Abstract

Indonesian Islamic education, with its rich traditions, must change quickly to keep up with the times. This study investigates how philosophical frameworks are used in Indonesian Islamic boarding schools, or pesantren, and how they affect students' development of critical thinking abilities. A mixed-methods approach was used in the research, incorporating document analysis, observations, interviews, and surveys. With an average score of 3.78, the quantitative results showed a moderate level of philosophical framework integration within the program. With an average score of 4.21, students felt they had significantly improved their critical thinking abilities, indicating the usefulness of these frameworks. These outcomes were supported by qualitative data that emphasized students' excitement, teachers' acknowledgment of their ability, and administrators' support. Obstacles such limited resources, cultural awareness, and the requirement for teacher preparation were noted. Nonetheless, there are advantages to these difficulties as well, such as the chance to foster critical thinking and global competency. The study provides guidance for curriculum creators and policy makers, highlighting the possible advantages of incorporating philosophical frameworks into the larger educational environment.

Abstract

The aquaculture sector has come to be recognized as a key engine of both economic growth and seafood production worldwide. Shrimp farming in particular, and aquaculture in general, are major contributors to local livelihoods and food security in Sumbawa, West Nusa Tenggara, Indonesia. However, as this industry expands, it will have to contend with issues pertaining to productivity, sustainability of the environment, and the long-term viability of the fishing industry. Innovations in shrimp breeding have been implemented in the area to solve these problems. The various effects of these advances on aquaculture productivity and the long-term viability of Sumbawa's fishing enterprises are examined in this qualitative investigation. The results show how innovation, productivity, sustainability, and the particular socio-environmental setting of the area interact in a complicated way. Shrimp growth and disease resistance have increased thanks to selective breeding techniques, but genetic manipulation is still up for discussion. Sustainable feed methods are a viable way to lessen the impact on the environment. Effective disease management, together with market access and adherence to international quality standards, are critical components of a sustainable fisheries enterprise. This study promotes sustainable aquaculture methods and the long-term success of Sumbawa's fishing enterprises by offering useful insights and suggestions.

Abstract

This study analyses truth claims and multicultural values made by school teachers. This research is necessary because schools have teachers and students with different cultural, customs and religious backgrounds. These differences sometimes become obstacles to creating harmony in schools. Misunderstandings, especially in understanding religion due to students' ignorance, have triggered disputes in association at school. This type of research is field research using exploratory qualitative methods. At the same time, the research approach uses sociological-anthropological and structural-functional. This study uses primary data from interview results, while books, journal articles, and relevant literature are used as secondary data. Research data were collected using non-participant observation techniques, structured interviews, and documentation. The research objects were school principals, teachers of Islam, Christianity and Hinduism, and Muslim, Christian and Hindu students. The collected data were analyzed inductively. This study found that teachers in schools are still at the level of understanding of pluralism in religion and tend to be tolerant but have yet to implement multicultural values profoundly and equitably in schools. In addition, learning the doctrine of religious truth is in synergy with multicultural understanding in interfaith in the school environment. However, it is still applying an attitude of tolerance between religious communities. This research contributes to cultivating students' pluralist attitudes by mapping the pluralist attitudes of pro-anticipation students before conflicts occur in multicultural societies in religious education learning.
