Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini yaitu menganalisis kemampuan pemecahan masalah siswa untuk menyelesaikan soal materi persamaan kuadrat berdasarkan serta menganalisis aktivitas pembelajaran matematika siswa SMK negeri 1 Perbaungan dengan model Problem Based Learning. Subjek pada penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas XTKJ-3 SMK Negeri 1 Perbaungan. Objek pada penelitian ini ialah tentang analisis kemampuan pemecahan masalah serta aktivitas pembelajaranr matematika dengan model Problem Based Learning di SMK Negeri 1 Perbaungan. Penelitian ini menggunakan tes pada materi Persamaan Kuadrat sebanyak 3 soal essay dan lembar observasi. Hasil yang diperoleh pada penelitian ini yaitu kemampuan siswa dalam memahami masalah, merencanakan penyelesaian, melaksanakan rencana penyelesaian serta mengecek kembali seluruh langkah tergolong kurang baik dengan persentase 48%. Disebabkan (1) siswa kurang teliti dalam menuliskan pertanda negatif pada penyelesaiannya (2) siswa kurang teliti dalam menggunakan rumus serta mengaplikasikan ke soal yang lain. aktivitas belajar siswa terlibat aktif pada memecahkan masalah yang di berikan oleh guru, peserta didik berperan aktif dalam mengemukakan pendapat penyelesaian atau merencanakan suatu permasalahan yang ada.

Abstract

Penelitian pengembangan lembar kerja siswa berbasis masalah bertujuan (1) untuk mengetahui kevalidan dan kelayakan sebagai lembar kerja siswa berbasis masalah pada materi teorema Pythagoras, (2) untuk mengetahuin respon siswa mengenai pembelajaran yang menggunakan lembar kerja siswa berbasis masalah. Jenis penelitian ini yaitu pengembangan yang mengacu pada model pengembangan Borg and Gall. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di MTs Swasta Citra Amanah sebanyak 2 pertemuan. Instrument yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah angket lembar validasi ahli untuk mengetahui bagaimana kevalidan dan kelayakan lembar kerja siswa berbasis masalah, lembar angket respon siswa digunakan untuk mengetahui seberapa besar respon siswa terhadap lembar kerja siswa terhadap lembar kerja siswa yang dikembangkan. Hasil analisis data yaitu (1) hasil validasi dan kelayakan lembar kerja siswa berbasis masalah dari 3 validator yang diperoleh rata-rata 91,25 % dengan katagori valid dan layak digunakan, (2) hasil lembar angket respon siswa dengan skor rata-rata 83,27% dengan katagori sangat baik. Maka dapat disimpulkan bahwa lembar kerja siswa berbasis masalah yang dikembangkan dalam penelitian ini berkualitas baik dan layak digunakan.

Abstract

Fourier series has the ability to decompose a periodic function into a collection of sine and cosine wave sums. Another way to express a function into an infinite series is with the Maclaurin series or Taylor series but both of these series require that the function must have the first derivative, the second derivative and so on of the function is defined at its expansion point and there must be no discontinuity value at that point. However, the advantage of the Fourier series is that we can decompose the function into an infinite series containing the sum of sine and cosine terms even though the function cannot be differentiated and has discontinuity at some points. The Fourier series equation of an analytical function is obtained by first finding the values ​​of the Fourier coefficients using analytical integrals. In the case of functions formed from numerical data that are assumed to have a periodic pattern, the Fourier series formula that uses analytical integrals to find its Fourier coefficients can no longer be used so that the numerical approach using the Trapezium method is an alternative that allows us to find the Fourier series equation for a periodic function expressed numerically. We use 12 points as the basis for the calculation in the Trapezium method to approximate the Fourier series numerically. This paper presents a numerical approach to solve the problem.

Abstract

The The ability to understand concepts is the ability to understand and account for an idea as well as the ability to think logically, critically, creatively and innovatively. The research objective of this study is to look at the profile of the ability to understand concepts through PjBL learning in terms of students' learning styles in understanding mathematical concepts in class VIII-A statistics material at MTs Al-Mahrus Mabar. The method used in the research is descriptive qualitative research. The research location is Jalan RPH LINK.IV Mabar Hilir Medan and the research time was carried out in the 2023/2024 academic year. The research subjects were 6 students from 22 students, where the researcher chose 2 students each with visual, auditory and kinesthetic learning styles based on the student learning style questionnaire that had been given. The researcher's data collection method used four techniques, namely observation, interviews, questionnaires and concept understanding ability tests. Data analysis is carried out by reducing data, presenting it, and drawing conclusions. The research results show that students with kinesthetic learning styles understand mathematical concepts better than students with visual and auditory learning styles. Students with a kinesthetic learning style are able to understand three of the four indicators of conceptual understanding, while students with a visual style, the same as students with an auditory learning style, are only able to understand two of the four indicators of conceptual understanding.

Abstract

Mathematical connection skills and learning independence remain challenges in the formal education system, particularly among students who rely heavily on procedural memorization rather than deep conceptual understanding. This situation underscores the necessity of developing learning strategies that promote critical thinking awareness and reflection. One such strategy is the application of metacognitive techniques. This study seeks to assess the impact of metacognitive strategies on the development of mathematical connection skills and learning independence among eighth-grade students enrolled in the mathematics department at Al Washliyah Hamparan Perak Private Middle School. Employing a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental pretest-posttest control group design, the study sample comprises two classes: an experimental group that receives instruction utilizing metacognitive strategies and a control group that receives conventional instruction. The analysis of the data revealed a substantial positive impact of metacognitive strategies on both mathematical connection skills and learning independence. Specifically, the experimental group demonstrated a significant improvement in mathematical connection skills (significance 0.000 < 0.05) and learning independence (significance 0.001 < 0.05). The average gain score for mathematical connections was 0.54735 for the experimental group and 0.28264 for the control group. Similarly, the average gain score for learning independence was 0.39870 for the experimental group and 0.19518 for the control group. Consequently, metacognitive strategies have been demonstrated to be an effective tool for enhancing both mathematical connection skills and learning independence. Their implementation in the formal education system is crucial in fostering critical thinking, self-awareness, and independent learning among students.
