Abstract

Purpose: The interactive whiteboard serves as an information hub in the queue system, displaying queue numbers in real-time and enabling user interaction. Its key features include automatic queue number management, access to additional information, and integration with technologies such as printers and QR codes. Its benefits include time efficiency, an improved customer experience, and flexibility for use across various sectors, making it an innovative solution to enhance service effectiveness. Methodology: The PKM program began with an initial analysis through site visits to the port and interviews with PPMS members. Activities included theory, practice, and queue technology simulations. Preparations involved coordination, provision of equipment, and materials. PPMS actively participated by providing facilities and attending training. Lecture, demonstration, and practice methods were applied to enhance understanding. Results: The ship queueing system at the port enhances loading and unloading efficiency. Interactive whiteboards simplify queue management with real-time features, QR codes, and technology integration. Surveys show that 90% of users find this system easy to use. Conclusions: This service proves that the application of technology in managing the queue of pompong ships at ferry ports has a significant positive impact. Limitations: The passage lacks specific data, overlooks challenges like maintenance and system failures, and has contextual gaps. It ignores scalability, usability for older users, and environmental constraints, limiting its assessment of the system’s effectiveness. Contribution: This community service demonstrates that the implementation of technology in managing the queue of pompong boats at the ferry port has proven effective in reducing waiting times, streamlining departure flows, and enhancing passenger and boat operator satisfaction.

Abstract

Purpose: This study aims to examine the influence of entrepreneurship education on students’ career readiness as job creators, with self-efficacy serving as a mediating variable. The research is driven by the growing emphasis on preparing vocational graduates not only to become job seekers but also to develop as future entrepreneurs. Methodology: The study was conducted at Batam Tourism Polytechnic and involved 142 active students who had completed entrepreneurship courses. A quantitative approach was applied using a questionnaire consisting of 18 items representing three key constructs. Data were analyzed using SmartPLS 4.0 with the SEM-PLS method to assess both the measurement and structural models. Results: The results indicate that entrepreneurship education has a significant impact on career readiness, both directly (? = 0.42, p < 0.001) and indirectly through self-efficacy (indirect ? = 0.19, p < 0.001). Self-efficacy plays a significant mediating role in the relationship between entrepreneurship education and career readiness. The R² value of 0.51 suggests that the model explains more than half of the variance in the career readiness variable, and the model fit is considered good (SRMR = 0.071). Conclusions: Entrepreneurship education meaningfully enhances students’ confidence and their perceived readiness to become entrepreneurs, especially when supported by high levels of self-efficacy. Limitations: This study focuses only on cognitive and psychological aspects of readiness and does not account for practical challenges such as access to capital or other external barriers. Contribution: This study contributes to the fields of vocational entrepreneurship education, human resource management, and career development by providing insights into how educational programs can nurture entrepreneurial potential and promote proactive career planning among future graduates.

