The objective of this research was to know whether there is any correlation between memory and uses of the words meanings and usages. There are there research problems were examined. It is about the total words meanings and usages remembered by the students, the uses of the words meanings and usages in the four language skills, and the correlation between memory and uses of the words meanings and usages. This research conducted at SMP N 5 Singaraja and the sample used was students in the seven grade consisted of 62 students. The data were collected using test and questionnaire. The result of test shows that the highest total number of words meanings and usages remembered by the students is 115 words (90%) from the total number of words is 128 words while the lowest total number of words meanings and usages remembered by the students is 64 words (50%). The most word class remembered by students in terms of word meanings and usages is noun that is 75% and word class adverb is 42% remembered by the students. The result of questionnaire shows that students used words meanings and usages frequently in reading. In reading, 62 students (100%) used words meanings and usages in terms of word class noun, verb, adjective, and adverb. The result of data analysis shows that there is a significant correlation between memory and uses of words meanings and usages. It could be seen by looking at the result of Point-Biserial Correlation coefficient r that is 0.564.Â Key Words: memory, uses of Â words meanings and usages

This study aimed at investigating undergraduate studentsâ€™ perception towards the use of Mendeley referencing system on studentsâ€™ thesis writing and describe challenges faced by undergraduate students when using Mendeley on thesis writing. This study used mixed-method research design, particularly explanatory sequential mixed-method. 100 undergraduate students of English Language Education, Ganesha Univesity of Education involved in this study. The instruments used in this study are questionnaire and interview. Questionnaire consisted of 16 statements and interview consisted of 12 questions. The result of questionnaire showed very positive perception which means the students strongly agreed that Mendeley usage on studentsâ€™ thesis writing is highly useful. Moreover, the interview result showed the challenges came up when the students connecting Mendeley to Ms. Word and the meta data of articles and books could not generated automatically. Thus, the students need to re-check and input the meta data manually.

Learning Technology plays a crucial role in the development of education in Indonesia. Teachers should use IT to increase students' learning motivation. Blended learning is one way teachers should facilitate learning interactions that combine conventional learning methods with technology. Google Classroom is one of the most accessible applications to help teachers and students need more time to study online learning. In online learning, several applications can have both positive and negative impacts during the process. This study aims to analyze. Advantages and Disadvantages of Google Classroom for Mixed Learning. This type of research is qualitative. The subjects of this study were 12 students. Data collection was done by observation and interviews. The instrument used to collect data is a questionnaire. The technique used to analyze the data is descriptive qualitative and quantitative analysis. The result of the research is that 85% of students have difficulty communicating in writing in the comments column. In addition, 5% of students stated that it is easy to share and share ideas during online interactions. In contrast, 40% of students stated that Google Classroom was easy to operate and use.

Menulis adalah salah satu keterampilan produktif dalam belajar bahasa Inggris. Ada berbagai macam pendekatan untuk meningkatkan keterampilan menulis. Salah satunya adalah dengan pendekatan Genre Based Approach. Menulis adalah salah satu keterampilan yang susah dikuasai peserta didik, oleh karena itu penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengatasi masalah keterampilan menulis dengan mengimplementasikan pendekatan Genre based approach dalam menulis teks explanation. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian tindakan kelas. PTK akan berjalan dalam dua siklus. Fokus dalam penelitian ini akan dibatasi pada hasil unjuk kerja menulis peserta didik yang akan dinilai menggunakan rubrik menulis. 19 orang peserta didik kelas 11 IIS 1 di SMA Laboratorium Undiksha dipilih menjadi subjek penelitian. Pre-test dan post-test digunakan untuk mengambil data nilai hasil unjuk kerja menulis peserta didik. Sebagai tambahan, data yang diperoleh akan dianalisis dengan dukungan dari lembar observasi.. Hasil dari penelitian yang dilakukan menunjukan bahwa masalah peserta didik dalam kurangnya keterampilan menulis dapat teratasi dengan digunakannya pendekata Genre based approach. Ini ditunjukkan dengan adanya lebih dari 75% peserta didik memiliki nilai diatas KKM dan memiliki peningkatan nilai keterampilan menulis pada post-test.Â Â

This study was conducted as an attempt to investigate in what step of scientific approach theteachers most frequently use translation in English Language Teaching as well as to find out the teachers’reasons toward the use of translation in English Language Teaching based on scientific approach atSMP Negeri 4 Singaraja and SMP Negeri 5 Singaraja. It was conducted in qualitative research design.There were two teachers chosen as the subjects of study. The data were collected through audio recordingthe teaching and learning process and interviewing the subjects of study, while the techniques ofanalyzing data were done descriptively following the four processes according to the theory of Miles &Huberman (1984), namely: data collection, data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. Theresults of analysis indicated that the teachers most frequently used translation in exploring step of scientificapproach. In addition, there were seven teachers’ reasons found in relation to the use of translationin the classroom, namely to help the students’ difficulty in: (1) understanding the instruction given bythe teacher, (2) understanding the English vocabulary, (3) asking something in English, (4) understandingthe tenses or grammar, (5) understanding the material deeply, (6) doing the task, and (7) presentingtheir work. The related parties interested in the same area of the research should give deeper concern indoing wider range of aspects involved in further study.Keywords : Translation, the Use of L1 in ELT, Scientific Approach

