Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis dampak penggunaan gadget terhadap perkembangan sosial anak usia dini. Dengan kemajuan teknologi yang pesat, gadget telah menjadi bagian penting dari kehidupan sehari-hari anak-anak. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah studi literatur dan analisis data sekunder dari berbagai sumber terpercaya. Data dikumpulkan melalui tinjauan pustaka yang meliputi jurnal, artikel ilmiah, dan laporan penelitian terkait. Pendekatan kualitatif diterapkan untuk mengidentifikasi dan menganalisis dampak yang timbul akibat penggunaan gadget di kalangan anak-anak usia dini, serta bagaimana gadget mempengaruhinya. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan gadget dapat memberikan manfaat edukatif dan hiburan yang signifikan. Gadget memberikan akses mudah ke berbagai aplikasi pendidikan yang mendukung proses pembelajaran dan pengembangan keterampilan digital anak-anak, seperti kemampuan memecahkan masalah dan kreativitas. Penggunaan teknologi juga dapat meningkatkan akses ke sumber informasi dan alat belajar yang mendukung prestasi akademik. Namun, penelitian ini juga mengidentifikasi beberapa dampak negatif yang signifikan. Penggunaan gadget yang tidak terkontrol dapat mengakibatkan berkurangnya interaksi sosial tatap muka antara anak-anak, yang penting untuk perkembangan keterampilan sosial dan emosional mereka. Selain itu, gadget dapat mengganggu pola tidur anak, terutama jika digunakan menjelang waktu tidur, yang dapat mempengaruhi kualitas tidur dan kesehatan secara keseluruhan. Penurunan aktivitas fisik juga menjadi perhatian, karena waktu yang dihabiskan di depan layar seringkali mengurangi waktu bermain aktif dan olahraga.

Abstract

This study aimed to investigate the dynamics of religious harmony and the strategies employed by Muslims and Christians in Mandailing Natal to build cohesive relationships through the indigenous cultural framework known as Dalihan Na Tolu. This study employed a qualitative descriptive method. Data collection was carried out through in-depth interviews, participant observation, and a literature review. Data analysis followed the Miles and Huberman model, which includes data presentation, data reduction, and conclusion drawing. The findings showed that the Muslim and Christian communities worked together to build peace and nurture religious harmony in Mandailing Natal. The cultural practice of Dalihan Na Tolu has long served as a foundation for accommodating the multicultural Mandailing society in fostering religious harmony and peace. The role of Dalihan Na Tolu could be seen in three aspects: socio-religious, economic, and customary practices. In these aspects, Muslims and Christians respected each other, fostered cooperation (gotong royong), and adopted a moderate and inclusive attitude towards diversity in their daily lives. Maintaining interfaith harmony through the cultural practice of Dalihan Na Tolu in Mandailing Natal is a crucial social modality that can contribute to peacebuilding and serve as a relevant strategy for preserving religious harmony in multicultural societies.

Abstract

This study investigated the role of the Naqshbandiyya al-Waliyya Ṭarīqa in promoting religious moderation among the students of Dayah Mudi Mesra Samalanga, Aceh. Utilizing a qualitative case study approach, the data were collected through interviews, observations, and document analysis. The research aimed to understand how the teachings and spiritual practices of TNW shape a tolerant and balanced religious environment. The findings indicate that TNW’s practices significantly contribute to transforming the students’ attitudes from exclusive to inclusive and tolerant, characterized by high levels of social solidarity and openness towards others, regardless of their religious or ethnic backgrounds. The leadership of Abu Mudi as TNW’s murshid significantly contributes to instilling values of moderation. This study offers a new perspective on the interaction between Sufi rites and the promotion of religious moderation, a topic rarely discussed in previous literature, enriching the discourse on the role of Islamic spiritual movements in fostering peace and tolerance in pluralistic societies.

