Data collection techniques in the research were conducted using questionnaire sheets and documentation. Data analysis techniques used by researchers include normality tests and T-tests using Paired Sample T-tests. Based on the results of the research data obtained, the average value of learning activeness in the pretest was 67%, while the average value of learning activeness in the posttest showed an increase of 80%. This research proves that the buzz group method affects student learning activeness in 5th-grade social studies subjects at SDN Kebakalan Porong.

Abstract

This research was conducted to examine the impact of using Powtoon animated learning media on the learning outcomes of fifth-grade students in the subject of Social Studies at Muhammadiyah 5 Porong Elementary School, which previously had limited use of animation in the teaching process. The research method employed was quantitative research with a preexperimental design, specifically the one-group Pre-Test-Post-Test design. The subjects involved in this study were 17 fifth-grade students, selected using saturation sampling. Data collection was done through tests to measure the influence of implementing animated learning media on the learning outcomes of fifth-grade students, involving both a pre-test and a post-test consisting of a 20-item multiple-choice questionnaire. Data analysis was conducted using hypothesis testing, specifically the paired sample t-test, with a significance level of 0.000, indicating that the p-value was < 0.05. This result suggests a significant difference between the pre-test and post-test scores. Therefore, the null hypothesis (H0) was rejected, and the alternative hypothesis (Ha) was accepted. Thus, it can be concluded that the use of animated learning media has a significant impact on student learning outcomes.

Abstract

Objective: The UMMI method aims to enhance Quranic learning, particularly focusing on improving reading fluency and adherence to tartir principles. This method integrates musical elements and voice modulation to facilitate Quranic memorization and recitation. Additionally, it addresses the specific needs of inclusive education settings, tailoring the approach to the diverse abilities and characteristics of students with special needs. Methods: The study employed a tailored pedagogical approach that incorporates the UMMI method into inclusive classrooms. The method combined individualized and cooperative strategies to address the needs of children with special requirements. Individualized strategies were used to customize learning experiences based on each student's abilities, while cooperative strategies encouraged collaboration between students with special needs and their peers. Results: The findings indicate that the UMMI method effectively supports Quranic learning for students with special needs in inclusive education settings. Individualized approaches ensured that every student could access Quranic education that matched their unique needs. Cooperative strategies further fostered interaction and collaboration, enabling inclusive participation in Quranic learning. These combined approaches helped students develop their Quranic reading skills and encouraged equitable access to educational opportunities. Novelty: This study highlights the innovative application of the UMMI method in inclusive education, demonstrating its adaptability to diverse learning environments. By integrating individualized and cooperative strategies, the method bridges the gap in Quranic education for students with special needs, offering a unique blend of pedagogical techniques that cater to inclusivity and individual growth.

Abstract

Textbooks function not only as learning resources but also as powerful instruments for transmitting social values and gender ideology to students from an early age. This study aims to critically examine gender bias in the visualization of social roles and the concept of Gotong Royong (mutual cooperation) as presented in elementary school textbooks. Employing a critical content analysis approach, the research analyzes visual representations found in Pancasila Education and Social Sciences textbooks used at the elementary level. The findings reveal a significant gender paradox embedded within textbook illustrations. Although Gotong Royong is promoted as a collective and inclusive cultural value, its visual portrayal tends to emphasize masculine leadership and dominance in public roles. Male figures are repeatedly depicted occupying strategic and authoritative positions such as flag bearers, police officers, doctors, and community leaders. In contrast, female figures are predominantly represented in domestic, supportive, or subordinate roles. This visual segregation contributes to the formation of a hidden curriculum that subtly reinforces gender inequality, restricts female students’ aspirations in the public sphere, and normalizes the stigma of women’s “double burden.” Therefore, this study underscores the urgency of reconstructing visual representations in independent curriculum textbooks to promote gender equality and foster inclusive educational values
