Abstract

The use of traditional medicine has long been integral to Indonesian society, offering affordable and accessible healthcare options. This study evaluates the patterns of traditional medicine use in Bireuen Meunasah Blang Village, focusing on respondent demographics, self-medication practices, and perceptions of affordability, effectiveness, and accessibility. Using a descriptive quantitative design, data were collected from 97 respondents aged 18–60 years through structured questionnaires. Results indicate that 54.6% of respondents demonstrate adequate use of traditional medicine, while 76.3% follow appropriate usage guidelines. Perceptions of cost and availability were predominantly positive, with 48.5% finding traditional medicines affordable and 70.1% familiar with their names. However, knowledge of side effects and sources of information remains limited. These findings underline the need for targeted public health education to enhance safe and informed self-medication practices with traditional medicines.

Abstract

Kesehatan menurut Undang-Undang Kesehatan No. 36 Tahun 2009, kesehatan adalah keadaan sehat, baik secara fisik, mental, spiritual maupun sosial yang memungkinkan setiap orang untuk hidup produktif secara sosial dan ekonomi. Puskesmas adalah fasilitas pelayanan kesehatan yang menyelenggarakan upaya kesehatan masyarakat dan upaya kesehatan perorangan tingkat pertama (Menteri Kesehatan RI, 2018). Salah satu fungsi puskesmas adalah menyelenggarakan pelayanan kefarmasian di puskesmas yang bermutu. Tujuan dalam penelitian untuk menganalisi pelayanan kefarmasian di Puskesmas Simpang Ulim Kabupaten Aceh Timur Tahun 2022’. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan merupakan penelitian bersifat deskriptif  yang mana penelitian ini menggambarkan subjek dan objek penelitian pada saat sekarang dimana dengan mengumpulkan data memberikan kuesioner yang berisi tentang pertanyaan yang menyangkut penilaian pelayanan kefarmasian  terhadap pasien dan dengan penilian secara likert. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa analisis pelayanan kefarmasian di Puskesmas Simpang Ulim dinilai dengan sistem pemberian kuesioner yang meliputi tingkat pelayanan sediaan farmasi, pengelolaan obat dan pelayanan resep termasuk dalam kategori “ Sangat puas” dikarenakan berada dalam rentang 81-100%. Dalam uji validity dan reliability dikatakan valid karena nilai p-value lebih besar dan r-tabel 0,361.

Abstract

Kebutuhan air pada masyarakat di desa Teupin Bayu Aceh Utara, sehari-hari bersumber dari sumur gali. Dan air yang diperoleh tersebut digunakan untuk berbagai aktifitas seperti untuk masak dan minum, mencuci pakaian, mandi dan sebaginya. Syarat baku mutu air berdasarkan Permenkes RI no.32 tahun 2017 pada parameter Fisik dan parameter Biologi telah dipersyaratkan. Pada penelitian ini, metode eksperimental dilakukan dengan mengambil sampel air sumur gali sebanyak 19 titik pengambilan di wilayah timur, selatan, barat dan utara dari desa Teupin Bayu. Parameter uji yang dilakukan pada : warna, rasa, bau dan total coliform. Hasil penelitian, diperoleh bahwa terdapat 3 sampel air sumur gali yang tidak memenuhi parameter fisik warna (> 50 TCU). Pada uji rasa, 11 sampel tidak sesuai dengan standard yaitu ada rasa pada sampel air. Dan untuk uji fisik bau, terdapat 3 sampel yang memiliki bau. Parameter biologi yang telah diuji, dari 19 sampel seluruhnya memiliki total coliform lebih kecil dari 50 CFU/100ml dan memenuhi standar mutu yang dipersyaratkan.

Abstract

Pemenuhan akan kebutuhan air yang berasal dari sumur gali telah dipersyaratkan dalam Permenkes RI no.32 tahun 2017. Pada parameter Kimia diantaranya dengan kandungan logam antara lain besi (Fe), Mangan (Mn) dan Timbal (Pb). Metode eksperimental yang dilakukan pada 19 sampel air sumur gali yang berasal dari  Desa Teupin Bayu, Aceh Utara dengan menggunakan Spektroskopi Serapan Atom. Dari keseluruhan sampel di peroleh 9 sampel dengan kadar Fe yang melebih standar, 14 sampel dengan kadar Mn melebihi ambang batas. Kadar Pb pada keseluruhan sampel air sumur gali masih memenuhi standar mutu air yang ditetapkan.

Abstract

One plant that has been used for traditional medicine with good results is Melastoma (Melastoma malabatricum L.). The plant known as Melastoma has three active compounds: tannins, saponins, and flavonoids. Melastoma leaves work well to cure diarrhoea. Adhesive patches with medication applied topically are called transdermal patches. Melastoma leaf extract transdermal patch formulations were utilised in this study, which employed laboratory experimental techniques. The potential of Melastoma leaf extract transdermal patch preparation formula as an antidiarrheal for rabbits was the subject of the study. Concentrations of extract: 10%, 20%, and 30%. Organoleptic testing, pH tests, weight uniformity tests, moisture tests, thickness tests, and fold resistance tests were the preparatory assessment parameters that were conducted. The characteristics of the antidiarrheal test were timing of diarrhoea occurrences, consistency of the stool, frequency of diarrhoea, and length of diarrhoea, all of which were monitored for six hours. The evaluation of the Melastoma leaf extract transdermal patch formulation demonstrated a significant difference, namely <0.05, according to the results of the ANOVA data analysis. The antidiarrheal test parameters had a significant difference between each concentration, namely <0.05, according to the findings of the ANOVA data analysis. The conclusions was possible to use a transdermal patch formulation of Melastoma leaf extract (Melastoma malabathricum L.) at a 30% concentration to prevent diarrhoea by making stools softer.