Abstract

ABSTRACT ENGLISH:Sexual violence is a global issue with multidimensional impacts, including psychological, social, and legal consequences. This study aims to analyze gender bias in local media coverage of sexual violence cases in Mandailing Natal using Sara Mills' critical discourse analysis approach. Data were sourced from three lokal online media outlets: Mandailing Online, Malintang Pos, and MohgaNews. The findings reveal that the media often position women as passive objects, focusing on perpetrators and sensationalizing narratives. This study provides new insights into how media reinforce gender stigma through framing. By integrating framing theory and critical discourse analysis, it contributes to the literature on media and gender justice, recommending more empathetic and victim-centered journalistic practices. ABSTRACT INDONESIAN:Kekerasan seksual merupakan isu global dengan dampak multidimensional, termasuk psikologis, sosial, dan hukum. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis bias gender dalam pemberitaan media lokal terkait kasus kekerasan seksual di Mandailing Natal dengan menggunakan pendekatan analisis wacana kritis Sara Mills. Data diambil dari tiga media online lokal: Mandailing Online, Malintang Pos, dan MohgaNews. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa media cenderung memosisikan perempuan sebagai objek pasif, dengan penekanan pada pelaku dan sensasi narasi. Penelitian ini memberikan wawasan baru tentang bagaimana media dapat memperkuat stigma gender melalui pembingkaian berita. Dengan mengintegrasikan teori framing dan analisis wacana kritis, penelitian ini berkontribusi pada literatur tentang media dan keadilan gender serta merekomendasikan praktik jurnalistik yang lebih empatik dan berbasis korban.

Abstract

Penelitian ini membahas pemberdayaan wanita dalam sektor informal, dengan fokus pada pengemudi ojek Suru-Suru All Delivery di Mandailing Natal yang menjalankan peran ganda sebagai ibu rumah tangga dan pencari nafkah. Studi ini bertujuan untuk mengeksplorasi pengelolaan peran ganda tersebut, dampaknya terhadap ketahanan ekonomi keluarga, serta tantangan yang dihadapi. Penelitian kualitatif ini menggunakan metode studi kasus dengan wawancara mendalam, observasi partisipatif, dan dokumentasi pada lima partisipan. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa pekerjaan ini berkontribusi signifikan terhadap pemenuhan kebutuhan dasar, pendidikan anak, dan tabungan keluarga, meskipun terdapat tantangan seperti kelelahan fisik, stigma sosial, dan masalah keamanan. Penelitian ini menawarkan perspektif baru dengan mengkaji pengalaman wanita di sektor transportasi daring di daerah pedesaan yang kurang dieksplor oleh studi sebelumnya. Hasil ini memberikan rekomendasi bagi pengambil kebijakan untuk menciptakan peluang kerja inklusif yang mendukung pemberdayaan ekonomi wanita di daerah pinggiran.

Abstract

This study aimed to explore students' potential through a constructivism approach to Arabic language learning. This study employed a descriptive qualitative, this research analyzes the impact of the constructivism approach on students' engagement, understanding, and critical thinking in the context of Arabic language learning. Data were collected through observations, interviews, and document studies in two Arabic language classes at SD-IT Al-Furqan and SD-IT Adnani. The results indicated that the constructivism approach can enhance students' engagement, communication skills, and critical thinking abilities. Students involved in constructivism-based activities show significant improvements in language understanding, the application of language concepts in real-world contexts, as well as reflective and collaborative skills. These findings showed that constructivist learning can play a crucial role in optimizing students' potential in Arabic language learning. The study recommends greater support for teachers in implementing this approach and further exploring its long-term impact on Arabic language learning.

Abstract

This study aims to examine Shawqi Deif's views on the renewal of Arabic grammar teaching for non-Arab speakers as outlined in his book Renewing Grammar and analyze his efforts in presenting grammar materials more effectively. The research method used is a literature review by analyzing the contents of the book Renewing Grammar and other relevant works to understand the idea of grammar renewal proposed by Shawqi Deif. The results of the study indicate that Shawqi Deif has several main views in grammar renewal, such as eliminating irrelevant discretionary and local parsing, limiting parsing to aspects that help understanding, establishing more accurate definitions and controls for certain grammatical elements, and adding relevant materials while removing elements that are considered redundant. In his book, Deif presents grammar materials systematically, covering aspects of pronunciation, verb and noun conjugation, nominative, accusative, complement cases, and additional elements such as mention, deletion, and differentiation based on context. This study is expected to provide insight into Shawqi Deif's reform approach which can be a reference for developing a more contextual and efficient Arabic grammar teaching curriculum for non-Arab learners.