Abstract

Digital marketing is the application of digital technology to bring online sales (channels) to the market (websites, email, databases, digital TV, and other innovations such as blogs, feeds, podcasts, and social media) and contribute to the success of business operations. The purpose of this activity is to increase understanding among MSME actors, particularly Ananda Brownies Kukus-Batam, and the management of e-commerce websites for improving the marketing and sales of MSME products. The material will be presented in the form of a seminar. The seminar format will be used by the speaker to deliver the activity material, followed by discussions and simulations. The training activity provides benefits in improving the understanding of MSME actors about digital marketing and e-commerce website management. The digital marketing socialisation activity was conducted at Ananda Brownies Kukus, Batam, in the form of socialisation, creating an artificial intelligence chatbot-based e-commerce website for MSMEs, and training them in managing the website, to empower MSMEs to improve their marketing and sales.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh stres kerja, efikasi diri, dan etika terhadap integritas pegawai Kejaksaan Negeri Batam dengan komitmen sebagai variabel intervening. Integritas pegawai pada lembaga penegak hukum menjadi aspek krusial dalam menjaga kepercayaan publik, sementara dinamika beban kerja, tuntutan profesionalisme, dan tekanan eksternal seringkali memengaruhinya. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan teknik analisis Partial Least Square-Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM). Sampel penelitian adalah seluruh pegawai Kejaksaan Negeri Batam yang berjumlah 103 responden. Data dikumpulkan melalui penyebaran kuesioner yang mengukur variabel stres kerja, efikasi diri, etika, komitmen, dan integritas. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa stres kerja berpengaruh negatif dan signifikan terhadap integritas pegawai, sedangkan efikasi diri dan etika berpengaruh positif signifikan terhadap integritas. Selain itu, stres kerja, efikasi diri, dan etika berpengaruh signifikan terhadap komitmen. Komitmen terbukti memiliki pengaruh positif signifikan terhadap integritas pegawai. Analisis mediasi menunjukkan bahwa komitmen memediasi hubungan antara stres kerja dengan integritas (pengaruh negatif), serta memediasi hubungan efikasi diri dan etika dengan integritas (pengaruh positif). Temuan ini menegaskan bahwa upaya peningkatan integritas pegawai Kejaksaan Negeri Batam perlu dilakukan dengan pengelolaan stres kerja, penguatan efikasi diri, penerapan etika, serta peningkatan komitmen organisasi. Penelitian ini memberikan kontribusi teoretis dalam pengembangan literatur mengenai integritas pegawai, sekaligus rekomendasi praktis bagi manajemen dalam merumuskan strategi pembinaan pegawai berbasis integritas.

Abstract

Empowering MSMEs is a strategic key in optimizing local economic. Challenge faced MSME in increasing competitiveness typically related to ineffective sales and marketing approaches, inadequate active customer service, and a lack of digital knowledge among MSME members. Artificial Intelligence (AI) is a rapidly developing technology and is applied in various fields, including sales and marketing. This community service activity aims to understand the use of AI technology in collecting, analyzing, and utilizing customer data to generate information about customer behavior, sales and marketing, and potentially profitable market trends especially in MSMEs. The method includes preparation stages, surveys, development of an AI-based e-commerce platform, training in the implementation of the platform, and monitoring and evaluation of the overall implementation of the service. This activity was carried out to increase the insight of Cindur Batik MSME in optimizing product sales and marketing strategies to increase competitiveness and address global economic challenges. The result of this activity was the development of an AI-based e-commerce platform, which is used to increase marketing and sales at Cindur Batik MSME Batam. Based on this application, MSMEs partner have an understanding of the use of AI in creating image and video content for digital marketing.

Abstract

Purpose: The design of this flood telemetry control system aims to determine the water level in the drainage and provide warnings of potential flooding to the public with direct notifications to applications running on Android smartphones and to reduce the impact of flooding, a flood detection system tool was built using sensors that connected to a microcontroller that will detect the water level. Methodology: The design of this tool uses 3 (three) sources of information that are installed separately far apart, namely locations A, B, and C connected via the internet network and provide information in the form of monitoring, direct warnings to applications installed on Android Smart Phones. Result: The results of testing this tool work well. And can find out the water level when the rainy season arrives in the environment around the residence from a distance. This tool provides notifications with a delay of about ± 1000ms or 1 second at the smartphone internet access speed to the teleduino webserver or vice versa ± 142ms.

Abstract

Purpose: This research aims to measure the capability level of IT Governance at PT Sarana Citranusa Kabil (SCN) - Batam, and then provide recommendations related to IT processes that have not reached the target capability level. This research is expected to assist companies in realizing the level of IT Governance capability in accordance with the targets set by the company. Method: The data obtained directly from the respondents were obtained from the results of questionnaires, interviews and observations. The COBIT 2019 framework was developed to measure the level of process capability using the Process Assessment Model (PAM). Result: This research found that the Capability level of 40 IT processes for all domains in IT Governance at PT. SCN is currently at level 3.5 or the specified level. This means that IT Governance based on COBIT 2019 at PT. SCN has been standardized, documented, communicated and implemented. Conclusion: The results found that the level of IT Governance measurement capability of 40 IT processes for all domains in the SCN is currently at level 3.5 or the specified level. This means that IT Governance based on COBIT 2019 at SCN has been standardized, documented, communicated and implemented. Contribution: This research is expected to assist companies in realizing the level of IT governance capability in accordance with the targets set by the company.

