Abstract

This study employs a case study method with a qualitative approach to understand the home-based literacy program and its impact on early-grade students' literacy. Data were collected through interviews, observations, audio recordings, and written documents from principals, parents, and teachers. Data analysis was conducted using thematic techniques, triangulation, and interpretation to explain the role of parents in enhancing students' literacy skills. The research findings indicate that parental involvement is crucial in supporting elementary school students' literacy abilities. Good literacy skills at an early age form a critical foundation for future academic success and cognitive development. The home-based literacy program is an effective approach that requires active parental participation. Creating a rich reading environment, establishing daily reading routines, and integrating literacy into everyday activities can increase children's interest and reading skills. Support from technology, social, and emotional backing, along with collaboration with schools and communities, ensures the improvement of students' literacy and educational quality. The home-based literacy program enhances the success of the learning process and the quality of education by actively involving parents in supporting children's literacy.

Abstract

Abstract

The persistent challenges facing elementary education in Indonesia—ranging from inadequacies in curriculum design and instructional delivery to inefficiencies in resource management—necessitate transformative school leadership. This study critically investigates the strategic role of principals in improving educational quality through the integrated implementation of seven core leadership functions: as educator, manager, administrator, supervisor, leader, innovator, and motivator. Employing a qualitative case study design in Kasihan District, Bantul Regency, data were obtained through in-depth interviews, direct observations, and document analysis. The findings indicate that effective principals drive curricular relevance and innovation, foster collaborative pedagogical planning, and promote the integration of educational technologies. Moreover, they facilitate continuous professional development, ensure transparent and efficient resource utilization, and nurture strong community engagement. The study concludes that school principals act as pivotal agents in cultivating adaptive, inclusive, and innovation-oriented learning environments. It recommends capacity-building programs for school leaders and teachers, enhanced governance mechanisms, and strengthened stakeholder partnerships. These insights contribute to both the practical discourse on educational leadership development and the broader theoretical understanding of strategic school governance within decentralized educational systems.

Abstract

Stunting remains a chronic nutritional problem that hinders human development in Indonesia due to its multidimensional impacts on cognitive aspects, economic productivity, and the social well-being of communities. To address this challenge, the Thematic Community Service program (KKN-T) of Alma Ata University in Debong Kulon Village was developed through a synergistic three-pillar model that integrates family nutrition education, literacy and utilization of local food, as well as household economic empowerment based on nutrition gardens as a holistic strategy to combat stunting. This program employs a community-based participatory approach through four systematic stages, problem identification, participatory planning, intervention implementation, and reflective evaluation, to ensure the program’s relevance and sustainability. Empirical results show a 23.5% increase in family nutrition knowledge, an 87% rise in participation in community health posts (posyandu), and 82% of households successfully managing nutrition gardens independently. Scientifically, these findings affirm the effectiveness of participatory communication, social learning, and local food self-sufficiency in fostering sustainable nutritional behavior change. The main conclusion indicates that the triple-pillar empowerment model has proven effective in strengthening social resilience and ensuring the sustainability of interventions, while also offering an adaptive replication model for urban and semi-urban areas within the framework of equitable and sustainable community development.

Abstract

Digital transformation in the governance of Islamic education faces multifaceted challenges, particularly in the context of private Islamic senior high schools (Madrasah Aliyah Swasta, MAS) operating under resource constraints. This study aims to examine the factors influencing the acceptance of the Electronic Budget and Work Plan Application for Madrasahs (e-RKAM) using a modified Technology Acceptance Model (TAM). Two external variables—user experience and training—were analyzed for their effects on perceived ease of use (PEOU) and perceived usefulness (PU), as well as their implications for user attitudes and behavioral intentions toward system utilization. Employing a quantitative approach, this study conducted path analysis using AMOS software on data collected from MAS in Karawang Regency. The findings indicate that both experience and training significantly influence PEOU and PU, which in turn shape user attitudes and behavioral intentions. The results confirm that perceived usefulness exerts the strongest influence on user attitudes, while attitude serves as the primary predictor of sustained system use. Theoretically, this study extends the applicability of TAM to mandatory technology adoption in Islamic education, while practically, it highlights the urgency of designing participatory, contextual, and experience-based training programs to enhance the effective implementation of e-RKAM. This research offers a substantive contribution to bridging the gap between educational digitalization policies and the institutional realities of private Islamic schools.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of principals’ leadership styles and work environment on the performance of public elementary school teachers in Majalaya District, Karawang Regency, both partially and simultaneously. A quantitative approach was employed using a survey method and multiple linear regression analysis. The sample consisted of 92 teachers selected through proportional random sampling. Data were collected using a closed-ended Likert-scale questionnaire that had been tested for validity and reliability. Descriptive analysis showed that the principal’s leadership style and teacher performance were rated as "very good," while the work environment was categorized as "good." Simultaneous regression analysis revealed that both independent variables significantly influenced teacher performance, with a coefficient of determination (R²) of 0.691, indicating that 69.1% of the variance in teacher performance could be explained by leadership style and work environment. Partially, the work environment had the most dominant influence. These findings reinforce theories of organizational behavior and human resource management, emphasizing the importance of effective leadership and a supportive work environment in enhancing professional teacher performance. This study contributes both theoretically and practically to the development of adaptive, transformative, and contextual educational management strategies at the elementary school level.
