Abstract

This study aimed at describing the effectiveness of student worksheet with an approach of project-based learning for the conventional biotechnology subject to train high school students with bioentrepreneurship skills. This study used instructional development method initiated by Fenrich through several steps: analysis, planning, designing, developing, implementation, evaluation, and revision. The experiment was conducted to 20 students at the twelfth grade in the Islamic Boarding School of A. Wahid Hasyim Jombang. The effectiveness of the project-based learning was 9.7% out of 100%. Students response was 90.0% on the values of Islamic boarding school or pesantren which become the indicator of having the bioentrepreneuship skills based on the summary of Adabul ˜Alim Wal Mutaallim kitab (hard work, responsibility, tolerance/tasamuh). Also, the completion of entrepreneurship project was 89.55%. These results show that the student worksheet is effective.

Abstract

The development of learning media is absolutely done by teachers in schools. Learning media is a tool or means used to convey messages of learning material from educators to students. The development of learning media is growing rapidly along with technological developments. This acceleration is further spurred by the demands of online learning during the COVID-19 pandemic. One of the appropriate learning media to facilitate the delivery of subject matter is digital augmented reality-based media. Now this media is in line with the implementation of the Society 5.0 era, where this concept is human-centered and technology-based. However, it is necessary to sort out the types of learning materials that are suitable for augmented reality media, namely materials that are difficult to do when social restrictions occur and can still be contextualized through these media. The application of augmented reality-based media is very much needed in educational institutions under the pesantren environment, one of which is SMA Assa'adah under the management of the Pondok Pesantren (Islamic Boarding School) of Qomaruddin, Bungah Gresik. The targets and products to be achieved are: 1) Develop school programs in the development of augmented reality-based learning media for subject matter, 2) Develop student worksheet and evaluation instruments related to augmented reality learning media, and 3) find out partner responses during the implementation of learning media based augmented reality. The method in this activity is divided into three phases. The first phase is the preparation phase. At this stage, the preparation of materials, instruments and examples of assessments that will be used during the implementation of activities through Focus Group Discussion (FGD) between partners and the Unesa team will be carried out. The second phase is the implementation of activities that will be carried out through providing information, modeling, practice by participants to use AR media, and compiling student worksheet. In the third phase, a workshop on the preparation of evaluation instruments was carried out and continued with evaluation and feedback on things that were necessary in implementation activities. The results of the activity show that 1) institutional school partners have prepared plans for developing AR-based learning media for a five-year period, 2) teacher partners have been able to develop student worksheet by utilizing augmented reality-based media; and 3) partners have responded very well to the implementation of augmented reality-based learning media with the Unesa mentoring team. Abstract

Implementation of the assessment is still an obstacle at the level of implementing in schools, one of themfor Progressive Bumi Shalawat high school teachers, especially in making plans for the development ofstudent achievement, both at national and international levels. The superiority of this high school isunder the auspices of Pesantren Bumi Shalawat so that the empowerment of managers or teachers indeveloping student achievement will complement the quality of students with academic-spiritual character.The problem to be solved is the difficulty of teachers in developing and implementing instruments fordeveloping student achievement. Targets or goals to be achieved are 1) increasing partner understandingof student achievement, 2) developing student achievement development guidelines 3) partner responseduring the process of partner empowerment activities. Broadly speaking the method in this activity isdivided into three phases. The first phase is the preparation phase. At this stage, the preparation ofmaterials, instruments and examples of assessment will be carried out when implementing activitiesthrough FGDs between partners and PKM Unesa's team. The second phase is the implementation ofactivities that will be carried out through the provision of information, modeling, and practice by participantsto compile instruments for assessing student achievement development and practice of using instrumentsthat have been prepared (through workshops on student achievement grids). In the third phase, aworkshop on the preparation of evaluation instruments and a follow-up to improve student performancewas held and continued with evaluation and feedback on the things needed in this implementation activity.Data obtained in this activity are instruments for developing student achievement, test results andquestionnaire responses of trainees analyzed descriptively quantitative and descriptive qualitative. Theresults achieved were: 1) Participants have been able to compile student achievement programs and guidestudent achievement development through focus group discussion (FGD) forums; 2) Participants havebeen able to compile an achievement grid based on achievement that is targeted for the next five yearsbased on achievements that have been previously achieved; and 3) The instrument for evaluating andfollowing up on improvements made to students' achievements has been prepared by the participants. Theposttest results obtained that partners have experienced increased understanding of student achievementwith high grades. The participants' responses during the mentoring category were good.

