Abstract

This study aimed to determine the effect of dragon fruit peel extract on the motility and abnormalities of native chicken spermatozoa. The study was arranged experimentally using a completely randomized design consisting of 4 treatments and 3 replications. Before treatment, 12 native chicken were randomly divided into groups and adapted for 10 days with commercial feed and drinking water. The treatments were given orally for 8 weeks and consisted of P0 (control), P1 (1 ml dragon fruit peel extract), P2 (3 ml dragon fruit peel extract), and P3 (5 ml dragon fruit peel extract). Cement storage is carried out by the sequencing method. The quality of the collected sperm is tested in the laboratory. The parameters measured were microscopic sperm quality, namely sperm motility, and abnormalities. The results showed that dragon fruit peel extract had a significant effect on spermatozoa motility by increasing the percentage of motility but had no effect on spermatozoa abnormalities. Provision supplement of 5 ml dragon fruit peel extract gave the best results in increasing spermatozoa motility in native chickens.

Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian adalah untuk melihat peranan suatu lembaga kemasyarakatan dalam suatu usaha peternak sapi potong. Penelitian dilakukan pada bulan Juli hingga Agustus 2021 pada kelompok ternak Berkah Bersama dengan total responden 12 anggota kelompok ternak dengan mengambil seluruh jumlah populasi peternak yang berada dalam kelompok ternak Berkah Bersama. Data dianalisis dengan menggunakan data deskriptif untuk menggambarkan karakteristik peternak dan peranan lembaga kemasyarakatan usaha peternakan sapi potong.Hasil penelitian menjelaskan bahwa Lembaga kemasyarakatan sangat berperan penting dalam pembangunan ekonomi dan pengembangan usaha peternakan, kelebihan dari lembaga ekonomi dalam pengembangan usaha peternakan adalah adanya kejelasan dalam pengambilan modal usaha dan memberi pedoman bagi peternak untuk memebentuk kelompok tani, dan berperan sebagai sistem pengendalian sosial, sedangkan kekurangannya yaitu, jumlahnya relative sedikit dan jaraknya cukup jauh dari pemukiman warga.Peran lembaga masyarakat didesa yaitu untuk memenuhi kebutuhan-kebutuhan pokok manusia yang pada dasarnya berfungsi untuk memberikan pedoman pada kelompok tani, bagaimana yang mereka harus bertingkah laku atau bersikap didalam menghadapi masalah-masalah dalam masyarakat, terutama yang menyangkut tentang cara/teknik bertani ternak yang baik, menjaga keutuhan masyarakat dan berbagai sistem pengawasan masyarakat.