Abstract

This research aimed to explore the thought and efforts of Shauqi Dhaif in modernizing the teaching of Arabic grammar for non-Arabic speakers as presented in his book "Tajdîd al-Nahw". The findings reveal that Shauqi Dhaif proposes significant innovations, including the elimination of speculative and local grammatical analysis (i'rab takdiri and i'rab mahalli), and emphasizes practical utility by establishing detailed definitions and rules for various aspects of grammar. Furthermore, his efforts in restructuring grammar materials involve thorough discussions on word structure, verb conjugations, letter classifications, types of nouns, and more efficient sentence constructions. This approach aims to enhance non-Arabic students' understanding of Arabic grammar, facilitate the teaching and learning process more effectively, and provide a stronger foundation for practical application in everyday language use.

Abstract

AbstrakKegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan membekali Putera-Puteri Pariwisata Mandailing Natal 2023 dengan keterampilan berkomunikasi dalam bahasa Inggris yang diperlukan untuk secara efektif berkontribusi pada pengembangan pariwisata dan promosi budaya lokal. Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini juga bertujuan untuk memotivasi para peserta untuk mengevaluasi kemampuan berbahasa Inggris mereka, mengidentifikasi tantangan dalam pembelajaran bahasa Inggris, menemukan solusi, serta merumuskan misi dan visi mereka dalam upaya peningkatan kemampuan berbahasa asing dan promosi budaya lokal. Rangkaian pengabdian terdiri dari tiga tahapan, yaitu penilaian mandiri dan pengisian umpan balik terbuka, presentasi materi, serta evaluasi kegiatan. Hasil penilaian mandiri menunjukkan bahwa mayoritas peserta memiliki preferensi untuk berkomunikasi secara lisan dalam bahasa asing dibandingkan secara tertulis, dengan rasa tidak percaya diri dan kompleksitas tata bahasa Inggris di antara tantangan utama yang dihadapi peserta dalam meningkatkan keterampilan mereka. Melalui pemaparan materi tentang peranan dan manfaat bahasa Inggris sebagai lingua franca beserta tips dan trik belajar dan mengatasi kesulitan belajar, peserta mampu merumuskan dan mempresentasikan upaya-upaya yang akan mereka tempuh dalam meningkatkan kemampuan bahasa asing dan mempromosikan budaya dan pariwisata lokal Mandailing Natal. Tiga peserta dengan presentasi terbaik berdasarkan rubrik penilaian presentasi kemudian dipilih. Hasil evaluasi kegiatan, selain menunjukkan tingkat kepuasan yang tinggi dari peserta terhadap pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini, juga menggarisbawahi perlunya dukungan berkelanjutan dalam program-program yang memberdayakan individu muda untuk menjadi duta budaya yang efektif, sehingga memastikan pelestarian dan promosi warisan budaya Mandailing Natal untuk generasi mendatang. Kata kunci: putera puteri pariwisata; mandailing natal; budaya lokal; bahasa inggris; lingua franca. AbstractThis community service initiative aimed to equip the 2023 Mandailing Natal Tourism Ambassadors with the English communication skills needed to effectively contribute to tourism development and promote local culture. The program also sought to motivate the participants to evaluate their English proficiency, identify challenges in learning English, find solutions, and establish their mission and vision to improve their foreign language skills and promote local culture. The series of activities consists of three stages, which include self-assessment and open feedback, material presentation, and program evaluation. The self-assessment results showed that most participants prefer oral communication in a foreign language over written communication, with lack of confidence and English grammar complexity being the main challenges they face in improving their skills. Through a presentation on the role and benefits of English as a lingua franca, as well as learning tips and strategies for overcoming language-learning difficulties, the participants were able to formulate and present their planned efforts to improve foreign language skills and promote Mandailing Natal’s local culture and tourism. Three participants with the best presentations, based on a presentation rubric, were then selected. The program evaluation results, besides showing a high level of participant satisfaction, also highlighted the need for ongoing support in programs that empower young individuals to become effective cultural ambassadors, thereby ensuring the preservation and promotion of Mandailing Natal’s rich cultural heritage for future generations. Keywords: tourism ambassadors; mandailing natal; local culture; english; lingua franca.
