female futsal players with low aerobic capacity using the HIIT training method, both with high aerobic capacity using ETM and not using ETM compared to low aerobic capacity using ETM or without ETM. Apart from that, there was no interaction found. The implication of the research result shows that, in physical training, the training method must be adjusted to the aerobic capacity of the player by paying more attention to the principles of the training and specificity. Besides that, it is necessary to carry out further research using ETM to see the effect in lung capacity, so that it would be more comprehensive.
