Abstract

The nation's generation is a pillar or pillar of the country's future development. Ensuring the education of the nation's generation means seeking superior seed breeding for future development. Early childhood or Kindergarten age is an age group that in terms of education is easy to form. Early age is a golden age, where at this time children's brain development develops very rapidly. This period is also critical in the development of children. This event occurs once in a human's lifetime. Therefore, at this time children must be stimulated so that their development becomes optimal, for the sake of their future. One of the ways to provide stimulation is through education. The importance of children's education from an early age is also based on Law no. 20 of 2003 concerning the National Education System, which states that early childhood education is one of the coaching efforts aimed at children from birth to 6 years which is carried out through the provision of educational stimuli to help physical and spiritual growth and development so that children have readiness in entering further education level (Article 1 point 14). With the education of national insight, it is hoped that later the children will grow into generations of nations who love their country and homeland. On the other hand, if children are not equipped with strong national insight values, in the future they will be very vulnerable to being "colonized" by various external factors.

This research method uses a sampling method of Dewi Sri Farmer Group members. Determination of the number of samples, as many as 29 people from a total population of 40 people, is calculated by the Slovin method with an error rate of 10%. The results showed that (1) the R/C ratio of rice farming of the Dewi Sri Farmers Group was 1.7, meaning that the farming was feasible, (2) the BEP of the rice farming revenue of the Dewi Sri Farmers Group was Rp. 3,850,040 and less than the income, meaning that farming was feasible. Carried out, (3) BEP production of rice farming of the Dewi Sri Farmers Group is 1,042.7 kg and less than the total production means that the farming is feasible to run, (4) BEP of the price of rice farming of the Dewi Sri Farmers Group is Rp. 3,056, and less than the product's price means the business is worth running.

Abstract

The opportunity cost for sugar cane farmers is the choice of cultivating sugar cane as a farming activity to support their livelihoods. Farming of other crops is not chosen, rejected, sacrificed. as opportunity costs. Farmers choose sugar cane as a commodity without choosing alternative crops that can be cultivated in the same location. Alternative crops are rice and corn, which can be competitors considering profits. To find out how much opportunity costs or sacrifices are made by sugar cane farmers, this research was carried out. The research method used is quantitative by calculating the income of sugar cane farmers and the income of rice and corn farming. The research was carried out in 4 districts of Sidorjo, Tulungagung, Ngawi, Situbodo, with a sample size of 120 respondents. The results of the research show that the Opportunity Cost value for sugar cane farmers in East Java is IDR 31,618,062 if the farmers plant rice and corn. Sugarcane farming is less profitable because it earns lower income, namely IDR 25,993,750,00.