Abstract

Background: Kandis tamarind has various activities, such as antioxidant, cytotoxic, anti-inflammatory, and antimicrobial. This study aimed to determine the total polyphenol content of kandis acid fruit and the types of phenolic compounds contained in kandis acid fruit. This type of research was experimental, using 70% ethanol solvent. The research method used was a polyphenol qualitative test, UV-Vis spectrophotometry, and LC-MS. The results of qualitative measurements showed that the samples contained polyphenolic compounds. The results of the polyphenol test on the kandis acid fruit sample on 1% FeCl3 reagent and diazo reagent got positive results, while the Millon reagent got negative results. The study's results show that the determination of the levels of polyphenol content in kandis acid fruit extract was measured using UV-VIS spectrophotometry by adhering to the working principle of Folin-Ciocalteau. The proof of polyphenol content used the Folin-Ciocalteau reagent because this reagent can react with a group of polyphenolic compounds to form a concentrated solution whose absorbance can be measured. The higher the sample concentration, the higher the absorbance value. The results of determining the polyphenol content of the kandis acid fruit extract using uv-vis spectrophotometry had a polyphenol compound component of 61.1015 mg GAE/g sample. The results of the LC-MS analysis for the highest phenolic compound, namely the type of vanillic acid, amounted to 14.21%.

Abstract

Background: Forest cinnamon (Cinnamomum iners) Reinw. Ex Ness & T. Ness Blume has been used traditionally to kill microorganisms, diarrhea and dismonere. Forest cinnamon contains compounds that act as antioxidants, including flavonoids, alkaloids, tannins, and phenolics. The antioxidant effects of vitamin C, E, carotene, and phenolic compounds (especially polyphenols and flavonoids) can potentially reduce the risk of degenerative diseases. Objective: compounds from forest cinnamon roots and determine the yield based on the level of polarity to DPPH with the IC50 value. Method; eksperimental di laboratorium yaitu melakukan percobaan terhadap aktivitas antioksidan dari ekstrak akar kayu manis hutan (Cinnamomum Iners) dengan Metode DPPH (1,1- difenil -2 pikrihidrazil). Penelitian meliputi pengumpulan akar kayu manis hutan, pembuatan ekstrak akar kayu manis hutan, uji skrining fitokimia terhadap akar kayu manis hutan, dan uji antioksidan dari ekstrak akar kayu manis hutan dengan Metode penangkalan radikal bebas DPPH (1,1-difenil –2 pikrihidrazil) menggunakan alat spektrofotometer. Results: The antioxidant activity of the ethanol solvent showed a very strong category, the ethyl acetate solvent showed medium category activity, and the n-hexane solvent showed weak category antioxidant activity. The average IC50 value of ethanol extract was 9.1 ppm, ethyl acetate extract was 77.58 ppm, and n-hexane extract was 185.08. Conclusion: forest cinnamon root (Cinnamomum Iners) Reinw. Ex Ness & T. Ness Blume has strong antioxidant activity in ethanol solvents.

Abstract

Ambon banana peel contains flavonoid chemical compounds that can moisturize facial skin. Flavonoids are powerful antioxidants. A sheet mask formulation of Ambon banana peel extract that can be used more practically and is able to moisturize facial skin. This study aims to formulate a mask sheet preparation containing ethanol extract of Ambon banana peel as well as better skin maintenance for four weeks of treatment and measuring the moisture content of the skin. The research method used is an experimental method, namely the extract is obtained using the maceration method, then formulated into a sheet mask preparation, consisting of glycerin, butylene glycol, sodium polyacrylate, nipagin, PEG-40 Hydrogenated Castrol oil, aquadest, perfume, and banana peel ethanol extract. Ambon with concentrations of F1 (1%), F2 (3%), F3 (5%), F4 (7%), F5 (9%), respectively. As blank (F0) sheet mask preparation without the addition of extract. The preparation is evaluated including homogeneity test, pH test, stability test, irritation test, Moisture effectiveness test using Moisture Checker and preference test. The treatment is carried out for 4 weeks by applying the mask twice a week. Data obtained from the analysis using the SPSS program. The results showed that the ethanol extract of Ambon banana peel can be formulated in a homogeneous sheet mask preparation, does not change color and remains stable in 4 weeks of storage with a pH of 4.6 - 6.6. Conclusion The ethanol extract of Ambon banana peel can be formulated into sheet masks with concentrations of 1%, 3%, 5%, 7% and 9% with a positive control ratio.
