Abstract

In this digital era, digital literacy has become an inseparable skill in the learning process. However, digital literacy is also closely related to students' disciplinary character. This study investigates the relationship between digital literacy and students' disciplinary character in junior high schools, especially in the context of dynamic electricity learning in physics subjects. This study aims to identify how much digital literacy plays a role in developing students' disciplinary character. This research method is a quantitative study with a correlational design. Data were collected using a validated Digital Literacy and Disciplinary Character questionnaire from 100 grade VIII students. Data analysis was carried out using descriptive, normality, linearity, and correlation tests. The study's main results found a significant positive correlation between digital literacy and disciplinary character, with digital literacy explaining 42% of the variation in disciplinary character. This study concludes that higher digital literacy significantly develops students' disciplinary character. These results indicate the importance of integrating digital literacy into the school curriculum to improve technical skills while developing students' disciplinary character. Further research is recommended to explore other factors, such as family environment and school policies, that may influence students' disciplinary character.

Abstract

The importance of caring for the environment is owned by each individual from an early age, making research on how the effect of student responses on the character of caring for the environment in the tribe and understanding of students' concepts in thematic learning of our 8 themes of the environment of friends on the character of caring for the environment of students needs to be done. This study aims to examine the effect of student responses on the environmental care character of the inner tribe and students' conceptual understanding of the environmental care character of elementary school students. This type of research uses a mixed method of explanatory sequential design. The subjects of this study were 5th grade elementary school students. The sampling technique was simple random sampling. The number of samples is 100 students. The research instrument is in the form of response questionnaires and questions as well as interviews with data analysis using statistics and Miles and Huberman. The results showed that students' understanding of concepts in thematic learning themed 8 was environmentally friendly and students' responses to the environmental care character of ethnic children in influencing the environmental care character of elementary school students. So that knowledge about caring for the environment of students greatly affects the improvement of the character of caring for the environment of students.

Abstract

Purpose of the Study: This study aims to analyze the impact of the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) model on the development of students’ responsibility character in Chemistry education, with a specific focus on the challenging topic of atomic structure among 11th-grade high school students. Amid increasing concerns about character education in STEM subjects, this study seeks to fill the gap by exploring how active learning models influence affective outcomes alongside cognitive achievement. Methodology: A mixed-methods explanatory design was employed, incorporating a quasi-experimental approach with pretest-posttest control groups. Quantitative data were collected through self-assessment questionnaires, peer evaluations, and teacher observation sheets, while qualitative insights were gathered via semi-structured interviews and thematic analysis of student reflections. The triangulation of data sources provided a comprehensive view of how PBL implementation affects student responsibility. Main Findings: The findings revealed that students in the experimental group demonstrated significant improvements in their responsibility character compared to the control group. Higher posttest scores reflected positive behavioral changes in engagement, discipline, and task accountability during Chemistry learning activities. Qualitative data further supported that PBL encouraged students to take ownership of their learning process, collaborate effectively, and complete tasks with greater autonomy and diligence. Novelty/Originality of this Study: This research offers a novel perspective by applying PBL not only as a cognitive learning strategy but also as a tool for character development in complex Chemistry topics. It advances the understanding of integrative pedagogical models that simultaneously nurture academic proficiency and essential life skills, particularly responsibility, in secondary science education.

Abstract

Students' critical thinking skills in chemistry learning are generally still low, so interesting open materials are needed to improve students' critical thinking skills, one of which is e-modules. This study aims to determine the feasibility of e-modules and to determine the responses of educators and students to android-based e-modules in improving students' critical thinking skills at the rate of material reaction. This study uses a research and development (R&D) model with an R&D-based research design which stands for the ADDIE model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation). Data collection techniques through validation by material and media experts, as well as responses from teachers and students. The subjects of the study consisted of 30 students who used e-modules in learning. The data analysis technique used the t-test (Independent Sample T Test) to measure differences in students' critical thinking skills before and after using e-modules. The results showed a significant increase in students' critical thinking skills, with an average posttest score increasing by 13.3 points compared to the pretest (p <0.05). The conclusion of this study is that Android-based e-modules are effective in improving students' critical thinking skills. The implication of this research is that e-modules can be an interesting learning medium and can be used to support learning at school or independently at home, and have the potential to improve students' learning outcomes and critical thinking skills in the long term.
