Abstract

Banyak siswa mungkin tidak sepenuhnya memahami apa itu catcalling. Mereka mungkin menganggapnya sebagai sesuatu yang normal atau tidak penting. Psikoedukasi mengenai catcalling sebagai upaya untuk melindungi diri dari pelecehan seksual sangatlah penting. Tujuan dari kegiatan ini adalah (1) meningkatkan kesadaran dan pemahaman mengenai dampak catcalling, dan (2) membangun keterampilan mahasiswa dalam mencegah dan mengintervensi kasus-kasus catcalling dan pelecehan seksual. Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat oleh departemen bimbingan dan konseling ini berjalan dengan lancar, ditandai dengan partisipasi aktif dan antusiasme peserta yang hadir dalam menyimak materi yang disampaikan. Hasil evaluasi dari pelatihan psikoedukasi tentang catcalling di lingkungan sekolah, sebagai upaya perlindungan diri dari pelecehan seksual, menunjukkan bahwa para siswa dapat mengenali dan memahami berbagai bentuk pelecehan seksual dan dapat membentuk langkah-langkah untuk melindungi diri dari pelecehan tersebut.

Abstract

The objective of this study is to explore the participation of teachers and students in decision-making processes at SMA Negeri 4 Tanjung Jabung Timur. A qualitative approach, utilizing a case study method, was employed to examine the communication dynamics within the school, incorporating in-depth interviews, observations, and document analysis. The findings reveal that teacher and student participation in decision-making remains limited, with decisions often dominated by school management without substantial input from either group. Teachers expressed that their suggestions were rarely considered, while students reported similar experiences, particularly concerning extracurricular activities. Communication barriers such as the absence of formal discussion forums and inadequate policy dissemination were also noted. Additionally, the use of communication technology at the school was mostly restricted to administrative notifications, rather than facilitating inclusive two-way discussions. The study identified several factors contributing to this low participation, including centralized leadership, limited opportunities for dialogue, and a communication culture that does not actively support engagement. To improve participation, the study recommends strategies such as increasing formal discussion forums, leveraging technology for interactive communication, and adopting more inclusive leadership practices. These strategies are expected to enhance teacher and student involvement in decision-making, fostering a more democratic and collaborative school environment.

Abstract

Teenagers can’t be separated from several conditions that occur in the development period, one of which is the search for identity, in this context students are often involved with various problems. Individual behavior will same with the views of himself. This means that self-concepts both positive and negative, will determine the behavior displayed by individuals. With Islamic Cognitive Restructuring to solve problems, help, and direct clients in solving problems so that the self concept by the counselee can be realized. This study uses a qualitative approach with a type of case study research. The technique in this study uses interview and observation guidelines. The results of this study show that cognitive modification with Islamic Cognitive Restructuring can provide positive changes to the counselee such as being able to identify negative thoughts and rearrange negative thoughts to be realistic. Meanwhile, behavior modification by improving self-appearance can make counselees to understand the usefulness of these modifications in everyday situations.

Abstract

The challenges faced by students, such as managing time between studies, developing social networks, and determining and building a career, are academic and non-academic demands that students have to go through at school, which can be a disturbance to psychological well-being. Therefore, a counseling service such as strength-based group counseling is very important to strengthen students' positive character. By knowing this character, interventions related to developing resilience will be more targeted. This research aims to determine the effectiveness of strength-based group counseling to increase student resilience. This research method uses a pretest and multiple posttest designs. The purposeful sampling technique was used to select 14 experimental student subjects who were placed into two groups randomly, so that each group consisted of seven students from SMA Negeri 5, Semarang City, Indonesia. Data collection using the Connor Davidson Resilience Scale was adjusted to the characteristics of the research subjects. Data analysis used repeated measures ANOVA. The results of the mixed repeated measures ANOVA test show that strength-based group counseling is effective in increasing student resilience. Furthermore, there is an interaction effect between time and group. These findings confirm that strength-based group counseling is effective and can be applied to increasing student resilience

Abstract

Career adaptability is essential for students to navigate future career challenges effectively. It equips individuals to adjust to changes in the workplace and proactively manage their professional paths. This study examines the career adaptability of students at the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FTTE), Jambi University, involving 17 male and 157 female participants through a cross-sectional survey and quantitative descriptive approach. Data were collected using a career adaptability instrument and analyzed with descriptive statistics, t-tests, and independent t-tests. Simple random sampling was employed to select participants. The findings indicate that FTTE students generally exhibit moderate levels of career adaptability. Furthermore, t-test results (p = 0.00 < 0.05) reveal significant differences in career adaptability between male and female students. Interventions are recommended to include career counseling, guidance, training, and workshops to improve students' career adaptability.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to determine the effectiveness of Strength based group counseling to increase academic hardiness of students. The research method is an experiment using the design of one group pre-test and post-test by involving 7 students of SMAN 5 Kota Semarang who had low academic hardiness. The data collection used was academic hardiness scale. The results of this research indicate the students' academic hardiness before being given Strength based group counseling, average academic hardiness of 32,71 (SD = 1.380), then increased after Strength based group counseling was 51,29 (SD =1.799). Paired sample t-test results showed that Strength based group counseling was effective to increase academic hardiness of senior high school students (t =-19,598 p < 0.01). This research confirms that Strength based group counseling can be applied to increase academic hardiness of students and asserts that Strength based group counseling has an implication toward the optimization of counselors’ roles and professionalism in the utilization of Strength based group counseling for the development of positive behaviors.

