Abstract

AbstrakPenanaman bibit kakao pada tanah inceptisol memiliki beberapa kendala, salah satunya adalah bahan organik rendah. Peningkatan pertumbuhan tanaman kakao pada awal tanam dapat dilakukan dengan pemberian bahan organik. Saat ini terdapat bahan organik berbentuk cair, namun pengaruhnya terhadap kakao belum menghasilkan belum diketahui, karena pada umumnya bahan organik yang digunakan pada tanaman kakao berbentuk padat. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk melihat pengaruh bahan organik berbeda (asam humat dan pupuk kotoran sapi) terhadap kesuburan tanah, pertumbuhan, dan fisiologi tanaman kakao belum menghasilkan. Percobaan dilakukan pada bulan Januari sampai Desember 2017 di kebun percobaan Fakultas Pertanian, Universitas Padjadjaran, Jatinangor. Rancangan percobaan yang digunakan adalah  Rancangan Acak Kelompok (RAK) dengan 9 perlakuan dan 3 (tiga) ulangan.  Perlakuan yang diaplikasikan adalah dosis asam humat per tanaman (0 mL, 5 mL, 10 mL, 15 mL, dan 20 mL) serta dosis pupuk kotoran sapi per tanaman (0 kg, 5 kg, 10 kg, 15 kg, dan 20 kg). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kedua jenis bahan organik cenderung meningkatkan kapasitas tukar kation dan kandungan C-organik, tetapi tidak berpengaruh terhadap pH tanah. Bahan organik padat maupun cair tidak memberikan pengaruh terhadap pertambahan tinggi tanaman, pertambahan diameter batang, dan indeks klorofil pada tanaman kakao belum menghasilkan, namun  pupuk kotoran sapi 10 kg per tanaman yang diberikan pada awal pertumbuhan tanaman memberikan pertambahan jumlah daun terbaik.Kata kunci: Asam humat ∙ Kakao ∙ Kotoran sapi ∙ Tanaman belum menghasilkan  AbstractPlanting cacao seedlings on inceptisol face several problems, one of them is low organic matter content. The application of organic materials can be used to increase cocoa plant growth at early planting stage. Recently, new formulation of organic fertilizer, i.e., liquid organic fertilization, has been produced, but its effects on immature cocoa plants growth have not been clearly identified, because the organic matter applied in cocoa plants is usually the solid ones. The objectives of this experiment was to investigate the effect of different organic matter  (humic acid and solid cow manure) on soil fertility, the growth and physiology of immature cocoa plants. The experiment was conducted from January to December 2017 in the experimental field of the Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas Padjadjaran, Jatinangor. Randomized Block Design was performed in this experiment with 9 treatments and 3 replications.  Applied treatments were doses of humic acid per plant (0 mL, 5 mL, 10 mL, 15 mL and 20 mL) and doses of cow manure per plant (0 kg, 5 kg, 10 kg, 15 kg and 20 kg). The results showed that both organic matters tended to cation exchange capacity and C-organic conten, but did not affect the soil pH. Both organic matters did not significantly affect the increase of plant height, the increase of stem diameter, and chlorophyll index of immature cocoa plants, but 10 kg of solid cow dung per plant given at the beginning of plant growth gave the highest number of leaves produced.Keywords : Humic acid ∙ Cocoa ∙ Cow manure ∙ Immature plant

Abstract

Robusta coffee production can be sucessed by using high-quality seedlings that have good growth performance. One of several keys to success in seedling production is the choosing best planting medium and providing exogenous growth regulators. These include using cocopeat planting media and giving coconut water. This research aims to determine whether using cocopeat planting media and providing coconut water can increase the growth of robusta coffee seedlings. The experiment used a randomized complete group design with six treatments and four replications; each experimental unit consisted of three robusta coffee seedlings. The six tested treatments were control (topsoil 100%); cocopeat 50% + topsoil 50%; cocopeat 100%; topsoil 100% + coconut water 200 mL; cocopeat 50% + topsoil 50% + coconut water 200 mL; and cocopeat 100% + coconut water 200 mL. This study indicated that cocopeat and coconut water could increase the growth of robusta coffee seedlings. The composition of cocopeat 100% and the combination of topsoil 50% + cocopeat 50% had an improvement effect on the growth of robusta coffee seedlings.