Abstract

Fakta menunjukkan bahwa siswa memiliki keterampilan berpikir tingkat tinggi yang rendah. Untuk meningkatkan keterampilan berpikir tingkat tinggi dibutuhkan media pembelajaran yang relevan. Media pembelajaran yang sedang dibutuhkan siswa pada masa pandemi COVID-19 adalah dalam bentuk media digital. Salah satu media digital yang sesuai adalah berupa aplikasi berbasis android pada materi fungi. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah menghasilkan media digital berupa aplikasi berbasis android untuk melatihkan keterampilan berpikir tingkat tinggi siswa pada materi fungi yang valid, praktis, dan efektif. Metode penelitian adalah ASSURE dengan tahap analisis karakteristik siswa, penentuan tujuan pembelajaran, pemilihan dan perancangan media, peninjauan dan validasi oleh ahli, uji coba terbatas pada siswa, serta evaluasi. Data diperoleh dari metode validasi, angket respon, dan tes. Penelitian dilakukan pada 36 siswa kelas X MIPA 6 SMA Negeri 1 Puri Mojokerto. Skor validitas diperoleh berdasarkan hasil validasi oleh ahli media, ahli materi, dan guru biologi. Skor kepraktisan diperoleh berdasarkan hasil respon siswa. Skor efektivitas diperoleh berdasarkan nilai N-gain score. Data dianalisis secara deskriptif kuantitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan aplikasi berbasis android sangat valid dengan rata-rata skor 95%, sangat praktis dengan rata-rata skor 86%, dan sangat efektif dengan rata-rata skor 0,85. Berdasarkan hasil tersebut maka aplikasi berbasis android dinyatakan valid, praktis, dan efektif. Aplikasi berbasis android ini dapat diterapkan dalam pembelajaran sebagai media pembelajaran yang mendukung untuk melatihkan keterampilan berpikir tingkat tinggi pada materi fungi.

Abstract

The purpose of community service is to increase public awareness about the importance of using plastic bottle waste. The method of implementing the Plastic Bottle Waste Utilization program as TOGA Planting Media through Community Service activities which was carried out during May 2022. Before carrying out activities, it is necessary to plan activities to be carried out to realize the program according to the planned achievement targets. The stages of the method of implementing these activities include the stages of preparation, implementation, and evaluation. The result of this program is a village park. The Village Park in Medalem is a small-scale public park that contains a few ornamental plants and Family Medicinal Plants placed on wooden shelves. Based on the results of the questionnaire, the use of plastic bottle waste is needed by the community, and the use of plastic bottle waste is also beneficial for the environment in Medalem Village. The community stated that recycling plastic bottle waste is also necessary and the community also stated that recycling plastic bottle waste is also an effective alternative for processing waste and the people of Medalem Village has been able to recycling plastic bottle waste.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of critical thinking skills and digital literacy on national insight. The method used in this study is a quantitative method by testing the validity and reliability. The data collection method in this study used a questionnaire distribution method to rural youth in Sidoarjo. The results of this study are the relationship between critical thinking and nationalism in Sidoarjo rural youth showing a path or original sample value of 0.594 and showing a positive relationship, the t-count value is 4.773 higher than the P value of 1.96 and lower than the Sig value of 0.004, which is less than 0.05, indicating that critical thinking has a positive value and a significant effect on the national insight of rural youth. Whereas in the relationship between digital literacy and national insight, the path value (original sample) is 0.208, reflecting a positive relationship, with a t-count value of 4.773 higher than t-table 1.96 and lower than the Sig value. 0.00 which is less than 0.05, indicating a positive and statistically significant relationship between digital literacy and national insight among young people.