Abstract

The development of internet-based information technology has had an impact on many aspects of human life, including education. Online learning is made possible by the learning paradigm in the industrial era 4.0. During the COVID-19 pandemic, many universities implemented online learning methods using E-Learning, in line with government recommendations to implement health protocols to break the chain of the COVID-19 virus, such as wearing masks, washing hands and maintaining distance. The Faculty of Engineering, Batam University has used e-learning for learning during the pandemic and continues after the pandemic, but its implementation has never been evaluated. The aim of this research is to assess the context, input, process and product (CIPP) of e-learning at the Faculty of Engineering, Batam University. This research uses a quantitative and qualitative approach (mixed research) by distributing questionnaires to lecturers and students of study programs within the Faculty of Engineering, Batam University. Based on research conducted by evaluating E-Learning from the context aspect, both lecturers and students gave very good responses so it needs to be maintained. Furthermore, from the input aspect it provides a very good response, therefore it needs to be maintained and improved. The response from lecturers for the process aspect is in the very good category, while the response from students is in the good category, so the process element needs to be improved. Assessment of the product aspect shows that E-Learning at the Faculty of Engineering, Batam University must be improved.

Abstract

Employee work productivity at the sub-district level has a very important role in increasing the efficiency and effectiveness of public services. Increased productivity not only impacts short-term performance but also contributes to the development of organizational capacity in the long term. With more productive employees, government agencies can manage resources better and respond to community needs more quickly and effectively. The method used in this study is a quantitative method. Based on the above, a conclusion can be made in this study that Reward has a direct and significant effect on work productivity. Punishment has a direct and significant effect on work productivity. Career development does not have a significant effect on work productivity. Motivation has a direct and significant effect on work productivity. Reward does not have a significant effect on motivation. Punishment does not have a significant effect on motivation. Career development has a significant effect on motivation. Reward does not have a significant effect on work productivity through motivation. Punishment through motivation has no significant effect on work productivity, and career development through motivation has a significant effect on work productivity.

Abstract

Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini dilaksanakan di Kampung Tua Teluk Mata Ikan, Batam, dengan fokus pada peningkatan literasi teknologi melalui pemanfaatan kecerdasan buatan (Artificial Intelligence/AI) untuk mendukung pengembangan bisnis lokal dan produktivitas sehari-hari. Pelatihan ini dirancang untuk memberikan pemahaman konseptual dan keterampilan praktis kepada peserta, mencakup pengenalan teknologi AI, aplikasi AI dalam pemasaran digital, otomasi pekerjaan, pengelolaan data, serta strategi adaptasi teknologi untuk pengembangan usaha kecil dan menengah (UKM). Metode pelaksanaan kegiatan meliputi penyampaian materi, diskusi interaktif, dan praktik langsung menggunakan perangkat berbasis AI, sehingga peserta dapat langsung mengaplikasikan pengetahuan yang diperoleh. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan peningkatan signifikan dalam pemahaman dan keterampilan peserta terkait penerapan AI, yang tercermin dari kemampuan mereka menggunakan AI untuk kebutuhan bisnis dan operasional harian. Selain memberikan manfaat langsung, kegiatan ini juga membuka peluang keberlanjutan berupa pembinaan dan pendampingan lanjutan untuk memperdalam pemanfaatan teknologi digital secara strategis. Dengan demikian, kegiatan ini berkontribusi pada peningkatan kapasitas masyarakat lokal dalam menghadapi tantangan era digital sekaligus mendukung penguatan ekonomi berbasis teknologi di tingkat komunitas.
