Abstract

The aquaculture sector has come to be recognized as a key engine of both economic growth and seafood production worldwide. Shrimp farming in particular, and aquaculture in general, are major contributors to local livelihoods and food security in Sumbawa, West Nusa Tenggara, Indonesia. However, as this industry expands, it will have to contend with issues pertaining to productivity, sustainability of the environment, and the long-term viability of the fishing industry. Innovations in shrimp breeding have been implemented in the area to solve these problems. The various effects of these advances on aquaculture productivity and the long-term viability of Sumbawa's fishing enterprises are examined in this qualitative investigation. The results show how innovation, productivity, sustainability, and the particular socio-environmental setting of the area interact in a complicated way. Shrimp growth and disease resistance have increased thanks to selective breeding techniques, but genetic manipulation is still up for discussion. Sustainable feed methods are a viable way to lessen the impact on the environment. Effective disease management, together with market access and adherence to international quality standards, are critical components of a sustainable fisheries enterprise. This study promotes sustainable aquaculture methods and the long-term success of Sumbawa's fishing enterprises by offering useful insights and suggestions.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the status of hadiths that serve as the basis for the imposition of sanctions on individuals who convert from Islam to other beliefs (apostasy) and the views of Muslim scholars in understanding the legal messages behind hadiths on apostasy. This study addresses questions regarding the wording, transmission, and status of hadiths on apostasy, as well as how Muslim scholars define apostasy and interpret the legal messages of apostasy sanctions in the hadiths of the Prophet. The study utilizes the method of takhrij hadith with an analytical-descriptive approach. Both primary and secondary research data are gathered from various literary sources. The study finds that hadiths on the legal sanctions for apostasy have two forms of wording: "man baddala dinahu faqtuluhu - whoever changes his religion, kill him" and "la yahilllu damumriin muslimin illa tsalasin - no Muslim's blood is lawful except for three cases." Hadiths on apostasy sanctions fall into the category of ahad hadiths with a degree of authenticity (sahih). Furthermore, the study reveals the evolution of Muslim scholars' understanding of apostasy, wherein apostasy was initially understood solely as a departure from the Islamic faith (i'tiqad) but later came to be seen as a departure accompanied by enmity towards Islam. The scholars themselves are divided into two major groups in their interpretation of the position of hadiths on apostasy, namely the classical Muslim scholars who interpret it as a legal ruling that can be implemented against apostates. In contrast, contemporary Muslim scholars have started to criticize and reinterpret the status of these hadiths, emphasizing the need to reconsider the contextualized understanding of the legal message of apostasy sanctions. The significant contribution of this study lies in clarifying the status of hadiths on apostasy sanctions and illustrating the dynamic understanding of Muslim scholars regarding the implementation of these hadiths' messages

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the term al-ittishāl or al-mūashalah, specifically interpreted in Arabic as communication. The study addresses inquiries regarding the essence and existence of communication in the Qur'an from ontological, epistemological, and axiological perspectives. The focus of this study is crucial for analysis as the mainstream perception of communication in society has predominantly concentrated on aspects such as al-qaul, al-khitab, al-kalam, and the like. Employing thematic tafsir methodology, this research analyzes data primarily derived from the Qur'an, its exegesis, and hadith, while relevant books and journal articles serve as secondary sources. The research reveals that the essence of Qur'anic communication through the term al-ittishāl, stemming from the root word washala and its derivatives, recurs 12 times within the Qur'an across various chapters, all of which connote meanings of connection, seeking protection, reaching, and revelation (clarification). Meanwhile, the existence of communication in the Qur'an, from the perspective of the philosophy of science, is categorized into three aspects. Firstly, the ontological dimension of communication in the Qur'an is evident in the term yashilūna, signifying 'connected, linked, and reaching.' Secondly, the epistemological aspect of communication is depicted through its various forms within the Qur'an, encompassing verbal and non-verbal expressions, whether direct or indirect, unidirectional, or bidirectional. Thirdly, the axiological aspect of Qur'anic communication is discernible in its intended purpose or benefits, aiming for human understanding of the conveyed instructions and demonstrating the power of Allah.

Abstract

Kata Kunci: Arab Saudi, Iran, Sunni-Syiah, Timur Tengah AbstractThis article aims to analyse the background and dynamics of the conflict between Saudi Arabia (Sunni) and Iran (Shia) in the Middle East. This analysis is needed to see the involvement of the two countries, Saudi Arabia and Iran in realizing the expansion of influence in the Middle East by using an ideological approach. It aims to balance the power of Saudi Arabia and Iran in the Middle East region. This article shows that the Sunni-Shia conflict is based on a power competition motive, not a religious one. The conflict started from the succession of leadership after the death of the Prophet Muhammad, the appointment of Abu Bakr as caliph and the reaction of Fatimah az-Zahra who refused to pledge allegiance to Abu Bakr as the leader of the Muslims who succeeded the Prophet Muhammad. In the contemporary era, Saudi Arabia and Iran play a significant role in the Syria and Yemen conflicts in various ways, such as funding and providing military logistics. The ideological approach has never been separated from the mission carried out by the two countries. Keywords: Saudi Arabia, Iran, Sunni-Shia, Middle East
