Abstract

The ability to analyze conservation problems is a high-level thinking skill.crucial high level skills in biology learning, but in fact these skills are still not fully developed.trained in schools. This study aims to determine the influence of the learning model project on the ability to analyze environmental conservation problems in students. The method used was a quasi-experimental design with a non-equivalent control group design. The research subjects were class X students of SMAN 6 Padangsidimpuan City who participated in the training.biology subjects in the 2025/2026 academic year, selected using a purposive sampling technique. Instrument in the form of a validated descriptive test used to measure analytical ability, while analysis The data analysis was carried out using a mean difference test (t-test) at a significance level of 5%. The main findings show that the project learning model has a positive and significant influence on students' abilities analyzing environmental conservation problems. The syntax of the project learning model which begins with basic questions, project planning, scheduling, monitoring, testing results, up to evaluation providing meaningful learning experiences that equip students to process data, distinguishing phenomena, detailing, describing, looking for relationships, and drawing conclusions based on the investigation. Thus, the project learning model is recommended as alternative strategies to improve environmental conservation analysis skills at the high school level.
