Abstract

The narrative of children's thoughts in children's novels plays an important role in shaping children's understanding of their social environment. Through social action narratives, children are actively involved in internalizing social norms and values, as well as current phenomena so that they can become a means of learning in the future. Based on this background, the focus of this research is the form of children's social action narratives in children's novels. This research uses an interpretative qualitative approach with a parallel reading approach. This method describes and interprets the narrative of children's social thinking in children's novels. Therefore, the data sources for this research are a novel entitled "Sekolah Alam, Seruuu!" by Safina Zahra Ayesha (12 years old), a community under Komunitas Kecil-Kecil Punya Karya (KKPK) published by PT Mizan Pustaka, Bandung, Indonesia and data on children's social phenomena in Indonesia. The results showed that the narrative of children's social action through the narrative of children's activities includes several aspects, namely (a) Behavior as the basis of children's social action narratives, (b) the environment as a supporter of children's social action narratives, (c) individuals as the main aspect of children's social action narratives. (e) the relationship with the learning aspect for children. Keywords: Narrative, Social Action, Child Phenomenon, Children's Novel, Learning.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the effectiveness of the acrostic technique in learning to write geguritan (Javanese-language poetry) through a literature review approach. Writing geguritan is an essential part of Javanese language learning, which not only aims to improve language skills but also to preserve local cultural values that are increasingly eroded by the passage of time. In practice, many students face difficulties in writing geguritan, particularly in selecting appropriate diction, understanding traditional poetic structures, and using proper and accurate krama (formal) Javanese. The acrostic technique, which has previously been widely used in learning to write poetry in Indonesian, is believed to be a viable alternative solution to address these challenges. This technique helps students express their ideas in a structured manner by using the initial letters of each line as a guide, making the writing process easier and more directed. This study analyzes seven previous studies that employed the acrostic technique in teaching poetry writing, both in the context of the Indonesian and Javanese languages. The results show that the acrostic technique is effective in enhancing students' poetry writing skills across various educational levels, fostering creativity, increasing learning motivation, and assisting students in composing poems systematically and meaningfully.

Abstract

Professional ethics play a vital role in the implementation of Guidance and Counseling (BK) services because they relate directly to the counselor's moral responsibility toward the counselee. Counseling services, built through intense interpersonal relationships, require counselors not only to obey the code of ethics normatively but also to possess reflective ethical awareness. This article aims to analyze the professional ethics of counselors from a moral philosophy perspective as a normative basis for ethical decision-making. This research employs a qualitative approach with a conceptual-philosophical design through a literature review of moral philosophy theories, counselor professional code of ethics documents, and scientific publications in the field of Guidance and Counseling. Data were analyzed descriptively and reflectively by placing the counselor's professional ethics within the frameworks of deontological, teleological, and virtue ethics. The results show that the principles of counselor professional ethics are based on universal moral values, such as respect for human dignity, responsibility, justice, and care. These three philosophical approaches complement each other in building a comprehensive understanding of professional ethics—one that is oriented not only toward rule compliance but also toward moral objectives and the formation of the counselor's character. The conclusion of this study emphasizes that a philosophical understanding of professional ethics is essential to strengthen moral integrity and the quality of humanistic and dignified counseling practices.

Abstract

The folklore of Bhuju’ Tolombhung in Bangkalan represents a unique local knowledge system, characterizing a sacred site as a natural saltwater spring phenomenon rather than a gravesite. This study aims to deconstruct the spiritual value structure within the narrative using Notonagoro's axiology analysis. Employing a qualitative descriptive approach with observation and in-depth interview data collection techniques involving custodians and community leaders of Batokaban Village, the research of Hierarchy of Values in the Folk Story of Bhuju’ Tolombhung in Batokaban Village reveals four integrative value dimensions. The value of truth appears as cosmological logic positioning the site as Axis Mundi; the value of goodness manifests in taboo ethics serving as ecological conservation; the value of beauty is reflected through agrarian symbolism of the "granary stone"; and the value of religiosity teaches the essence of monotheism through asceticism myths. The interesting facts found in this research prove that the Bhuju’ concept is flexible as a personification of living nature, affirming the function of folklore as a cultural defense mechanism and moral guide for the Madurese community.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the improvement of students’ cerkak (Javanese short story) writing skills and digital literacy through the use of blogs in madrasah enviroment. The research is motivated by low interest in Javanese literature and creative obstacles found in conventional methods. Initial data from 18 students at MTsN Kota Madiun showed sub-optimal results, with only 2 students achieving the "excellent" category, while the majority fell into the "good" (10 students) and "fair" (6 students) categories. A mixed-methods approach was used, combining interviews with writing performance tests on blogs. The results showed a significant transformation; after guidance, 10 students reached the "excellent" category, 7 students were "good," and only 1 student remained "fair." This study concludes that blog media effectively stimulates creativity and substantially improves students' cerkak writing skills compared to conventional methods.
