Abstract

This research is conducted to improve the students‟ ability in appreciating poetry through the use of Inductive Model. This study applies Research and Development  method  which  has been  modified,  and  the  result  of  the  study is analyzed descriptively.  The result of the study reveals that the use  of Inductive Model is able to improve the students‟ ability in appreciating poetry by concerning eight instructional steps. The numerical improvement can be seen from the students‟ average scores in every treatment. On the first treatment, the students‟ average score is 60.9, the second treatment is 62.4 and on the third treatment is 65.3. Based on the criteria  of success,  the  students‟  average  scores seem to increase  from the  first treatment until the third treatment, from fair level into very good level. The first treatment  shows  an  increase  from  fair  level  into  excellent  level.  The  second treatment shows an increase from good to very good. Finally, the third treatment shows an increase from very good to excellent level

Abstract

Learning activities of appreciation of literary works, especially poetry which have been conducted by the teacher, need to be reviewed. The learning process that is dominated by the teacher can limit student involvement. This study aims to improve students' ability to appreciate poetry through Taba model. This research was conducted for one month. This research used the classroom action research (CAR) method. The data were analyzed quantitatively. The research results obtained that the ability of students to appreciate in poetry were increased. It can be seen from the evaluation results of learning and observations of teacher and student activities. The evaluation results of Cycle I is 51.5 Cycle II 71.3 and Cycle III 85, while the results of observation of Cycle I from 'less' criteria turned into 'enough', Cycle II from 'enough' to 'good' and cycle III from 'good' to 'very good'. From these results it can be concluded that learning through Taba model can improve students' ability to appreciate poetry. Abstrak Kegiatan pembelajaran apresiasi karya sastra terutama puisi yang selama ini dilakukan oleh guru, perlu ditinjau kembali. Proses pembelajaran yang didominasi oleh guru dapat membatasi keterlibatan siswa. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan siswa dalam mengapresiasi puisi melalui model Taba. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan selama satu bulan. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode penelitian tindakan kelas (PTK). Data dianalisis secara kuantitatif. Hasil penelitian yang diperoleh bahwa kemampuan siswa mengapresiasi dalam puisi meningkat. Hal itu dapat dilihat dari hasil evaluasi belajar dan hasil observasi kegiatan guru dan siswa. Siklus I hasil evaluasi 51,5 siklus II 71,3 dan siklus III 85, sedangkan hasil observasi siklus I dari kreteria ‘kurang’ berubah menjadi ‘cukup’, siklus II dari ‘cukup’ berubah menjadi ‘baik’ dan siklus III dari ‘baik’ berubah menjadi ‘sangat baik’. Dari hasil tersebut maka dapat disimpulkan, bahwa pembelajaran melalui model Taba dapat meningkatkan kemampuan siswa dalam mengapresiasi puisi. Kata Kunci: Model Taba, Apresiasi, Puisi, PTK

Abstract

Teachers' efforts to teach students how to write expository text should be evaluated. The lecture method dominates the learning process, resulting in learning outcomes that are far from ideal. The purpose of this study is to improve students' ability in writing expository texts using an image-based problem-solving model. This study employs classroom action research as its methodology (CAR). Students' ability to write expository texts improved as a result of the results. The increase in KKM from 68.4 percent in the first cycle to 88.8 percent in the second cycle demonstrates this trend. It means that there is a decrease in student KKM from 31.4 percent to 11.4 percent; 2) an increase in students' average score from 72.5 percent in the first cycle to 85 percent in the second cycle; and 3) student responses showed very good criteria with 40.2 percent, good 40.6 percent, 19.2 percent enough, and 0 percent less. Based on these findings, it is possible to conclude that learning through problem-based learning models with image media can help students improve their ability to write exposition texts. As a result, teachers who are having difficulty learning to write expository texts should consider using a problem-based learning model with image media. Abstrak Pembelajaran menulis teks eksposisi yang selama ini dipraktikkan oleh guru, perlu ditinjau kembali. Proses pembelajaran yang didominasi oleh metode ceramah, menyebabkan hasil pembelajaran jauh dari harapan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan siswa dalam menulis teks eksposisi melalui model problem based learning dengan media gambar. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode penelitian tindakan kelas (PTK). Hasil yang diperoleh, kemampuan siswa dalam menulis teks eksposisi meningkat. Peningkatan tersebut dapat dilihat dari kenaikan KKM dari 68.4% pada siklus I menjadi 88,8% pada siklus II. Berarti terdapat penurunan KKM siswa dari 31.4% tinggal 11.4%; 2) kenaikan nilai rata-rata siswa dari 72.5 pada siklus I menjadi 85 pada siklus II; dan 3) respon siswa menujukkan kreteria sangat baik terdapat 40.2%, baik 40.6%, cukup 19.2%, dan kurang 0%. Dari hasil tersebut maka dapat disimpulkan, bahwa pembelajaran melalui model problem based learning dengan media gambar dapat meningkatkan kemampuan siswa dalam menulis teks eksposisi. Oleh karena itu, disarankan bagi para guru yang mengalami permasalah pembelajaran menulis teks eksposisi dapat menggunakan model problem based learning dengan media gambar. Abstract

