Abstract

Abstract This study aims to produce HOTS-based LKPD products and Problem Based Learning on linear program material oriented towards increasing the mathematical creative thinking skills and to determine the feasibility of HOTS-based LKPDs through the application of PBL models to linear program material to improve students' mathematical creative thinking abilities educate. Data collection was carried out by means of document analysis, conducting surveys, and quetionnaires. This research uses the ADDIE model which consists of five development steps, namely analyze, design, development, implementation and evaluation. The subjects of this study The subjects in this study were students of class XI IPA MAN 3 Jambi City and the objects in this study were HOTS-based worksheets. Based on the research results the developed LKPD produces positive responses and can be used in the learning process and can improve students' mathematical creative thinking skills, and the effectiveness is obtained based on the product developed which can improve students' mathematical creative thinking abilities from the results of the pre-test and post-test through the N-gain test obtained a score of 0.62, namely in the medium category and the HOTS-Based LKPD and Problem Based Learning that was developed was effective.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis kemampuan berpikir kritis dan kreatif matematis dalam pemecahan masalah materi barisan dan deret aritmatika pada siswa introvert di kelas XI SMA Xaverius 1 Kota Jambi. Masalah ini muncul karena perbedaan keterampilan berpikir dan proses berpikir siswa berdasarkan tipe kepribadian, yang awalnya ditemukan bahwa kemampuan berpikir kritis dan kreatif matematis rendah pada siswa dengan kepribadian introvert. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif dengan mengumpulkan data angket kepribadian, soal tes, dan wawancara. Subjek penelitian dipilih dari siswa introvert berdasarkan hasil angket kepribadian dan lembar jawaban, dengan tiga siswa yang mewakili keempat kelompok jawaban yang ada. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa siswa introvert memiliki kemampuan berpikir kritis matematis dalam memahami masalah, merencanakan, dan melaksanakan rencana. Namun, mereka cenderung kurang memeriksa kembali solusi mereka. Kemampuan berpikir kreatif matematis pada siswa introvert terutama mencakup fluency dan flexibility dalam memahami masalah, merencanakan, dan melaksanakan rencana, tetapi kurang dalam hal originality dan elaboration dalam pemecahan masalah. This research aims to analyze critical and creative mathematical thinking skills in solving problems regarding sequences and arithmetic series in introverted students in class XI SMA Xaverius 1 Jambi City. This problem arises because of differences in students' thinking skills and thought processes based on personality type, which was initially found that critical and creative mathematical thinking abilities were low in students with introverted personalities. This research uses a descriptive qualitative approach by collecting personality questionnaire data, test questions and interviews. The research subjects were selected from introverted students based on the results of a personality questionnaire and answer sheet, with three students representing the four answer groups. The research results show that introverted students have mathematical critical thinking skills in understanding problems, planning and implementing plans. However, they tend to check their solutions less. Mathematical creative thinking abilities in introverted students mainly include fluency and flexibility in understanding problems, planning and implementing plans, but lacking in terms of originality and elaboration in problem solving.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of using the Predict Observe Explain learning model, and motivation on students' HOTS in the biology subject matter of the human respiratory system. This research is a quantitative research. The design used in this study is a quasi-experimental design. There are two types of instruments used as a means of collecting data (learning motivation questionnaire and learning test). The instrument used has been validated first by the validator. The results showed that the results of the control class with the pretest average were 68.90, the posttest was 72.65, while the pretest experimental class was 71.40, while the posttest was 79.45. posttest scores can be interpreted as follows: HOTS ability of students who use conventional learning models and have low motivation with an average score (mean) = 70.00. HOTS ability of students who use conventional learning models and have high motivation with an average score (mean) = 74.08. The HOTS ability group of students who use the Poe learning model and have low motivation with an average score (mean) = 72.29. While the HOTS Ability Group of students who use the Poe learning model and have high motivation with an average score (mean) = 83.31. Key words: Predic observe explain, Motivation, Higher order thinking skill Abstrak Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk Mengetahui pengaruh penggunaan model pembelajaran Predict Observe Explain, dan motivasi terhadap HOTS siswa pada mata pelajaran biologi materi sistem pernapasan manusia. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kuantitatif. Desain yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah eksperimen semu (Quasi Experimental Design). Instrumen yang digunakan sebagai alat pengumpulan data ini ada dua jenis (angket motivasi belajar dan tes belajar). Instrumen yang digunakan terlebih dahulu telah divalidasi oleh validator. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa hasil kelas control dengan rata-rata pretest yakni 68,90,posttest yakni 72,65, sedangkan kelas eksperimen pretest yakni 71,40, sedangkan posttest yakni 79,45. nilai postest dapat dintrepretasikan sebagai berikut: Kemampuan HOTS siswa yang menggunakan model pembelajaran konvensional dan memiliki Motivasi rendah dengan perolehan nilai rata-rata (mean) = 70.00. Kemampuan HOTS siswa yang menggunakan model pembelajaran konvensional dan memiliki Motivasi tinggi dengan perolehan nilai rata-rata (mean) = 74.08. Kelompok Kemampuan HOTS siswa yang menggunakan model pembelajaran Poe dan memiliki Motivasi rendah dengan perolehan nilai rata-rata (mean) = 72.29. Sedangkan Kelompok Kemampuan HOTS siswa yang menggunakan model pembelajaran poe dan memiliki Motivasi tinggi dengan perolehan nilai rata-rata (mean) = 83.31. Abstract