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan strategi belajar siswa dengan cacat visual (VIS). Ditemukan bahwa ada 6 strategi yang digunakan yaitu (1) kognitif yaitu berlatih, mengulang, mendapatkan ide, menganalisis dan membuat reasoning, meringkas dan menerjemahkan; (2) metakognitif, mereka memperhatikan pelajaran dan menunjukkan bukti pemahaman; (3) strategi sosial, mereka berempati dengan orang lain, membuat pertanyaan, membuat ulasan, meminta saran, meminta konfirmasi; (4) afektif, dengan menurunkan kecemasan, (5) ingatan, dengan membuat asosiasi, membuat konteks kata kata, mengingat, mengingat pengalaman visual, membuat simpulan dan mengambil kembali ide sebelumnya; (6) kompensasi, dengan mengatasi keterbatasan dalam berbicara dan menulis, berusaha memberikan jawaban dan menggunakan bahasa campuran.Kata-kata kunci: EFL, strategi pembelajaran, siswa cacat visual

Previous studies on motivation had been broadly researched, but little attention was given to learning pedagogical courses motivation. Thus, this qualitative research with case-study research design was conducted. This research aimed to describe ELE students’ motivation in learning pedagogical courses. The collecting data used were questionnaire, interview guidance, and human instrument. The obtained data were analyzed qualitatively through interactive data analysis. The result portrays there are more ELE students tend to be intrinsically motivated in learning pedagogical courses; the rest are identified to be extrinsically motivated, amotivated, and undefined motivation students. The reasons underlying their motivation in learning pedagogical courses can be categorized into: 1) internal reasons (mood, goals, passion, perspective, & personality) and 2) external reasons (parental, score, and lecturer).

The aim of this research is to identify how to develop and how is the quality of a prototype instructional video to help English teachers at SMA Laboratorium Undiksha Singaraja develop their questioning skills in teaching English. This study was a Design and Development research following ADDIE steps: Analysis, Design, Develop, Implementation and evaluation. The study showed that there were four steps to develop the prototype, they were: planning, creating prototype, prototype testing and upgrading the preliminary prototype. Also, the study suggested that the prototype was considered a good instructional video for developing questioning skills. Each evaluator completed a quantitative questionnaire and made qualitative comments. The quantitative analysis scored 98% for content, 93% for media, and 90% from users. Those numbers are categorized as very good product where it does not need any revision. Indeed, qualitative analysis gained some suggestions and comments from the experts where there are some weaknesses in the area of content and media. Though there were some revisions for the prototype, the prototype was considered as a good prototype to be finalized later as a ready-to-use product. Implication for future researcher to develop the prototype to a final product for English teachers’ professional learning is mentioned.

This research aimed to investigate undergraduate EFL students’ perception towards the use of Microsoft Word Referenceson students’ thesis and factors that influence the perception. This research used a sequential mixed method. There were 25 students from 7th semester of English Language Education, Ganesha University of Education, involved in this research.The research instruments were questionnaire and interview. The results from the questionnaires were analyzed usingmean score ideal (Mi) and standard deviation ideal (SDi), and data from the interviews were analyzed using interactivemodel analysis by Miles and Huberman. From the ideal mean score analysis, the mean score of undergraduate EFLstudents’ perception towards the use of Microsoft Word References on students’ thesis was 41.84, which was categorizedas average. This means Microsoft Word References can be used in managing citation and reference in thesis writing.Moreover, the interview result shows 11 factors that influence undergraduate EFL students’ perception towards the use ofMicrosoft Word References on students’ thesis, namely attitudes, motives, interests, expectations, novelty, motion, size,background, proximity, and time. The factors build two trends, positive and negative perceptions.

This research aimed to describe the implementation of inclusive education and identify the challenges students might have in English courses at SMK N 3 Singaraja. The research subjects were students with disabilities and regular students who studied at XI MM 2 (Multi-media). This research was a case study that used the descriptive qualitative method. The data collection was done by conducting a questionnaire and interview guide sequentially. The student's perception was measured from 3 aspects, namely perceiver, target, and social setting. The result from the questionnaire and interview was analyzed continuously and described descriptively. This research showed that students with disabilities and regular students have a good perception of inclusive education implementation. However, there were several challenges, such as lacking adaptation with inclusive classrooms, time, facilities, and special teachers. It implied that the teacher and school's staff should give examples, more chances, and more attention to the inclusive class students.