The online learning process during the COVID-19 pandemic resulted in students boredom. The online learning process which tends to be monotonous and too serious can make students less interested in participating in learning. The solution that can be done to overcome these problems is to carry out the learning by using Genially. This research was conducted for a month. The research method used is Classroom Action Research (CAR). The data were analyzed quantitatively and qualitatively. Quantitative data was collected from the results of pre-test and post-test activities, while qualitative data is in the form of a questionnaire given in the form of google forms that described qualitatively. The results obtained based on pre-test and post-test activities, showed that the interest in learning of grade X MIPA 4 students at Senior High School 5 Malang in Indonesian online learning had increased. It can be seen from the average that increased in the percentage of student interest in learning by 17.94%. Based on these results, it can be concluded that students' interest in Indonesian online learning in grade X students of Senior High School 5 Malang can be increased through learning by using Genially. Abstrak Proses pembelajaran yang dilakukan secara daring selama pandemi covid-19 mengakibatkan siswa merasa bosan. Proses pembelajaran daring yang cenderung monoton dan terlalu serius dapat membuat siswa kurang berminat mengikuti pembelajaran. Solusi yang dapat dilakukan untuk mengatasi permasalahan tersebut adalah melaksanakan pembelajaran menggunakan media Genially. Penelitian ini dilakukan selama sebulan. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK). Data dianalisis secara kuantitatif dan kualitatif. Data kuantitatif dikumpulkan dari hasil kegiatan pratindakan dan pascatindakan, sedangkan data kualitatif berupa angket yang diberikan dalam bentuk google forms dideskripsikan secara kualitatif. Hasil penelitian yang diperoleh berdasarkan kegiatan pratindakan dan pascatindaan, menunjukkan minat belajar siswa kelas X MIPA 4 SMA Negeri 5 Malang dalam pembelajaran daring Bahasa Indonesia mengalami peningkatan. Hal itu dapat dilihat dari rata-rata peningatan persentase minat belajar siswa sebesar 17,94%. Berdasarkan hasil tersebut maka dapat disimpulkan, bahwa minat belajar siswa dalam pembelajaran daring Bahasa Indonesia pada siswa kelas X SMA Negeri 5 Malang dapat ditingkatkan melalui pembelajaran menggunakan media Genially. Abstract

The research aims to identify the pattern of supervision used by SMAN 1 Sidoarjo in implementing the excellent school program based on soft skills. This study uses a qualitative descriptive approach. Principals, teachers, students, staff and everyone else involved in SMAN 1 Sidoarjo's excellent school program focused on soft skills were the study's subjects. The research's primary data collection methods are interviews, observation, and documentation. The results showed that SMAN 1 Sidoarjo's excellent school supervision program based on soft skills involved internal elements such as the school itself, the administrator as the primary element who manages the academic community, and teachers who supervise students. The purpose of internal supervision is to ensure that the soft skills program is implemented effectively and efficiently. The education department, supervisors, school committees, parents/guardians, and the community all participate in external supervision. External supervision is necessary for the program's development and maintenance. The result shows that supervision in the implementation of a program is essential to do to maintain the sustainability of the program.