Abstract

Dalam konteks ini, dukungan ayah didefinisikan sebagai partisipasi aktif ayah dalam pendidikan, kesejahteraan emosional, dan kegiatan sehari-hari anak. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji peran dan dampak dukungan ayah terhadap perkembangan anak. Metode yang digunakan adalah studi literatur, dengan mengidentifikasi, mengevaluasi, dan mensintesis penelitian-penelitian sebelumnya terkait topik ini. Hasil kajian menunjukkan bahwa Ayah cenderung memberikan stimulasi fisik dan bermain, sementara ibu lebih fokus pada perawatan. Ayah juga lebih berorientasi pada gerakan, sedangkan ibu lebih memberikan dukungan emosional. Keterlibatan ayah dalam perkembangan anak mencakup peran sebagai pencari nafkah, teman bermain, pengasuh, guru, dan pendukung kegiatan anak. Dukungan ayah memberikan dampak positif pada berbagai aspek perkembangan anak, seperti perkembangan emosi, kognitif, sosial, dan moral. Anak-anak yang mendapat dukungan ayah yang hangat, sensitif, dan responsif cenderung memiliki kesejahteraan psikologis yang lebih baik, kemampuan akademik yang lebih tinggi, kompetensi sosial yang lebih baik, serta perkembangan moral dan perilaku prososial yang lebih matang. Untuk meningkatkan dukungan ayah, diperlukan upaya-upaya seperti mencurahkan kasih sayang, mengajarkan akhlak, mendoakan kebaikan, bersikap sabar, menghadirkan cinta, bermain bersama, Menjadi penengah yang adil.

Abstract

This study aims to investigate the influence of organizational communication on teacher performance, considering the mediating roles of work motivation and job satisfaction. The research employed a quantitative method with a survey approach on a sample of 50 teachers at SMA Negeri 4 Tanjung Jabung Timur. Valid and reliable questionnaire instruments were used to collect data, which was then analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) through statistical software such as AMOS or SmartPLS. The results show that organizational communication has a significant influence not only directly on teacher performance but also indirectly through increased motivation and job satisfaction. Effective communication enhances teachers' understanding of school goals and policies, which strengthens their commitment and involvement in the educational process. These findings underscore the importance of developing effective communication strategies in the school environment to support teacher performance and professional development. From this research, it is recommended that schools focus on developing participatory two-way communication, where teachers are actively involved in decision-making. This is expected to create a conducive work environment, increase motivation, and job satisfaction, which will ultimately improve teacher performance. This study makes a significant contribution to educational management literature by identifying and analyzing factors that affect teacher performance in the educational environment.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to determine the effectiveness of group guidance to increase achievement motivation of Children's Orphanage "Aisyiyah" Semarang City. The research method is an experiment using the design of one group pre-test and post-test by involving 26 Children's Orphanage "Aisyiyah" Semarang City who had low achievement motivation. The data collection used was achievement motivation scale. The data were analyzed using dependent t test analysis using paired sample t test. The results showed that the achievement motivation of orphanage children before group guidance was carried out the average (mean) of children's achievement motivation was 19.54. After group guidance, the average (mean) of children's achievement motivation increased by 31.38. The test results to determine whether group guidance is effective in increasing children's achievement motivation that there is a difference in the average value of children's achievement motivation levels before and after group guidance is -11.846. The magnitude of the calculated t value is -21.946 with a probability of 0.000. This means that there is a significant difference in the level of children's achievement motivation before and after group guidance. These findings confirm that group guidance can be applied to increase student achievement motivation.

Abstract

Tekanan yang dialami mahasiswa tingkat akhir dalam penyusunan skripsi kerap muncul dari tuntutan akademik, ekspektasi sosial, keterbatasan waktu, hingga ketidakpastian masa depan, sehingga berpotensi menimbulkan stres akademik. Kondisi ini menuntut adanya ketahanan mental atau hardiness sebagai mekanisme internal yang membantu individu bertahan, beradaptasi, dan tetap produktif menghadapi tantangan akademik. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui tingkat hardiness, tingkat stres akademik, serta hubungan keduanya pada mahasiswa Jurusan Pendidikan Bahasa dan Sastra Universitas Jambi angkatan 2021. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif korelasional dengan sampel 158 mahasiswa yang dipilih melalui teknik simple random sampling. Instrumen pengumpulan data berupa angket Google Form, sedangkan analisis data dilakukan dengan SPSS versi 26. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan tingkat hardiness mahasiswa berada pada kategori tinggi (73,42%), begitu pula tingkat stres akademik (63,19%). Uji korelasi Pearson menghasilkan nilai r = -0,615 yang menunjukkan hubungan negatif signifikan dengan kategori hubungan memadai. Artinya, semakin tinggi hardiness mahasiswa, semakin rendah stres akademik yang dialami dalam penyusunan skripsi. Dengan demikian, hardiness terbukti berperan penting dalam membantu mahasiswa akhir menghadapi tekanan akademik, meningkatkan ketahanan diri, serta mendukung kelancaran penyelesaian skripsi.
