Abstract

The individual learning strategy is an approach that places students at the center of the learning process by considering their unique abilities, interests, and needs. However, learning practices in Indonesia remain largely uniform and have not fully embodied the principles of Freedom to Learn, which emphasize independence, flexibility, and recognition of diverse learning styles. This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of individual learning strategies in improving students’ learning outcomes, motivation, and independence through a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) approach. The review was conducted in three main stages planning, implementation, and reporting by examining 20 scientific articles published between 2017 and 2025 from reputable databases such as GARUDA, SINTA, and Google Scholar. The findings indicate that individual learning strategies are effectively implemented in both general and inclusive education settings, as they allow adjustments to learning goals, methods, and materials based on students’ characteristics. This approach also supports the realization of adaptive, student-centered, and flexible learning aligned with the spirit of Merdeka Belajar. Nevertheless, several challenges remain, including limited resources, time constraints, and teachers’ pedagogical readiness. Therefore, professional development, teacher training, and the integration of educational technology are essential to optimize its implementation. The results of this study are expected to provide practical insights for educators in designing inclusive, innovative, and learner-oriented instructional practices that reflect the values of Merdeka Belajar in modern education.

Abstract

Collaboration and communication skills are key 21st-century competencies that must be developed within educational settings. However, empirical evidence indicates that learning processes in Indonesia are still largely dominated by conventional, teacher-centered approaches, which limit student participation and interaction. This study aims to examine the effectiveness of group learning strategies using the Cooperative Learning approach in enhancing students’ learning outcomes, motivation, and social skills. The research employs a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) method, encompassing three main stages: planning, implementation, and reporting. Articles were gathered from reputable academic databases such as GARUDA, SINTA, and Google Scholar, covering publications from 2017 to 2025, and were rigorously selected based on relevance and methodological quality. The analysis of 20 selected studies reveals that Cooperative Learning consistently improves student engagement, individual responsibility, critical thinking, and teamwork. Nevertheless, its implementation still encounters challenges, including uneven participation among group members, limited instructional time, and teachers’ preparedness in managing classroom dynamics. The study recommends strengthening teachers’ roles as facilitators, integrating digital learning media, and applying diverse Cooperative Learning models such as STAD, TGT, and Jigsaw to foster active, collaborative, and enjoyable learning environments. These findings are expected to provide practical insights for educators in designing adaptive, student-centered learning strategies that align with the demands of modern education.

Abstract

Student creativity is one of the essential competencies that must be developed in 21st-century learning to foster learners who are innovative, adaptive, and capable of solving problems contextually. However, various studies indicate that learning processes in schools remain predominantly teacher-centered and provide limited opportunities for students to optimally develop creative thinking skills. This study aims to analyze effective learning strategies for enhancing student creativity across different educational levels through a library research approach. The review was conducted through stages of planning, data collection, and analysis by examining 20 scholarly articles published between 2020 and 2025 and obtained from academic databases such as Google Scholar, Garuda, and SINTA-indexed journals. The findings reveal that innovative learning strategies, particularly Project Based Learning (PjBL), consistently improve student creativity, as reflected in increased ability to generate diverse ideas, think flexibly, and produce original and meaningful work. In addition to PjBL, STEM/STEAM approaches, technology-based learning, differentiated instruction, and the integration of local wisdom have also been shown to contribute positively to the development of student creativity. Nevertheless, the implementation of these strategies faces challenges, including limited time, inadequate facilities, teacher readiness, and varying levels of student participation. Therefore, this study recommends strengthening teacher competencies through continuous professional development, integrating educational technology, and developing evaluation systems that emphasize creative thinking processes. The results of this review are expected to serve as a reference for educators in designing innovative learning practices that are responsive to the demands of 21st-century education.
