Abstract

This research intends to explain money’s function from the perspective of Islamic economics. This research uses a qualitative method with a library research approach sourced from books and journals that are directly or indirectly related to the function of money in the perspective of Islamic economics. The findings of this study led to the conclusion that Islamic economics views money as money, not as a commodity; money in Islam should not be stacked but must be circulated. In contrast, conventional economics views money as an unclear commodity, and traditional economics does not distinguish between money and capital. In Islamic economics, money is public goods, while mudal is private goods. Because as public goods, money should not be traded, and money functions only as a medium of exchange and not as a commodity that can be rented or traded with excess. The findings of this study confirm that Islamic economics has viewed the primary function of money as a medium of exchange and unit of account. Tracing the history of the creation of money, there are at least three fundamental objectives of the creation of currency, namely as a unit of value for the value of goods and services, as a method of storing value, and as a medium of exchange in the process of economic transactions.

Abstract

This research aims to uncover the environmental and social impacts of using renewable energy in the halal industry in Indonesia. Using a case study-based qualitative approach, this research explores the implementation of renewable energy, such as biomass and solar panels, in several companies in West Java, East Java, and West Sumatra. Data collection techniques included in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and document analysis, which were thematically analyzed to identify implementation impacts and challenges. The results show that using renewable energy has reduced greenhouse gas emissions by 30% in the last five years and reduced water and soil pollution by 40%. Socially, the implementation created green jobs, empowered local communities, and improved people’s quality of life through access to clean energy. The study identifies key challenges, such as high initial investment and lack of energy literacy among industry players. This research offers a novel contribution by integrating environmental, social, and Sharia sustainability values in the impact analysis of renewable energy. The practical implications include the need for government incentive policies, workforce training, and multi-sectoral collaboration to support the sustainable transformation of the halal industry in Indonesia.

Abstract

This research examines digital transformation strategies for implementing halal management in the MSME industry in Pakistan. The main problem in this research is the low level of adoption of digital technology in the halal MSME sector, which is caused by limited resources, low digital literacy, and a lack of regulations that support digitalization. This research analyzes strategies halal MSMEs can implement to utilize digital technology to increase business efficiency, expand market access, and ensure compliance with halal standards. This research uses a qualitative approach with a case study method. Data was collected through in-depth interviews, participant observation, and document analysis from various sources, including MSMEs, halal certification institutions, and digital economy experts. Analysis was carried out using the Miles and Huberman model, including data reduction, presentation, and conclusion. The research results show that digital transformation can increase the competitiveness of halal MSMEs through the adoption of e-commerce, social media-based marketing, and Sharia-based digital payment systems. However, challenges in implementing technology are still significant, especially in regulation and digital literacy. Therefore, synergy is needed between the government, academia, and the private sector to create a business environment that supports the digital transformation of halal MSMEs in Pakistan.

Abstract

The halal pharmaceutical industry is a crucial part of the development of the halal sector in Indonesia, particularly in ensuring that the medicinal products consumed by the public comply with Islamic sharia principles. The issue of halal and haram cannot be considered trivial because it encompasses interpersonal relationships (muamalah) and the relationship between humans and God (ibadah). This study aims to analyze and describe the process of halal drug education for Muslim youth in the Kajen area, Pekalongan, to improve health literacy based on Islamic values. Using qualitative descriptive methods, data were collected through in-depth interviews with 15 respondents, participant observation, and documentation studies. The results indicate that although Muslim youth in the area are aware of the importance of halal drug certification, challenges remain in terms of access to information, limited availability of halal-certified drugs, and a lack of ongoing educational activities. Therefore, the active participation of various parties, including government institutions, religious leaders, and the pharmaceutical industry, is needed to strengthen the halal education system and increase the availability of sharia-compliant drugs.

Abstract

Flooding is a natural disaster that often occurs in several regions in Indonesia, including Pekalongan Regency. One of the areas frequently hit by flooding is Simbang Kulon Village, which is caused by the poor drainage system draining the water flow. The development of drainage infrastructure in this area is an important step in overcoming the problem of recurrent flooding. This research aims to assess the effectiveness of drainage channel infrastructure development in Simbang Kulon Village, especially in Simbang Kulon Gang 2, RW 04. The research method used is a qualitative method with a literature study approach. Secondary data was obtained from literature and previous research, while primary data was obtained through direct observation and interviews. The analysis was carried out by studying the studies of data sources to produce actual conclusions on the research topic. The results showed that the development of drainage channel infrastructure in Simbang Kulon Village has had a significant impact in reducing the intensity of flooding that often occurs. However, the phenomenon of groundwater puddles appearing inside residents' houses during heavy rains is still a challenge that needs to be addressed further. The lack of water catchment areas is one of the main causes of this phenomenon.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the challenges and opportunities faced by MSMEs in Indonesia in simultaneously utilizing the halal industry, digital economy, and creative economy. The method used is qualitative, with case studies involving in-depth interviews, observation, and analysis of related documents. The focus of this research is to identify the main obstacles, such as halal certification bureaucracy, low digital literacy, and limited global market access, as well as opportunities that arise from the integration of these three sectors. The research results show that digitalization facilitates MSMEs in increasing market access and operational efficiency through sharia e-commerce and fintech platforms. Meanwhile, the creative economy encourages innovation in halal products that add value and are relevant to modern consumer trends. However, MSMEs still need help in technology adoption and innovative financing. This research underscores the need for cross-sector collaboration and government policy support to create an inclusive and sustainable business ecosystem. With an adaptive strategy, MSMEs in Indonesia can take advantage of the synergy between the halal industry, digital economy, and creative economy to compete in the global market and contribute to national economic growth
