Abstract

It is believed that students’ critical listening ability can be improved through proper listening strategy performance. This action research (Fraenkel & Wallen, 2007) was conducted in line with the assumption that students of Indonesia Literature and Language Education, Bengkulu University and Bengkulu Muhammadiyah University could reach proficient level provided that they were taught properly. The goal of this research was to reveal listening strategy performance related to students’ critical listening ability. The result of the research showed that the relationship between listening strategy performance and critical listening ability of students tended to be directly proportional in which high students’ listening strategy performance tended to be followed by high critical listening ability and vise versa. Students’ listening strategy performance in improving students’ critical listening ability was able to (1) effective activities, students create active, effective, and creative learning process independently in measuring and developing in each step of listening learning model, (2) enough listening learning media can improve students’ critical listening skill (3) critical listening strategy performance can increase students’ critical listening ability. Copyright © 2015 by Al-Talim All right reserved

Abstract

AbstrakPengembangan Pembelajaran Keterampilan menyimak melalui Teknologi Informasi. Keterampilan menyimak saat ini bagi sebagian guru lebih pada kemampuan menyimak bukan pada menyimak sebagai suatu proses dan mekanika sehingga diperlukan keterampilan dalam meramu teknolgi sebagai media pembelajaran yang apik. Padahal dukungan teknologi dapat digunakan untuk membantu siswa mengembangkan keterampilan menyimak mereka melalui radio, kaset audio, televisi, video, dan komputer atau media internet dengan berbagai laman yang ada. Setiap jenis teknologi memberikan peluang bagi siswa untuk mengeksplorasi strategi menyimak mereka dan beberapa kasus mengembangkan strategi baru. Dalam kelas bahasa, siswa memiliki akses ke beberapa bentuk teknologi, apakah itu radio transistor kecil atau multimedia interaktif. Hal ini memungkinkan akses yang lebih luas untuk lebih menekankan aspek model tertentu, seperti lintas-budaya, interaksional, menyimak kritis, dan dimensi kontekstual dalam menyimak untuk dikembangkan. Guru berperan membantu siswa mengembangkan keterampilan menyimak yang lebih baik dan mengeksploitasi teknologi lama atau teknologi baru dalam berbagai cara agar dapat memenuhi kebutuhan siswa dalam menyikapi suatu perubahan dan perkembangan teknologi pembelajaran menyimak.Kata kunci: Pembelajaran keterampilan menyimak;       strategi menyimak; teknologi informasi; multimedia interaktif AbstractDeveloping Listening Skill‘s Learning Through Information Technology.    Listening skill for some teachers is more in listening ability rather than listening as a process and mechanic so that it needs skill in designing technology as an interesting learning media. Whereas technology can be used to help the students in developing their listening skill through radio, cassete audio, television, video, and computer or internet media with providing many websites. Each kind of technology gives chance for the students to explore their listening strategy and some cases in developing new strategy. In language class, the students have access to some forms technology whether it is small transistor radio or multimedia interactive.  It may give broader access to emphasize certain aspect model such as cross culture, interactional, critical, and contextual dimension in listening skill. Together with technology development, the role of the teacher in helping the students in developing listening skill is changed. Besides, language teacher in exploitation old technology and new technology can fullfill the students’ need in anticipation for changing and development of technology. Abstract

The low literacy culture of the Indonesian people currently affects the low interest in reading and writing in the community. This service activity aims to describe and reveal the data of the illiterate community and their tendency to read and write, train the public in reading and writing to the community so that they can grow their interest in reading and writing, compiling literacy into an anthology of folklore and poetry both in print and through the media. online, as well as describing responses to reflections on activities that have been carried out to provide input and action on the literacy village activity model that has been carried out. The method of service is the descriptive qualitative Tabari Unib with the APTE Model (Needs Analysis, Training, Action, and Evaluation). Community service through the Taman Bacan Rindu Hati (Tabari) Unib tends to have good interest in reading and writing but is still lacking in availability and activities. that happened. Likewise with the illiteracy of only 0.5% who are still illiterate and even then in the elderly community. For this reason, in growing interest in reading and writing, the APTE model (Needs Analysis, Training, Action, and Evaluation) is carried out so as to foster interest in reading and writing in the Rindu Hati community. The outputs of this training are that the literary works called the Antologi Sastra Rindu Hati (Asri) Unib in the form of folklore, poetry, and the origins of the names of places or villages as many as 94 works with ISBN, Tabari Unib at Rumah Gadang and Tabari Unib online. Based on this service activity, this activity is very well carried out so that it has an impact on increasing the reading and writing culture of the Rindu Hati community with the Tabari Unib.