Abstract

Some people who appreciate literature still discuss about the real meaning of each term which often appears in literary works especially in narrative fiction, such as plot, story, character, characterization, and conflict. The fact is there are some people who appreciate literature but are not able to differentiate those terms. That is why the purposeof this article is to explain the position of fiction, especially narrative fiction, in literary works. Because the characteristics of fiction include all the aspects of story, this article explains story, plot, and conflict. Story is an event followed by another event, then followed by another event, and so on, whereas plot is event series which is joined by causeand effect. Meanwhile, conflict is created by the interaction of each character. Without interaction, a conflict could not be created. Therefore, a conflict is an integral part that should be stated in. Whether good or bad a conflict is depends on the criteria of conflict itself.Keywords: fiksi, naratif, plot, cerita, tokoh, penokohan, konflik

Abstract

Abstract: The purpose of this study was to determine the planning and organization of soft skills-based superior school programs at SMAN 1 Sidoarjo. The method used is a descriptive method with a qualitative approach. The subjects of this research include principals, teachers, education staff, students, and all those involved in the program. The research instruments are interviews, observations, and documentation. The findings data were analyzed and presented in a qualitative descriptive manner. The results showed that the implementation of a superior school based on soft skills at SMAN 1 Sidoarjo required careful planning and good organization. Planning activities start from equalizing a common determination in running the program, adjusting the program to the school's vision and mission, involving all stakeholders, identifying potentials, identifying soft skills values that will be developed, and socializing to all school members. Meanwhile, organizing activities begin with structuring the main tasks and functions, division of work responsibilities, setting priorities for school readiness, supporting funding sources, financial transparency, and providing facilities and infrastructure that can support the program. The conclusion is that planning and organizing superior schools based on soft skills is absolutely necessary to ensure the implementation of the program. Keywords: Planning, organizing, superior school, soft skills.  Abstrak: Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui perencanaan dan pengorganisasian program sekolah unggul berbasis soft skills di SMAN 1 Sidoarjo. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode deskriptif dengan pendekatan kualitatif. Subyek penelitian ini meliputi kepala sekolah, guru, tenaga kependidikan, siswa, dan semua yang terlibat dalam program. Instrumen penelitian ini ialah wawancara, observasi, dan dokumentasi. Data temuan dianalisis dan dipaparkan secara deskriptif kualitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa implementasi sekolah unggul berbasis soft skills SMAN 1 Sidoarjo diperlukan perencanaan yang matang dan pengorganisasian yang baik. Kegiatan perencanaan dimulai dari menyamakan tekad bersama dalam menjalankan program, menyesuaikan program dengan visi dan misi sekolah, melibatkan seluruh  stakeholder, identifikasi potensi, identifikasi nilai-nilai soft skills yang akan dikembangkan, dan sosialisasi kepada seluruh warga sekolah. Sedangkan kegiatan pengorganisasian diawali dari penataan tupoksi (tugas pokok dan fungsi), pembagian tanggung-jawab kerja, penetapan prioritas kesiapan sekolah, dukungan sumber dana, keterbukaan finansial, dan penyediaan sarana dan prasarana yang mampu mendukung program. Kesimpulannya adalah perencanaan dan pengorganisasian sekolah unggul berbasis soft skills mutlak diperlukan untuk menjamin terlaksanannya implementasi program.  Kata Kunci: Perencanaan, pengorganisasian, sekolah unggul, soft skills.

Abstract

ABSTRACTOne of the Tri Dharma Perguruan Tinggi is doing a community service. In order to actualize the community service, Faculty of Cultural Studies of Brawijaya University implements a community service assistance. The purpose of this community service is to give assistance to the local community of dusun Brumbung desa Gunungsari kecamatan Bumiaji Batu city in managing the tourist destination. The method that is used in this activity is Community Based Tourism Development (CBT) ecotourism, which enables the local community to get involved in tourism economy development from the evaluation stage of the tourism resources potential and to promote it. The result of this activity is that the dusun Brumbung desa Gunungsari kecamatan Bumiaji Batu city local community becomes aware and experienced on managing tourism resources, mapping, and promoting it to the outside world by means of short movie, vlog, and brochure through the use of science and technology. Keywords : Tourist attraction, community empowerment, promotion. ABSTRAK Salah satu dari Tri Dharma Perguruan Tinggi adalah pengabdian kepada masyarakat. Dalam rangka mewujudkan Tri Dharma bidang pengabdian kepada masyarakat, Fakultas Ilmu Budaya Universitas Brawijaya melaksanakan pendampingan pemberdayaan masyarakat. Tujuan dari kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini adalah memberikan pendampingan kepada masyarakat dusun Brumbung desa Gunungsari kecamatan Bumiaji kota Batu dalam mengelola destinasi wisata. Metode yang digunakan dalam kegiatan ini adalah metode ekoturisme Community Based Tourism Development (CBT), yakni masyarakat terlibat langsung dalam pembangunan ekonomi pariwisata sejak tahap penetuan potensi destinasi sumber daya wisata dan mempromosikannya. Hasil kegiatan ini, masyarakat dusun Brumbung desa Gunungsari kecamatan Bumiaji kota Batu memiliki kesadaran dan pengalaman dalam pengelolaan sumber daya wisata, pemetaan wilayah, hingga kegiatan mempromosikannya ke dunia luar dengan sarana film pendek, vlog, dan brosur, melalui pemanfatan ilmu pengetahuan dan teknologi.  Kata Kunci: Objek wisata, pemberdayaan masyarakat, promosi.

