Abstract

The implementation of Total Quality Management (TQM) in Islamic education has become a crucial issue for improving service quality, learning, and institutional governance amid the challenges of globalization and the digital era. This study aims to explore the implementation of TQM in Islamic educational institutions and identify the barriers and their contribution to improving educational quality. The research method is a descriptive, qualitative approach, using in-depth interviews, participant observation, and document analysis across several Islamic schools and madrasas that have implemented TQM. The results show that although TQM has excellent potential to improve educational quality, its implementation is still hampered by a hierarchical organizational culture, a mismatch between modern managerial principles and Islamic educational culture, and limited infrastructure and human resources. This study concludes that to increase the effectiveness of TQM in Islamic education, there needs to be a more contextual and adaptive adjustment to the management model, as well as the strengthening of the integration of Islamic values across all managerial aspects. The contribution of this research is the development of a TQM model grounded more in Islamic moral and spiritual values.

Abstract

This article provides a comprehensive examination of educational management in the light of Islamic standards by exploring its theological, philosophical, and practical foundations derived from the Qur’an, the Hadith, and both classical and contemporary Muslim scholarship. Islamic standards emphasize that education is not solely the transmission of knowledge but also the cultivation of moral character, ethical behavior, and spiritual consciousness. Core principles such as tawhid (oneness of God), shura (consultation), amanah (trust and accountability), ‘adl (justice), and ihsan (excellence) serve as essential foundations for planning, organizing, leading, and evaluating educational institutions. This article further elaborates on prophetic leadership as an ideal model for educational administrators, the Tawhidic curriculum that integrates religious and worldly sciences, and teacher professionalism framed through the roles of mu’allim (knowledge transmitter), murabbi (character nurturer), and muaddib (ethics cultivator). The study also examines Islamic financial management through zakat, waqf, and voluntary charity as sustainable instruments for educational development.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis gaya kepemimpinan transformasional yang diterapkan oleh kepala sekolah di Sekolah Dasar Islam Al Fahd serta dampaknya terhadap lingkungan sekolah. Penelitian menggunakan metode kualitatif deskriptif dengan pengumpulan data melalui wawancara, observasi, dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kepala sekolah memainkan peran penting sebagai pemimpin transformasional dengan menyampaikan visi dan misi yang jelas, memberikan inspirasi, menjadi panutan, serta mendukung pengembangan individu. Gaya kepemimpinan ini berdampak positif terhadap motivasi guru, peningkatan inovasi dalam pembelajaran, dan perkembangan karakter siswa. Namun, terdapat beberapa tantangan dalam implementasinya, seperti keterbatasan sumber daya, resistensi terhadap perubahan, dan kebutuhan evaluasi berkala. Penelitian ini menegaskan pentingnya kepemimpinan transformasional dalam menciptakan lingkungan pendidikan yang kondusif, inovatif, dan berorientasi pada pembentukan karakter serta prestasi.

Abstract

The demand for high-quality and safe drinking water continues to increase in line with population growth and limited clean water sources. This study aims to analyze the effect of operating pressure and raw water sources (PDAM water and Sukomoro water) on the quality of drinking water produced by the Reverse Osmosis (RO) process using the Goldy ULP-2012-100G membrane. The research was conducted at the Energy Engineering Laboratory of Politeknik Negeri Sriwijaya over a period of six months, using pressure variations ranging from 3 to 7 bar. The parameters analyzed included TDS, pH, permeate flux, and rejection efficiency. The results showed that increasing operating pressure positively affected TDS removal efficiency, permeate flux, and pH improvement. The optimal pressure was found at 6 bar, achieving a 95% rejection rate and the highest permeate flux. PDAM water yielded more stable results compared to Sukomoro water, which showed fluctuations in the second trial, possibly due to fouling. The treated water from both sources met the drinking water quality standards based on the Indonesian Ministry of Health Regulation No. 492 of 2010 and No. 2 of 2023. This study confirms that the RO system using the Goldy ULP-2012-100G membrane can effectively process various raw water sources into potable water, with the best efficiency achieved at 6 bar of operating pressure.

Abstract

Kebutuhan akan air minum berkualitas tinggi semakin meningkat seiring dengan kesadaran masyarakat terhadap pentingnya kesehatan. Salah satu teknologi yang banyak digunakan dalam pengolahan air adalah reverse osmosis (RO), yang memanfaatkan membran semipermeabel untuk menyaring kontaminan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji pengaruh variasi tekanan kerja terhadap kualitas air hasil olahan menggunakan sistem double membrane reverse osmosis dengan air PDAM sebagai bahan baku. Metode yang digunakan melibatkan variasi tekanan antara 2 hingga 7 bar, dengan analisis parameter pH, Total Dissolved Solids (TDS), kandungan ion logam (Fe²⁺, Mn²⁺, Cl⁻), serta cemaran mikrobiologis (E. coli dan coliform). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa peningkatan tekanan kerja meningkatkan efisiensi pemisahan kontaminan. Tekanan 6 bar menghasilkan kualitas air terbaik dengan nilai TDS 19 mg/L, pH 7,2 dan kandungan ion serta mikroba di bawah ambang batas Permenkes No. 02/Menkes/Per/IV/2023. Penggunaan konfigurasi double membrane efektif dalam menurunkan kadar TDS dan logam berat. Tekanan kerja merupakan parameter penting dalam sistem RO, dan konfigurasi double membrane pada tekanan optimal mampu menghasilkan air minum yang aman, efisien, dan sesuai standar nasional.