Abstract

Secang (Caesalpinia sappan L.) merupakan salah satu tanaman obat yang ada di Indonesia.  Bagian tanaman secang yang dimanfaatkan adalah empulur yang ada pada batang.  Saat panen secang, batang ditebang, sehingga diperlukan replanting.  Replanting membutuhkan bibit yang baik, untuk meningkatkan pertumbuhan maka dapat diaplikasikan zat pengatur tumbuh (ZPT) saat di pembibitan. Sitokinin dan Giberelin adalah ZPT yang berperan aktif dalam pembelahan sel sehingga dapat meningkatkan pertumbuhan.  Akar adalah salah satu organ utama tanaman, apabila pertumbuhan akar baik maka pertumbuhan bagian atas tanaman (batang dan daun) akan baik pula.  Kisaran ketinggian tempat tumbuh secang, mulai dari dataran rendah hingga dataran tinggi.  Perbedaan suhu akibat perbedaan ketinggian tempat akan berpengaruh pada pertumbuhan bibit secang. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh pemberian sitokinin dan giberelin terhadap pertumbuhan akar bibit secang. Percobaan dilakukan di kebun percobaan Kec. Kawalu pada ketinggian 317 meter di atas permukaan laut, pada bulan Juni sampai Oktober 2022. Rancangan percobaan yang digunakan adalah Rancangan Acak Kelompok (RAK) dengan perlakuan konsentrasi sitokinin, giberelin dan kombinasi keduanya. Satu perlakuan terdiri dari 7 bibit dan diulang tiga kali,  Hasil percobaan menunjukkan terdapat respons panjang akar terhadap aplikasi ZPT sitokinin dan giberelin, sedangkan respons volume akar dan bobot kering akar terhadap ZPT adalah tidak berbeda.Kata kunci : Bibit, Giberelin, Sitokinin, Secang

Abstract

Vanilla plant propagation is usually done by cutting. Vanilla cuttings that are grown are expected to develop optimally into seeds which will eventually produce well. The thing that needs to be considered to support the growth of vanilla cuttings at a later stage is the adequacy of the supply of nutrients and growth determinants or PGR. Rabbit urine is a natural substance that contains certain nutrients and PGR which can be added to support the growth and development of vanilla cuttings. This experiment aims to examine the effect of rabbit urine on the growth of vanilla cuttings. The experiment was conducted at the Office of the Sindanglaya Plantation Seeding Center, Bandung, West Java from August to November 2022. The experimental method was experimental using a completely randomized design with treatment without rabbit urine and rabbit urine with concentrations of 5%, 10% 15%, 20% respectively. Each treatment was repeated five times. The experimental results showed that administration of 15% concentration of rabbit urine produced the best growth in the parameters of the number of roots, number of leaves and shoot length of vanilla cuttings up to the age of 14 WAP

Abstract

Excessive use of inorganic fertilizers in oil palm nurseries can be minimized by using liquid organic ingredients. The use of liquid organic ingredients (LOI) from banana peels and rice washing water aimed to determine and study its effect on the growth of oil palm seedlings in pre-nursery. The experiment was carried out at the Ciparanje Experimental Garden, Faculty of Agriculture, Padjadjaran University, in February - May 2022. The experiment used a randomized block design (RBD) with nine treatment combinations and was repeated three times, each treatment consisting of two seeds. The treatments tested were control without the addition of liquid organic ingredients from banana peels and rice washing water, as well as a combination of various doses of LOI from banana peels and rice washing water. The experimental results showed that the LOI and rice washing water given only had a significant effect on the leaf area of oil palm seedlings at 1 MAT and leaf chlorophyll content at 3 MAT. However, it was seen that giving 25 mL LOI from banana peel/L water/plant combined with 250 mL of rice washing water has a good influence on the growth of oil palm seedlings in the pre-nursery.

