Abstract

The availability of medicines in health facilities is a key indicator of effective and quality health services. However, in many Community Health Centers (Puskesmas), including Ayamaru Puskesmas in Southwest Papua, drug stock instability often occurs due to weak operational procedures (SOP) for drug logistics. This study aims to analyze the implementation of the drug logistics SOP model in ensuring drug availability at the Ayamaru Community Health Center Pharmacy Installation through a qualitative approach. The research method used was a qualitative case study, with data collection techniques including in-depth interviews with pharmacy staff, direct observation of the logistics management process, and documentation of related documents such as stock records, drug requests, and distribution. Data analysis was conducted thematically based on aspects of the logistics SOP, including planning, receiving, storing, distributing, and recording drugs. The results showed that although the drug logistics SOP was in place, its implementation still faced obstacles such as limited human resources, delayed distribution from the district health office, and a lack of training and routine supervision. Furthermore, the recording and reporting system was largely manual, making it prone to errors and information delays. Therefore, strengthening the capacity of pharmacy staff, optimizing the logistics information system, and institutional commitment to consistently implementing the SOP are necessary. Therefore, understanding and improving the drug logistics SOP model can be key to ensuring sustainable drug availability at the Ayamaru Community Health Center, supporting equitable and quality access to healthcare services for the local community.

Abstract

Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) is a major global health problem that requires long-term therapy such as hemodialysis. The success of hemodialysis treatment is strongly influenced by the quality of interaction between healthcare providers and patients’ families, particularly in providing emotional support, information, and accompaniment throughout the treatment process. This study aims to analyze the interaction model between medical personnel and families of hemodialysis patients and to explore the factors that influence communication effectiveness in supporting treatment adherence and improving patients’ quality of life. This research employed a qualitative phenomenological approach to explore the lived experiences of healthcare professionals and family members in the Hemodialysis Unit of Hasanuddin University Hospital, Makassar. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and documentation review. A total of 20 participants took part in the study, consisting of 10 healthcare workers and 10 family caregivers. Data were analyzed using thematic analysis involving coding, categorization, and interpretation of phenomenological meanings. The findings indicate that therapeutic communication, empathy, and openness form the foundation of effective interactions between healthcare providers and families. Families play an essential role in offering emotional support, ensuring adherence to dialysis schedules, participating in medical decision-making, and providing logistical assistance. The study also identifies several barriers to effective interaction, including emotional distress, limited knowledge, time constraints, and differences in educational background. This research proposes an interaction model that emphasizes two-way collaboration, continuous education, and family-centered communication. This study contributes to strengthening therapeutic communication practices in hemodialysis settings and provides a foundation for developing policies that enhance humanistic and collaborative care between medical personnel, patients, and their families.

Abstract

Pricing of healthcare services is a crucial element in clinic management, influencing operational sustainability and patient access to treatment. However, pricing practices in many dental clinics are still determined conventionally based on market rates without a systematic cost calculation. This study aims to analyze Implementation Strategy of the Activity Based Costing (ABC) method in determining dental service fees at Abbasy Dental Clinic Purwokerto. A Qualitative Methods  approach was employed. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, direct observations, document analysis, and questionnaires administered to 50 patients and 10 clinic staff. The results indicate that the ABC method provides more accurate service cost calculations by identifying activities that generate expenses, including medical supplies (BHP), medical personnel fees, CSSD, dental equipment usage, dental unit costs, and administrative fees. The ABC-based pricing, using a 35% profit margin, resulted in final fees of IDR 226,125 for extraction, IDR 246,375 for GIC restoration, IDR 259,875 for scaling, and IDR 300,375 for composite restoration. Questionnaire results revealed positive patient perceptions regarding tariff transparency and fairness (mean > 4.18) and staff support for accuracy and efficiency in cost management (mean > 4.05). This study concludes that the ABC method can be applied as an accurate, fair pricing system that enhances patient trust and improves cost management effectiveness in dental clinics.

Abstract

The marketing mix is one of the strategies used to disseminate information, introduce products and services, and encourage consumers to make repeat purchases. Image plays an important role in determining the success of an institution, including hospitals. Patients’ intention to make repeat visits is influenced by several factors, including marketing strategies and a positive hospital image. This study aims to analyze the effect of the marketing mix and hospital image on the revisit intention of inpatients at dr. Rubini Regional Public Hospital, Mempawah Regency. This research employed a mixed-methods approach with an explanatory sequential design. The study began with a quantitative phase involving 100 respondents, complemented by qualitative data from interviews with six informants. The results show that five elements of the marketing mix—product, place, people, process, and physical evidence—as well as hospital image have a significant effect on patients’ revisit intention, whereas two elements of the marketing mix, promotion and price, do not have a significant effect. However, taken together, all nine variables have a significant effect on patients’ revisit intention. The qualitative findings support the importance of the marketing mix and hospital image for inpatients’ revisit intention.

Abstract

This study evaluated the utilization performance of the Hospital Management Information System (Sistem Informasi Manajemen Rumah Sakit/SIMRS) in optimizing outpatient and inpatient services at the PKU Muhammadiyah Clinic, North Lombok, Indonesia, and identified key constraints and improvement measures. A qualitative evaluative design was applied using direct observation, semi-structured interviews with ten informants (clinic staff and patients), and document analysis. Data were analyzed using an interactive qualitative analysis approach and credibility was strengthened through source and method triangulation. The findings indicate that SIMRS supports improved access to patient information, reduced administrative workload, and more convenient service procedures. However, optimization remains limited due to uneven user competence and digital literacy, insufficient training, outdated hardware, unstable internet connectivity, and incomplete system menus that require parallel manual processing. These constraints contribute to data inconsistencies, fragmented workflow integration, and challenges in insurance claim processes. Improving SIMRS performance requires integrated socio-technical interventions, including continuous capacity building, clearer user guidance and accountability for data entry, infrastructure upgrades, system refinement aligned with clinical workflows, and sustained organizational commitment.

Abstract

In emerging economies, understanding the interplay between digital transformation, peer-to-peer lending (P2P), and financial capability in shaping the sustainability of micro and small enterprises (MSEs) remains limited. This study examines how digital transformation influences business sustainability through a moderated-mediation model, with P2P lending as the mediator and financial literacy as the moderator. Drawing on the Resource-Based View (RBV) and the knowledge-based view, digital transformation is seen as a strategic intangible capability that enables firms to adapt and innovate. Using a quantitative approach, data were collected from 385 MSE owners in the greater Bandung area and analyzed with Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM). Results show that digital transformation significantly enhances both P2P lending adoption and business sustainability. However, P2P lending, both directly and indirectly, does not contribute to sustainability unless supported by high financial literacy. In addition, financial literacy strengthens the indirect effect of digital transformation through P2P lending. Theoretically, this study integrates RBV and fintech perspectives within a moderated mediation framework. In practice, it highlights the need for MSEs to align digital adoption with financial capability development to ensure that fintech lending effectively contributes to long-term sustainability.