Abstract

Serat kulit jagung (Zea Mays) merupakan material alam yang berpotensi digunakan sebagai bahan baku tekstil karena mengandung selulosa yang cukup tinggi. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengkaji pengaruh variasi konsentrasi larutan KOH dan durasi perendaman terhadap karakteristik serat kulit jagung. Proses ekstraksi serat dilakukan menggunakan alat dekortikator, dilanjutkan dengan perendaman dalam larutan KOH konsentrasi 4%, 5%, dan 6% selama 60 hingga 300 menit, serta tahap bleaching menggunakan H₂O₂. Analisis komponen kimia meliputi kadar selulosa, hemiselulosa, dan lignin menggunakan metode Chesson-Datta. Hasil terbaik diperoleh pada perlakuan dengan larutan KOH 6% selama 300 menit, yang menghasilkan serat dengan kandungan selulosa tertinggi sebesar 43,94%, lignin 12,39%, dan hemiselulosa 24,47%. Nilai kekuatan tarik maksimum mencapai 136 MPa dengan panjang serat rata-rata 14 cm. Penurunan signifikan kadar lignin dan hemiselulosa menunjukkan keberhasilan proses delignifikasi, sementara peningkatan kadar selulosa berkontribusi terhadap kekuatan mekanik serat. Hasil ini menunjukkan bahwa serat kulit jagung berpotensi sebagai bahan tekstil ramah lingkungan.

Abstract

By utilizing waste from Zn-C batteries, it is possible to produce ZnO semiconductor compounds from waste water laundry, which fall under the category of photocatalysts that can decompose harmful organic and inorganic compounds from waste laundry. The research method employed is coprecipitation, which involves synthesizing ZnO through a solution precipitation process, followed by mixing it with zeolite and testing the photocatalyst's activity with varying contact times of 30, 60, 90, and 120 minutes, as well as different weights of ZnO-Zeolite photocatalysts at 0.5, 0.75, and 1 gram. The characterization results of ZnO-Zeolite indicated a crystal size of 23.94 nm and a band gap energy of 2.98 eV. To evaluate the effectiveness of the ZnO-Zeolite photocatalyst, parameters such as pH, Chemical Oxygen Demand (COD), and the degradation of surfactant compounds in laundry waste were analyzed using UV-Vis Spectrophotometry. The findings revealed a decrease in pH from level of 9.18 to 7.25, and a reduction in COD from 269 mg/L to 64 mg/L, representing a percentage decrease of 76.21%. Additionally, the degradation of surfactant levels dropped from 2.817 mg/L to 0.035 mg/L, achieving a degradation percentage of 98.76% with a catalyst mass of 0.75 g and a contact time of 90 minutes.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the application of the Wafa method by providing rewards in learning tahfidz Al-Qur'an at SMP IT Insan Mandiri Cendekia Palembang. This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach with data collection techniques in the form of observation, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis is carried out through the stages of data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results of the study show that the Wafa method is applied through the Quantum Teaching model with the TANDUR (Grow, Natural, Natural, Demonstrate, Repeat, Celebrate) approach. The obstacles faced include the adaptation of new students who are not familiar with the Wafa method, limited parental involvement, inequality in teacher competence, lack of teacher training at the tasnif level, and not optimal time management. The results of the study show that the Wafa method has a positive impact on improving the quality of student memorization, especially in the memorization of Juz 30 and other juz. This method increases student motivation, discipline, and responsibility. Rewarding support and involvement of teachers and parents is essential. The Wafa method is worthy of being maintained and developed as an effective tahfidz learning strategy.

Abstract

Globalization brings rapid flows of information, technology, and culture, which significantly impact the character formation of the younger generation. This phenomenon requires Islamic education to adapt to global dynamics without neglecting the fundamental values of Islamic teachings. This study aims to conceptually examine the relationship between globalization and Islamic education in the context of developing Islamic character. A review of the literature indicates that globalization presents challenges in the form of shifting values, consumerism, individualism, and moral relativism, all of which have the potential to erode character values. On the other hand, Islamic education plays a strategic role through the strengthening of aqidah (faith), akhlak (morality), and adab (proper conduct), thereby shaping individuals who are resilient, have integrity, and are adaptive to change. The findings emphasize the importance of integrating contextual Islamic educational methods in line with global developments, utilizing technology wisely, and institutionalizing Islamic character values within both formal and non-formal curricula. This study provides a conceptual contribution for educators and policymakers in designing relevant and sustainable Islamic character education strategies in the era of globalization.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh variasi konsentrasi H₂SO₄ pada tahap hidrolisis kulit singkong serta menentukan kondisi yang paling efektif untuk menghasilkan glukosa sebagai substrat utama fermentasi bioetanol. Kulit singkong dipilih karena kandungan pati dan selulosanya yang tinggi serta ketersediaannya yang melimpah sebagai limbah agroindustri. Proses hidrolisis dilakukan dengan variasi konsentrasi H₂SO₄ (0,1 N; 0,3 N; 0,6 N; 0,8 N; dan 1 N), dilanjutkan tahap fermentasi menggunakan Saccharomyces cerevisiae dengan penambahan urea sebagai sumber nitrogen. Fermentasi dilakukan selama 3 dan 5 hari guna mengkaji pengaruh lama fermentasi terhadap akumulasi etanol. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa hidrolisis dengan konsentrasi H₂SO₄ 0,6 N menghasilkan kadar glukosa tertinggi sebesar 7,0 °Bx, yang berkontribusi pada pembentukan etanol maksimum sebesar 9,8% pada hari ketiga fermentasi. Setelah hari ketiga, kadar etanol menunjukkan kecenderungan menurun. Dengan demikian, konsentrasi H₂SO₄ 0,6 N dapat disimpulkan sebagai kondisi paling optimal untuk proses hidrolisis kulit singkong dalam mendukung produksi bioetanol.