Abstract

The growth of immature Cinchona ledgeriana can be optimized by applying fertilizers to fill the nutritional needs of plants. Nutrients can be provided through the help of microorganisms derived from organic fertilizers and biofertilizers. This study aims to evaluate the effect of applying coffee husk compost and biofertilizer consortium on the growth of immature quinine plants. This research was conducted from November 2023 – January 2024 at Gambung Tea and Cinchona Research Center, Pasir Jambu District, Bandung Regency, West Java. The research used a randomized block design with four replications and six treatments, namely control (Urea 17 g.plant-1 + SP36 8 g.plant-1 + KCl 4 g.plant-1); solid coffee husk compost 3 kg.plant-1; liquid coffee husk compost 80 mL.L-1; biofertilizer 10 mL.L-1; solid coffee husk compost 3 kg.plants-1 + biofertilizer 10 mL.L-1; and liquid coffee husk compost 80 mL.L-1 + biofertilizer 10 mL.L-1. The results showed applying organic fertilizer from coffee husk waste and biofertilizer improved the growth of immature quinine plants. Combination of liquid organic fertilizer from coffee husk waste 80 mL.L-1 water + biofertilizer 10 mL.L-1 water produced a high increase in leaf area. Combination of solid organic fertilizer from coffee husk waste 3 kg. plants-1 + biofertilizer 10 mL.L-1 water showed the highest plant height increment. It implied the success of quinine improvement growth at the immature phase by applying coffee husk waste and biofertilizers.

Abstract

Penggunaan pupuk anorganik yang berlebihan dapat dikurangi dengan memanfaatkan bahan organik cair. Dalam percobaan ini, bahan organik cair yang berasal dari kulit buah pisang dan air cucian beras digunakan untuk diketahui dampaknya terhadap pertumbuhan bibit kelapa sawit di pre-nursery. Eksperimen dilaksanakan di Kebun Percobaan Ciparanje, Fakultas Pertanian, Universitas Padjadjaran, selama rentang waktu dari bulan Februari hingga Mei 2022. Metode yang digunakan dalam percobaanini adalah rancangan acak kelompok dengan sembilan variasi perlakuan yang diulang tiga kali. Tiap perlakuan terdiri dari dua tanaman. Variasi perlakuan mencakup penggunaan 23 gram pupuk anorganik; 50 mL/L/tanaman BOC dari kulit pisang; 500 mL air cucian beras; 25 mL/L/tanaman BOC dari kulitpisang dan 250 mL air cucian beras; 25 mL/L/tanaman BOC dari kulit pisang dan 500 mL air cucian beras; 50 mL/L/tanaman BOC dari kulit pisang dan 250 mL air cucian beras; 50 mL/L/tanaman BOC dari kulit pisang dan 500 mL air cucian beras; 75 mL/L/tanaman BOC dari kulit pisang dan 250 mL air cucian beras; serta 75 mL/L/tanaman BOC dari kulit pisang dan 500 mL air cucian beras. Hasil percobaan menunjukkan bahwa kulit pisang dapat dimanfaatkan sebagai bahan organik cair yangdiberikan sebagai pupuk untuk mendukung pertumbuhan bibit kelapa sawit tahap pre-nursery. Salah satu cara pemberiannya adalah dengan dikombinasikan dengan air cucian beras. Pemberian air cucian beras sebanyak 500 mL untuk setiap bibit kelapa sawit berpengaruh baik terhadap bobot kering akar,tajuk dan tanaman serta persentase peningkatannya. Sebagai upaya pemanfaatan kulit pisang, pemberian BOC kulit pisang 75 mL/L/tanaman + 500 mL/tanaman air cucian beras berpengaruh baik terhadap bobot kering akar, tajuk dan tanaman serta persentase peningkatannya pada 3 BSP.Kata kunci: bibit kelapa sawit, pre-nursery, kulit pisang, air cucian beras

