Abstract

The International Community Service Program themed “Integration of Social Media Algorithms in Optimizing the Use of Digital Marketing for Micro and Small Enterprises (MSEs) in Indonesia and Malaysia” is a collaborative initiative between Universitas Jambi (UNJA) and Universiti Poly-Tech Malaysia (UPTM). This program aims to enhance the digital literacy capacity of micro-entrepreneurs through a comprehensive understanding of social media algorithms and the application of creative content strategies rooted in local wisdom and culture. The implementation methods include interactive training sessions, thematic workshops, intensive mentoring, and cross-country benchmarking to strengthen knowledge transfer and the adoption of best practices. The results demonstrate a significant improvement in participants’ digital competencies, reflected in their enhanced ability to optimize social media algorithms for product marketing, the establishment of a cross-border digitalpreneur community between Indonesia and Malaysia, and the development of adaptive digital marketing training modules and standard operating procedures (SOPs). The sustainability impact of this program not only increases the competitiveness and resilience of MSEs but also strengthens international academic collaboration between the two universities. Furthermore, this initiative contributes to achieving the universities’ Key Performance Indicators (KPI) and supports the development of an inclusive and sustainable digital economic ecosystem within the ASEAN region.

Abstract

Palm oil is one of Indonesia’s leading export commodities and plays an important role in supporting export revenue and international trade performance. This study aims to analyze the development of Indonesian palm oil exports and examine the influence of gross domestic product (GDP), exchange rates, and population on Indonesian palm oil exports to its three major destination countries, namely India, China, and Pakistan, during the period 2012–2022. This study employed a quantitative approach using descriptive analysis and panel data regression. The findings show that Indonesian palm oil exports to the three destination countries fluctuated during the observation period, with India recording the highest average export value and Pakistan showing a stronger upward trend toward the end of the period. The regression results indicate that GDP and exchange rates have a positive and significant effect on Indonesian palm oil exports, while population has a significant negative effect. These findings suggest that destination-country macroeconomic conditions and price competitiveness play an important role in shaping Indonesia’s palm oil export performance. This study contributes to the international trade literature by providing comparative empirical evidence on the demand-side determinants of Indonesian palm oil exports across major destination countries. In addition, the findings offer practical insights for strengthening export competitiveness and developing export-oriented trade strategies in the global palm oil market.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the contribution of Regional Original Revenue (PAD) sources, the growth of PAD, and the level of regional fiscal independence in Tanjung Jabung Barat Regency during the 2017–2024 period. The PAD sources examined include local taxes, regional retributions, returns from separated regional assets, and other legitimate PAD. The data used in this study are secondary data in the form of Budget Realization Reports (LRA) of Tanjung Jabung Barat Regency for the period 2017–2024, obtained from the Regional Revenue Agency (Bapenda) of Tanjung Jabung Barat and the Directorate General of Fiscal Balance. This research employs a quantitative descriptive approach. The analytical techniques used include contribution analysis of PAD sources (local taxes, regional retributions, returns from separated regional assets, and other legitimate PAD), PAD growth analysis, and fiscal independence ratio analysis. The results indicate that PAD is predominantly contributed by other legitimate PAD, accounting for 62.54% of total PAD, followed by local taxes contributing 26.06%, while regional retributions and returns from separated regional assets contribute relatively low proportions. The growth of PAD during the study period shows fluctuations influenced by economic conditions, including the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic. Furthermore, the level of fiscal independence in Tanjung Jabung Barat Regency is categorized as very low, as reflected in the high dependence on transfer funds from the central government and other governmental assistance.

Abstract

Human development can be measured using the Islamic Human Development Index (IHDI) indicator for countries with a majority Muslim population. Variables that affect IHDI include fiscal independence, private investment, zakat performance and economic growth. However, there is still not much literature on IHDI and its application in Indonesia, especially in Jambi Province. This study aims to analyse the partial and simultaneous effects of fiscal independence (FI), private investment (PI), zakat performance (ZP) and economic growth (EG) on IHDI in Jambi Province. The data used is panel data in the form of time series data for 5 years, namely 2017-2022 and cross section data on 11 regencies / cities in Jambi Province. The data analysis used is descriptive analysis and panel data regression analysis with an econometric model approach using the Eviews 8 programme. The results showed that simultaneously FI, PI, ZP and EG had a significant effect on IHDI. Partially, there is a significant effect of FI, ZP and EG on IHDI.  The integration of key factors, studies in the Islamic context, measurement of the impact on IHDI, the use of econometric models and contributions to public policy are novelty in this study