Abstract

Kurangnya minat guru dalam menulis sastra berdampak pada rendahnya kemampuan menulis siswa. Kegiatan pengabdian ini bertujuan menumbuhkan minat dan kemampuan guru bahasa Indonesia dalam menulis puisi dengan tema “Pesona Bengkulu” melalui kegiatan pelatihan secara luring dan daring berbasis teknologi Xmind dan Whitboard.Fi. Adapun metode pengabdian, yaitu deskriptif kualitatif dengan Model APTE (Analisis kebutuhan, Pelatihan, Tindakan, dan Evaluasi). Pengabdian kepada masyarakat mampu meningkatkan kemampuan, kreatifitas, dan produktivitas cipta puisi bagi guru bahasa Indonesia di Provinsi Bengkulu. Peningkatan tersebut terlihat dari kemampuan pemahaman menulis puisi guru menjadi sangat baik (rata-rata 82) dan kemampuan menulis puisi menjadi baik (rata-rata 73.15). Kegiatan berdampak kepada budaya literasi baca dan tulis karya sastra di sekolah.

Abstract

This study aims to develop English language teaching materials based on the Project-Based Learning (PBL) learning model for English for Tourism course. This study used a research and development (R&D) with the ADDIE model whose stages consist of analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. Participants in this study were 5th semester students majoring in English Language Education at one of the state Islamic universities in Bengkulu. Data collection techniques used observation, interviews, and questionnaires. The prototype of the development of teaching materials was validated by experts in content, language and design. Then, the teaching materials were tested on individual, small group, and large group. The results of the validation of teaching materials had an overall average value of 81.9%. Meanwhile, the overall trial of teaching materials found a value of 78%. Then, the results of interviews and project assessments showed that the developed teaching materials increased student motivation and competence in learning. The conclusion is that the development of teaching materials based on Project-Based Learning is qualified as good and suitable to use in the classroom learning process.

Abstract

AbstrakPenelitian ini dilatarbelakangi dengan terbatasnya LKPD teks editorial berbasis pedagogi genre dan LKPD yang ada baru sebatas LKPD berbasis teks. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengembangkan produk bahan ajar berupa LKPD (Lembar Kerja Peserta Didik) teks editorial berbasis pedagogi genre yang berpedoman pada kurikulum 2013. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian dan pengembangan (Research and development) atau R&D, dengan mengadaptasi model pengembangan ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Development, implementation, and Evaluation), namun dalam penelitian ini dilakukan dalam tiga tahap, yaitu analisis kebutuhan, pengembangan, dan uji validasi. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan berupa angket, dengan instrumen penelitiannya yaitu lembar penilaian bahan ajar, lembar analisis kebutuhan bahan ajar guru, Lembar validasi ahli, dan Lembar respon peserta didik. Hasil dari penelitian yang dilaksanakan oleh penulis yaitu menghasilkan suatu produk bahan ajar berupa LKPD teks editorial yang layak digunakan, hal tersebut dibuktikan pada (1) Bahan ajar yang digunakan guru berkriteria cukup dengan skor 59 dan 56. Kemudian pada tahapan analisis kebutuhan guru mengharapkan bahan ajar yang sistematis dan praktis untuk dikembangkan, (2) Bahan ajar didesain sangat maksimal oleh penulis, (3) Pengembangan LKPD melalui empat tahapan yaitu menentukan KI dan KD, Mendesain sampul, Membuat kerangka LKPD, dan merealisasikan kerangka kedalam bentuk LKPD,  (4) Produk LKPD berkategori sangat valid dengan skor 98,4 dan sangat praktis dengan skor 86.Kata Kunci: Pengembangan LKPD, Teks Editorial, Pedagogi Genre.AbstractThis research is motivated by the limited of editorial text LKPDs based on genre pedagogy and the existing LKPDs are only text-based LKPDs. This study aims to develop a teaching material product in the form of LKPD (Student Worksheet) editorial text based on genre pedagogy guided by the 2013 curriculum.The type of research used is research and development (Research and development) or R&D, by adapting the ADDIE development model (Analysis, Design, Development, implementation, and Evaluation), but in this research it was carried out in three stages, namely needs analysis, development, and validation testing. The data collection technique used was in the form of a questionnaire, with the research instruments, namely the assessment sheet for teaching materials, the needs analysis sheet for the teacher's teaching materials, the expert validation sheet, and the student response sheet. The results of the research carried out by the author are to produce a product of teaching materials in the form of LKPD editorial texts that are suitable for use, this is evidenced in (1) The teaching materials used by teachers have sufficient criteria with scores of 59 and 56, Then at the stage of needs analysis the teacher expects teaching materials which is systematic and practical to be developed, (2) the teaching materials are designed very maximally by the author, (3) the development of the LKPD goes through four stages, namely determining KI and KD, designing the cover, making the LKPD framework, and realizing the framework into the form of LKPD, (4) product LKPD is categorized as very valid with a score of 98.4 and very practical with a score of 86.Keywords: LKPD Development, Editorial Text, Genre Pedagogy.