Abstract

Fruits with various benefits include papaya. The price of papaya fruit is relatively affordable, making it possible to make it a fruit that is popular with all levels of Indonesian society. One type of papaya is California papaya which has several advantages compared to other types, namely the taste is sweeter, the fruit is not too large, the fruit skin is shiny with thick and chewy flesh. This makes it important to introduce California papaya to the people of Cinanjung Village, Tanjungsari District, Sumedang Regency. Apart from the climatic conditions in the Cinanjung Village area which is suitable for planting papaya plants, it is also supported by the social conditions of the community where most of them work in the agricultural sector.This activity aims to encourage people to plant California papaya using good cultivation methods so that the results can be enjoyed by the people in the village. This activity is expected to motivate the people of Cinanjung Village to like local fruit and seriously cultivate it, which in the end can be used as a source of income. The methods used include location surveys, counseling (presentation of material, filling out questionnaires on participants' level of knowledge), distribution of California papaya seeds, and assistance with papaya cultivation techniques. The result of this activity is that the community obtains additional information regarding how to carry out California papaya cultivation techniques and apply these techniques to their cultivation activities.

Abstract

Ruangan terbuka yang tersedia pada fase tanaman menghasilkan dapat dimanfaatkan untuk meningkatkan produktivitas lahan melalui pola tanam tumpangsari salah satunya dengan tanaman jagung. Tanah Inceptisol memiliki kesuburan kimia yang rendah khususnya kandungan P, salah satu upaya untuk meningkatkan kesuburan kimia yaitu dengan mengaplikasikan pupuk hayati seperti bakteri pelarut fosfat (BPF). Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui dan mengkaji pengaruh BPF dan berbagai dosis pupuk P dalam upaya meningkatkan pertumbuhan dan hasil tanaman jagung pada pertanaman kelapa sawit fase tanaman menghasilkan 1. Percobaan ini dilaksanakan di Kebun Percobaan Ciparanje, Fakultas Pertanian, Universitas Padjadjaran pada bulan Januari sampai April 2023. Percobaan dilakukan dengan metode rancangan acak kelompok (RAK) yang terdiri dari tujuh perlakuan dan diulang empat kali. Perlakuan terdiri dari 100% dosis SP-36, 50 kg/ha BPF + 25% dosis SP-36, 50 kg/ha BPF + 50% dosis SP-36, 50 kg/ha BPF + 75% dosis SP-36, 75 kg/ha BPF + 25% dosis SP-36, 75 kg/ha BPF + 50% dosis SP-36, 75 kg/ha BPF + 75% dosis SP-36. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa, pemberian BPF dan pupuk P berpengaruh terhadap tinggi tanaman, diameter batang, panjang tongkol, diameter tongkol, bobot pipilan kering 100 biji, bobot per tanaman, bobot per petak, dan bobot per hektar. Dosis 50 kg/ha BPF dan 25% pupuk P merupakan dosis yang paling efisien dan penggunaan BPF dapat mengurangi kebutuhan pupuk P hingga 75%.

Abstract

Sugar palm (Arenga pinnata Merr.) is an essential crop in Indonesia, valued for its sap used to produce sugar, alcohol, and biofuel. However, its long maturation period of 7-12 years requires optimal cultivation practices, including effective fertilization, to enhance productivity. This study aimed to evaluate the effects of inorganic fertilizers on the growth of sugar palm during the immature phase. The experiment was conducted at Ciparanje Experimental Field, Universitas Padjadjaran, using a randomized block design (RBD) with six treatments and four replications: the recommended dose of compound fertilizer, 75% and 50% of the recommended dose of compound fertilizer, the recommended dose of single fertilizer, and 75% and 50% of the recommended dose of single fertilizer. Observed variables included plant height, stem diameter, number of leaves, leaf area, canopy area, and chlorophyll content. Results showed that the application of single fertilizer at the recommended dose produced the best outcomes for all observed variables, particularly leaf number, leaf area, plant height, and chlorophyll content. High chlorophyll content was strongly correlated with optimal nitrogen fertilization, supporting enhanced photosynthesis. This study highlights the importance of selecting the appropriate type and dosage of fertilizer to improve sugar palm cultivation efficiency and provides valuable insights for optimizing practices during the immature phase.