Abstract

Judul: Pengaruh suhu dan waktu pengeringan terhadap karakteristik kimia tepung tulang bebek Title: Effect of temperature and drying time on chemical characteristics of duck bone meal Limbah tulang itik menjadi menjadi perhatian masyarakat khususnya masyarakat Kabupaten Sidrap, Sulawesi Selatan karena di wilayah ini terdapat banyak warung makan palekko’ itik yang menghasilkan limbah padat yaitu tulang itik. Langkah untuk meminimalisir limbah tulang itik ini adalah dengan mengolahnya menjadi produk inovasi yakni tepung tulang itik. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh suhu dan waktu pengeringan terhadap karakteristik kimia tepung tulang itik. Metode pengolahan merupakan modifikasi dari penelitian [1] meliputi diantaranya pencucian, pemotogan, perebusan tulang, pembersihan, pengeringan dan penepungan. Rancangan percobaan menggunakan rancangan acak lengkap (RAL) satu faktor dengan 3 perlakuan dan 3 ulangan yaitu P1 (T1=100 OC; t1=5 jam), P2 (T2 =150 OC; t2 =3 jam) dan P3 (T3=200 OC; t3=1 jam). Data diproses dan diuji ANOVA untuk melihat perbedaan diantara perlakuan. Uji lanjut dilakukan dengan beda nyata terkecil (BNT) jika terdapat perbedaan signifikan pada α ≤ 5%. Karakteristik kimia produk dianalisis dengan komposisi proksimat, kadar kalsium dan kadar fosfor. Selain itu dilakukan perbandingan produk dengan standar mutu tepung tulang (SNI 01-3158-1992). Karakteristik kimia tepung tulang itik terbaik dihasilkan pada perlakuan suhu pengeringan 200 OC dan lama pengeringan 1 jam (P3) dengan rata-rata kadar air 2.88%, kadar abu 40.46%, kadar serat 0.47%, kadar protein 40.71%, kadar lemak 13.81%, kadar kalsium 1.90%, dan kadar fosfor 8.56%. Duck bone waste is still become community attention, especially in the Sidrap district, South of Sulawesi Province, because it has many ducks palekko' food stalls that produce solid waste in the form of duck bone. Processing this waste into the innovative product (done bone meal) was essential to minimize the waste. This study aimed to determine the effect of drying temperature and time on the chemical characteristics of the duck bone meal. The research method was modification the method used by [1], including washing, cutting, boiling bones, cleaning, drying, and shining. The experimental design was a completely randomized experimental design (CRD), one factorial, consisting of 3 treatments and three replications, namely P1 (T1=100OC; t1=5 hours), P2 (T2=150OC; t2=3 hours), and P3 (T3=200OC; t3=1 hour). Data were processed and tested ANOVA to see differences among treatments. If there was a significant difference among treatments at α ≤ 5%, a further test was carried out using the least significant difference (LSD). The product was characterized by proximate composition, calcium content, and phosphorus content. The analysis was also carried out to compare the bone meal quality with standard (SNI 01-3158-1992). The duck bone meal that has the best characteristics was in the treatment of 200OC and 1 hour drying time (P3) with an average result of 2.88% moisture content, 40.46% ash content, 0.47% fiber content, 40.71% protein, 13.81% fat content, 1.90% calcium content and 8.56% phosphorus content.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the increase in welfare of beef cattle production sharing systems. Data collection time is from January to February 2020. The research was conducted in Kulo Subdistrict, Sidenreng Rappang District, Survey Research Methodology. A sample of 64 farmers was taken (total sampling). Data analysis method is testing statistical models using SEM SmartPLS (Partial Least Square) 2.0. The results of the study explained that the Improvement of Beef Cattle Farmers' Welfare Sharing in the District of Kulo could be done with strategies to improve the aspects of individual farmers, improve stakeholder relations, and improve the quality of farmers.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pola kemitraan bagi hasil yang dilakukan oleh perguruan tinggi (Universitas Hasanuddin) dengan peternak sapi potong yang ada di Kecamatan Tanete Riaja Kabupaten Barru. Penelitian ini dilakukan pada bulan Oktober-November 2019. Jenis penelitian yaitu deskriptif. Sumber data yaitu data primer dan data sekunder. Jenis data yaitu data kuantitatif dan data kualitatif. Analisis data yang digunakan analisis deskriptif untuk mendeskripsikan pelaksanaan sistem kemitraan bagi hasil antara perguruan tinggi dengan usaha peternakan sapi potong serta manfaat yang didapatkan perguruan tinggi dengan adanya kemitraan bagi hasil dengan usaha peternakan sapi potong. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian di Kecamatan Tanete Riaja Kabupaten Barru menunjukkan bahwa pelaksanaan kemitraan bagi hasil antara Universitas Hasanuddin dengan usaha peternakan sapi potong, memiliki pola hubungan perguliran indukan mulai dari MBC Unhas diserahkan ke kelompok untuk kemudian diberikan ke peternak yang ingin bermitra dengan Unhas. Manfaat yang didapatkan Perguruan Tinggi (Universitas Hasanuddin) dalam pelaksanaan kemitraan bagi hasil dengan peternak yaitu sebagai pusat teaching industry, pusat penelitian dan pengembangan iptek serta pengabdian masyarakat.

Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pada tingkatan mana motivasi peternak dalam beternak sapi potong dengan mengukur kebutuhan hidup keluarga. Penelitian dilakukan pada bulan Agustus hingga September 2020 pada kelompok ternak Jaya Bersama dengan total responden 30 anggota kelompok ternak dengan mengambil seluruh jumlah populasi peternak yang berada dalam kelompok ternak jaya Bersama. Data dianalisis dengan menggunakan statistik deskriptif dengan menggunakan tabel distribusi frequensi. Hasil penelitian menjelaskan bahwa pemenuhan kebutuhan di Kelurahan Massepe Kab. Sidenreng Rappang yaitu mendapatkan skoring 89, berada pada kategori Sedang. Berdasarkan hasil tersebut diketahui bahwa pemeliharaan sapi potong bukanlah pekerjaan pokok peternak melainkan hanya bersifat sampingan karena jika mengandalkan dari usaha pertanian yang merupakan usaha pokok tidaklah cukup. Usaha tani komoditi pertanian yang dikombinasikan dengan sistem usaha bagi hasil ternak sapi potong dapat menambah pendapatan petani/peternak sehingga kesejahteraannya dapat meningkat. Abstract

This research examines zeolite-Y made from sidrap clay and rice husk ash as the adsorption of copper (Cu) and lead (Pb) metals. The method used is hydrothermal, using an autoclave with variations of Pb and Cu metals, namely 200, 400, and 600 ppm. The results showed that zeolite-Y was able to adsorb Cu and Pb well, as evidenced by the presence of Pb and Cu in the mapping results and EDS (Energy Dispersive X-Ray) and SEM (Scanning Electron Microscopy) showed the morphology of each sample of Cu and Pb metals. Pores indicate the absorption of Cu and Pb metals in the zeolite. The results of AAS (Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometer) show that the greater the levels of Cu and Pb produced, the greater the absorbent level.

Abstract

The duck livestock business is one of the business branches in the livestock sector which is now widely cultivated by the community. Especially in South Sulawesi, duck farming has increased over the last 5 years. This happened because the duck culinary business increased along with the increasing demand and purchasing power of the people. In the aspect of duck farming, the feed factor is one of the problems faced by farmers because the proportion of financing can reach 60-80%. To overcome this, one solution that can be done is to utilize locally available feed ingredients sustainably. Gosse (Ceratophyllum sp) is one type of aquatic plant which if its production is excessive in ponds, can harm the growth of milkfish and shrimp. Its potential is so great, that it is considered very worthy of research. This study aims to determine the potential of Gosse as feed for ducks based on the production of fresh material, dry matter, and carrying capacity based on Geographic Information System (GIS) data. The research method applied includes 4 stages, namely Geographic Information System (GIS) analysis, analysis of fresh and dry matter production, nutritional quality analysis, and production conversion to calculate carrying capacity. The results showed that the production of fresh matter reached 74.7 tons/ha/year and the production of the dry matter reached 4,482 tons/ha/year. The production of gosse in Tellumpanua Village in total reached 1,157.09 tons/year in a fresh state and 70.3674 tons//year in a dry state. Based on these data, the carrying capacity of gosse at 30%, 50%, and 70% use respectively is 270, 162, and 115 head/ha/year or 4239, 2543, and 1805 head/year.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the extent to which farmers in adopting the technology of artificial insemination by measuring the time it takes breeders from receipt of the information to be applied , the quality of AI ( Application and recommendation ) , and Area Applied IB in cattle . The research was conducted in August - September 2014 against 30 respondents from 30 populations breeders who use technology AI ( Artificial Insemination ) . Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics by using tables Distribution Frekuwensi results showed adoption rate of technological innovation Artificial Insemination ( AI ) in beef cattle farms in the district Lalabata Soppeng ie Stage time is needed breeders from the receipt of the information to be obtained on application High category in the sense of the ability of farmers to adopt an innovation has been rapid , stage area located on the application of Low Category this suggests that the broad application of the implementation of the AI in the district as a whole Lalabata the breeder has done these activities , but not all animals in peliharanya apply technology Artificial Insemination ( AI ) , and Phase AI quality is in the category Medium this suggests that the quality of AI in District Lalabata Soppeng ie almost entirely of farmers already know the signs of estrus in livestock before conducting AI.