Abstract

ABSTRACTThe ability to write scientific papers for the Indonesian MGMP (subject teacher) group of teachers in Bojonegoro district is low. Various efforts of the Bojonegoro District Education Office in providing upgrading to teachers on scientific writing techniques have not yielded results. The number of teachers who do not understand the technique of writing scientific papers is caused by the low understanding of teachers and the lack of intensity in providing training to write scientific papers. One of the efforts to overcome these problems is the provision of intensive training to teachers on the technique of writing scientific papers. The provision of intensive training is intended to help provide enlightenment in understanding and direct practice of scientific writing techniques. This community service activity is carried out for teachers who are members of the Indonesian Language MGMP teacher group in Bojonegoro district. The method used in this activity is to conduct intensive scientific writing training. As a result of this activity, the ability of teachers who are members of the Indonesian MGMP teacher group in Bojonegoro district has increased significantly. These results can be seen from the ability of teachers to understand and practice scientific writing techniques. Keywords: Training, writing scientific papers, MGMP. ABSTRAKKemampuan menulis karya ilmiah kelompok guru MGMP (musyawarah guru mata pelajaran) Bahasa Indonesia di kabupaten Bojonegoro tergolong rendah. Berbagai upaya Dinas Pendidikan kabupaten Bojonegoro dalam memberikan penataran kepada para guru tentang teknik menulis karya ilmiah belum membuahkan hasil. Banyaknya guru yang belum mengerti teknik menulis karya ilmiah tersebut disebabkan oleh rendahnya pemahaman guru serta kurangnya intensitas pemberian pelatihan menulis karya ilmiah. Salah satu upaya untuk mengatasi permasalahan tersebut adalah pemberian pelatihan secara intensif kepada para guru tentang teknik menulis karya ilmiah. Pemberian pelatihan secara intensif tersebut dimaksudkan untuk membantu memberikan pencerahan dalam memahami dan mempraktikan secara langsung teknik menulis karya ilmiah. Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini dilakukan terhadap para guru yang tergabung dalam kelompok guru MGMP Bahasa Indonesia di kabupaten Bojonegoro. Metode yang digunakan dalam kegiatan ini adalah melakukan pelatihan menulis karya ilmiah secara intensif. Hasil dari kegiatan ini, kemampuan guru yang tergabung dalam kelompok guru MGMP Bahasa Indonesia di kabupaten Bojonegoro mengalami peningkatan signifikan. Hasil tersebut dapat dilihat dari kemampuan para guru memahami dan mempraktikan teknik menulis karya ilmiah. Kata Kunci: Pelatihan, menulis karya ilmiah, MGMP.

Abstract

Agricultural tourism is a practice of agricultural cultivation in a farmer's neighbourhood by adopting tourism services. The purposes of this community service are to describe (1) the socio-economic conditions of the durian farmers in Sumberagung Village, (2) the managerial competence of durian farmers in Sumberagung Village, and (3) the competence of Good Agricultural Practices (GAP) of durian farmers. Ngantang district is used as a community service location because it is one of the famous durian producers in Malang. The community service is focused in Sumberagung Village because the local farmers are fostered by the Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas Brawijaya and there are also many new durian varieties that are researched by lecturers and students of Universitas Brawijaya. The results of this community service are (1) the socio-economy of durian farming can be improved through the development of durian agricultural tourism, (2) some durian farmers have managerial competence so that they can be used as opinion leaders in developing durian agricultural tourism, and (3) with the competence of Good Agricultural Practices (GAP) owned by the durian farmers, they can plan durian agricultural tourism.