Abstract

Plastic waste is a problem that must be addressed immediately. The existence of plastic waste is increasing along with the increase in the human population. Plastic waste that is just thrown away will not decompose, but will only shrink into smaller ones through physical or chemical processes. Plastics that shrink into smaller ones are called microplastics and have a size of <1-5 m. Microplastics scattered in the ocean can be accidentally consumed by fish or another marine biota. This is because the size of the microplastics is very small and very similar to their natural prey. As a result, fish and another marine biota mistakenly identify microplastics as prey. This study was conducted to analyze the effect of consuming fish contaminated with microplastics on the health of the human body. This study uses a literature review method, in which literature such as articles published in accredited journals, books, and websites are relevant to the issues to be discussed. Based on the research, it was found that some water and fish in Indonesia have been contaminated by microplastics. Microplastics that enter the human body and other living things cause adverse effects. In humans, microplastics can enter vital organs. Whereas in other living things, especially fish, microplastics can interfere with the digestive system and can even cause death in fish. Therefore, it is necessary to take action to reduce and control the use of plastic.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah menghasilkan handout perkuliahan dengan model pembelajaran kooperatif yang valid, mudah dilaksanakan, dan efektif untuk mengembangkan keterampilan merencanakan pembelajaran bagi mahasiswa. Perangkat perkuliahan yang dikembangkan dapat dipergunakan oleh dosen dan mahasiswa yang diharapkan dapat meningkatkan mutu perkuliahan pembelajaran inovatif II. Jenis penelitian ini merupakan penelitian pengembangan. Secara prinsip pengembangan perangkat pembelajaran ini menerapkan empat tahap pengembangan yang disebut Model 4-D atau Four –D Model, yaitu tahap pendifinisian (define), perancangan (design), pengembangan (develop) dan pendisiminasian (dessiminate). Penelitian ini berfokus pada pengembangan perangkat perkuliahan dengan model pembelajaran kooperatif. Produk utama yang dihasilkan dari penelitian ini adalah Perangkat perkuliahan berupa handout, mahasiswa dalam mengembangkan perencanaan pembelajaran. Analisis data dilakukan dengan analisis deskriptif kuantitatif dan inferensial. Hasil penelitian pengembangan ini menghasilkan produk berupa handout tipe-tipe pembelajaran kooperatif yang dapat diselesaikan dengan baik. Hasil uji validitas oleh ahli dan mahasiswa menunjukkan hasil bahwa handout ini layak, praktis, dan efektif digunakan sebagai perangkat perkuliahan acuan penyusunan RPP. Keunggulan handout ini adalah dapat menambah wawasan mahasiswa dalam menyusun RPP karena dilengkapi dengan contoh implementasi dalam pembelajaran dan menarik minat baca.

Abstract

Rhizophora is a genus of mangrove plants that dominates the Banyuurip Mangrove Center. This plant certainly has an anatomical structure as a form of adaptation to high salinity environments. The purpose of this study was to describe the anatomical characteristics of the leaves of the three Rhizophora species as an adaptation form of mangrove plants in the Banyuurip Mangrove Center and the anatomical variations of the leaves between species. This type of research was descriptive observational in the form of leaf anatomy observations using the whole mount method for longitudinal incisions and the paraffin method for transverse incisions. The results showed that there were anatomical variations among the three Rhizophora species in the Banyuurip Mangrove Center including epidermal cell size, number of epidermal cells, cork warts, number of hypodermis cell layers, hypodermis cell size, stomata size, number of stomata, stomata index, and stomata density. The anatomical characteristics of the leaves of the three Rhizophora species which act as a form of adaptation to mangrove plants are the presence of hypodermis tissue which functions to store water and salt to remove salt content in plants when they abort their leaves, low density of stomata and the presence of cuticles on the adaxial surface of leaves which play a role in reducing the rate of transpiration thus maintaining water to support plant development in saline conditions, cork warts which function as a medium for expelling salt on leaves.