Permasalahan dalam penelitian ini diangkat karena hasil wawancara terhadap guru matematika di SMPN 18 Kota Jambi mengindikasikan bahwa kemampuan representasi matematis siswa Kelas VIII tergolong rendah serta tidak sedikit dari mereka yang pasif dalam belajar. Oleh karena itu, penelitian ini menitikberatkan pada penerapan pembelajaran berdiferensiasi berdasarkan gaya belajar menggunakan model PjBL terhadap peningkatan representasi matematis siswa. Penelitian eksperimen ini menggunakan metode True Experimental Design dengan tipe Pretest-Posttest Control Group Design. Berdasarkan hasil pengambilan sampel acak, diperoleh kelas VIII F sebagai kelompok eksperimen dan kelas VIII G sebagai kelompok kontrol dengan jumlah 28 siswa pada setiap kelasnya. Penelitian dilakukan pada materi SPLDV di semester ganjil tahun ajaran 2023/2024. Dalam memperoleh informasi digunakan instrumen berupa angket, lembar observasi dan tes. Temuan penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penerapan pembelajaran berdiferensiasi berdasarkan gaya belajar dengan Project Based Learning efektif dalam meningkatkan kemampuan representasi matematis siswa. Peningkatan tertinggi diperoleh oleh siswa dengan gaya belajar kinestetik, yang mencapai kriteria tinggi dengan skor peningkatan sebesar 0,743.The problem in this study was raised because the results of interviews with mathematics teachers at SMPN 18 Jambi City indicated that the mathematical representation skills of Class VIII students were low and many of them were passive in learning. Therefore, this study focuses on the application of differentiated learning based on learning styles using the PjBL model to improve students' mathematical representations. This experimental research uses the True Experimental Design method with the Pretest-Posttest Control Group Design type. Based on the results of random sampling, class VIII F was obtained as the experimental group and class VIII G as the control group with a total of 28 students in each class. The research was conducted on SPLDV material in the odd semester of the 2023/2024 school year. In obtaining information, instruments such as questionnaires, observation sheets and tests were used. The research findings show that the application of differentiated learning based on learning styles with Project Based Learning is effective in improving students' mathematical representation skills. The highest improvement was obtained by students with kinesthetic learning style, which reached high criteria with an improvement score of 0.743.

Abstract

This research aims to describe the relationship between natural phenomena as reflected in the Natural Phenomena in the Systematic Pattern of the Fibonacci Sequence and Fractal Patterns in the Context of Philosophy of Education, particularly in the aspects of ontology, epistemology, and axiology in mathematics learning. The types of research used are descriptive research and library research. The findings in this article are that mathematical concepts such as the Fibonacci sequence and fractal patterns can be integrated into philosophy-based education learning. Natural patterns such as the Fibonacci sequence and fractals in mathematics teaching not only deepen the understanding of mathematical concepts ontologically but also enrich the reasoning process (epistemologically) and learning values (axiologically). This integration contributes to more contextual, relevant, and meaningful learning. The conclusion of this study emphasizes the importance of applying structured educational philosophy in mathematics teaching through the exploration of natural phenomena, thereby encouraging the development of students' understanding and critical thinking skills. This study recommends strengthening the integration of educational philosophy aspects in mathematics material through a systematic study of natural phenomena

Abstract

Mathematical representation skill is students' ability to express mathematical ideas (such as problems, statements, and definitions) in various ways to solve problems through multiple representations, such as images, words, tables, and symbols mathematics. Students are struggling in representing mathematical ideas. It hampers them in determining the solution of mathematical problems. They are careless in reading the word problems, lacking problem analysis, less thorough, and struggling to connect concepts. The subjects of this study were in two students from one of the junior high school in Jambi. The instruments used for this research were VVQ, Mathematical Representation Ability Test and interviews. This study used a descriptive qualitative method. The results showed that the representation abilities of students with visualizer and verbalizer style were quite good. However, each subject had a different way of solving problems. Visualizers were more interested in questions with image information in solving the problem. Verbalizer tended to prefer information with detailed wording.
