This qualitative descriptive by using simak method to collect the data and advance technique to observe at school. Based on the observation, the most frequently used type of questions by the teacher at lower grade was a low-level question, such as a question to understand. For teachers in higher grades, the tendency of the type of question remembered the question. Both types of teacher questions provide a low-level impact on students' thinking skills. The function of the most frequently used question was checking to understand. The function of question inside of learning interaction depended on the context, such as background, situation, purpose, topic, and doers. Abstract

The purpose of this study was to; analyze the differences between Gusjigang learning approach and conventional learning on student learning outcomes. The type of research used was a quantitative research method with a nonequivalent control group design. The population consisted of all fourth-grade students of Madrasah Ibtidaiyah TBS Kudus Regency. The sample was selected through a purposive sampling technique, so that class IV B was selected with 23 students as the experimental group and class IV C with 23 students as the control group. The data collection technique uses test techniques, namely the pre-test and post-test questions in the form of multiple choices and brief descriptions. The results obtained in the experimental class, namely the class that in the experimental class that experienced learning with the local wisdom model, Gusjigang gained an increase in learning outcomes by 83 in the high category. The N-Gain results in the control class are students who are taught with conventional learning, students who get low n-gain results are 56%, students who get moderate N-gain results are 44%, and none of the students achieves n-gain results high. Whereas in the experimental class, the students who were taught using Gusjigang's local wisdom-based learning, students who got a low n-gain result of 9%, students who got a moderate n-gain of 56%, and students who achieved a high n-gain of 35 %. This shows that the acquisition of student learning outcomes in the experimental class is better than that of the control class.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the improvement and profile of students' conceptual understanding through a local wisdom-based inquiry model. This research used mixed method with a sequential explanatory design. The population in this study were all class 5 students from six elementary schools in Mayong Jepara. The selection of sample of this study used simple random sampling technique. The study has two sample of class 5 of SD Negeri 2 and SD Negeri 3 Mayong Lor with 27 student and 30 student as the sample, respectively. The first stage is a quantitative method in the form of a true-experimental design with a pre-test and post-test control group design type. Data collection was used test, to know the understanding of the student on heat transfer concept. Then completed using documentation and interview for qualitative stage. Then for data analysis was used n-gain test and description according to Miles and Hubermans models. Based on the conceptual understanding score shows the average score obtained by the experimental class student was increased from 51.48 to 77.41 and the control class obtained an average increase from 52.33 to 66.00. The results of the average difference test of students’ conceptual understanding show that the sig. (2-tailed) value generated is 0.001 < 0.05, it indicates H0 is rejected, which means that there is a difference in conceptual understanding between the inquiry class and the local wisdom-based inquiry class. The profile of concept understanding on each indicator of class 5 students on the theme of heat and its transfer through the inquiry model as a whole is included in the good category with a percentage of 79.32 and the results of the interviews showed that students are easier to understand the material conveyed through direct observation to the roof tile manufacturing company.