Abstract

Abstrak Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan keaktifan belajar bahasa Indonesia siswa dengan menerapkan metode pembelajaran demonstrasi. Subjek penelitian adalah siswa kelas X MIPA E SMA Negeri 2 Kota Bengkulu dengan jumlah 36 orang. Jenis penelitian yang dilakukan adalah penelitian tindakan kelas (PTK) yang dilaksanakan dalam dua siklus. Setiap siklus terdiri dari dari empat tahap, yaitu (1) perencanaan; (2) pelaksanaan; (3) observasi; dan (4) refleksi. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan teknik observasi dan wawancara dengan lembar observasi keaktifan siswa dan lembar respons siswa. Data penelitian diolah dengan teknik kuantitatif. Analisis data dilakukan dengan metode kualitatif dan teknik analisis kritis. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya peningkatan keaktifan belajar siswa dengan penerapan metode demonstrasi yang memeprhatikan beberapa aspek pendukung (1) pemilihan bahan ajar dengan mempertimbangkan minat belajar siswa; dan (2) penggunaan media pembelajaran berbasis teknologi. Adanya peningkatan keaktifan belajar siswa pada setiap siklusnya, (1) prasiklus nilai 1,7 dalam kategori cukup aktif; (2) siklus I nilai 3,13 dalam kategori aktif; dan (3) siklus II nilai 3, 62 dalam kategori sangat aktif.

Abstract

The research methodology section in a journal article is one of the most important things in determining the accuracy of the results of the research conducted by the author. However, in reality it is different from the scientific study that is written, the stages will be different in the journal article in which the article is published. The purpose of this study is to find the rhetorical style of the research methodology section in accredited social and humanitarian national journals by not discussing the linguistic aspects in it. This study used descriptive qualitative method. The data collection techniques are grouping knowledge based on sinta accreditation, analyzing the data, determining proportional journal articles, and determining journal articles. Data analysis techniques, namely journal articles that have been determined to be tabulated in the methodology section, transcribe the contents of the research methodology section, tabulate based on linguistic stages and aspects, interpret, and draw conclusions. Validity is done by checking with a team of three experts. This study describes the rhetorical style of the research methodology section of an accredited national journal in the social and humanitarian field by not discussing the linguistic aspects in it. The results of the study indicate that working in the social and humanities fields accredited journal articles in the research methodology section in the social and humanities field are. move the research method which contains a research component method, the research subject section has a research object section, the research procedure section contains component procedures, and the analysis section contains a data analysis component. The linguistic features contained in the methodology section in this study, namely, are, and, namely, with, in, as well as, for, because, and so. This linguistic feature shows that the methodology section of this study presents explanatory and argumentative sentences using complex sentences, both equivalent compound sentences and mixed compound sentences.

Abstract

Each writing has its own rhetorical style or characteristics in its description, as well as in the writing on the methodology section of research journal article (AJP) in the field of sociology. This study examines the rhetorical style in the stages (moves) in 23 articles from two research journals in sociology, namely the Journal of Sociology of Society an the Journal of Social Religion. This research methodology uses a qualitative approach with a descriptive method. This research was conducted in Bengkulu, in November – Desember 2021. The data collection technique was using observation techniques. The purpose of this study is to describe the result of the study or rhetorical style on the aspects of the stage (move) in research juournal articles in the field of sociology. The result showed that the most dominant stage used in research journal articles in the field of sociology were Stage 1 (Introduction to the study), Stage 2 (Research subject) and Satge 3 (Research procedur). In research journal articles in the field of sociology is that they predominantly use data collection techniques in the form of observations, interviews, and documentation.

Abstract

Guru bahasa Indonesia tingkat SMA Kota Bengkulu di era 5.0 dituntut selain mampu melaksanakan tugas dalam mengajar dengan menggunakan teknologi informasi dan komunikasi, juga harus mampu melaksanakan pengembangan keprofesian berkelanjutan (PKB). Salah satu kemampuan PKB guru Bahasa Indonesia yang perlu ditingkatkan yaitu dalam hal publikasi ilmiah. Publikasi ilmiah ini tujuannya untuk meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis guru yang akan berdampak pada kemampuan mengajar yang profesional. Salah satu cara untuk meningkatkan publikasi ilmiah guru bahasa Indonesia yaitu memberikan pelatihan penulisan esai bagi guru bahasa Indonesia dalam menanamkan keterampilan berpikir kritis di Kota Bengkulu melalui Strategi Question-Answer Relationship (QAR). Tujuan dari pelatihan ini agar guru bahasa Indonesia mampu menulis esai dan tulisan ilmiah esainya dapat dipublikasi dalam bentuk buku kumpulan esai ber-ISBN yang dapat dijadikan salah satu persyaratan kenaikan pangkat. Pelatihan ini menggunakan strategi QAR dengan teknik diskusi, ceramah, dan praktik membuat esai. Peserta dalam kegiatan ini adalah guru Bahasa Indonesia tingkat SMA sederajat di Kota Bengkulu. Hasil dari pelatihan ini yaitu guru bahasa Indonesia mampu menulis esai dibuktikan dengan produk kumpulan esai ber-ISBN disusun oleh para guru dengan judul Praktik Baik Guru Bahasa Indonesia dalam Mengajar, video pelatihan yang bisa diakses pada Youtube https://youtu.be/D_KxinOvPS0?si=vo6JCN_oryuY9_Oo, dan publikasi artikel hasil pelatihan pada jurnal Sinta 4 yaitu Jurnal Inovasi Pengabdian Masyarakat Pendidikan.
