Poverty is a phenomenon of human suffering that is often brought up as the main theme in the works of literature. The study examines how poverty is manifested in the poem entitled Morning at the Window by T. S. Elliot. The analysis focuses on interpreting the poem’s meaning and further analyses the portrayal of poverty. The theoretical framework used to analyze the poem's meaning is the semiotics of poetry by Michael Riffaterre. The dimensions of poverty by Robert Chambers are also used to analyze the elements of poverty that constructed the main issue of the poem. The analysis focuses on the unsustainability of meaning and interpretation from heuristic and hermeneutic reading. The overall meaning is drawn to reveal how the poem portrays the issue of poverty. Besides, the concept of poverty depicted in the poem is demystified based on the dimensions of poverty by Chambers. The analysis shows that the poem illustrates its main issue by strongly depending on the objective, representing poverty’s dimensions. The identified dimensions of poverty that constructed the issue are powerlessness, isolation, vulnerability, and poverty. These dimensions are illustrated by depicting the maids’ physical and mental state caused by living in poverty.

Kawasan Cagar Budaya Nasional (KCBN) Trowulan merupakan salah satu kawasan konservasi Cagar Budaya yang dilindungi oleh Pemerintah Indonesia sebagai lokasi bekas Ibu Kota Kerajaan Majapahit yang dimanfaatkan oleh masyarakat sebagai salah satu destinasi wisata budaya berbasis Cagar Budaya. Pemanfaatan Cagar Budaya sebagai objek pariwisata seharusnya menjadi aset untuk memberdayakan masyarakat lokal dalam jangka panjang, namun faktanya pariwisata berbasis Cagar Budaya masih sangat dirasa belum cukup optimal. Metode penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian kualitatif dengan pengumpulan data berupa studi pustaka, observasi lapangan, dan wawancara mendalam. Informan dalam penelitian ini adalah pelaku Objek Pemajuan Kebudayaan, stakeholder terkait, ahli budaya KCBN Trowulan, dan komunitas budaya kawasan tersebut. Hasil temuan dari penelitian ini adalah bahwa strategi yang perlu digunakan dalam upaya peningkatan pembangunan pariwisata berkelanjutan di KCBN Trowulan perlu menggunakan strategi pemajuan kebudayaan, yaitu melalui pelestarian Objek Pemajuan Kebudayaan yang ada di kawasan tersebut melalui upaya pengembangan dan pemanfaatan. Luaran penelitian ini dapat dijadikan sebagai acuan dalam merumuskan strategi dan program pembangunan pariwisata berkelanjutan yang ada di KCBN Trowulan. Trowulan National Cultural Heritage Area is one of the Cultural Heritage conservation areas protected by the Government of Indonesia as the location of the former Majapahit Royal Capital which is utilized by the community as one of the Cultural Heritage-based cultural tourism destinations. The utilization of Cultural Heritage as a tourism object should be an asset to empower local communities in the long term, but the fact is that Cultural Heritage-based tourism is still not optimal enough. This research method uses qualitative research methods with data collection in the form of literature studies, field observations, and in-depth interviews. The informants in this research are actors of the Cultural Advancement Object, related stakeholders, cultural experts of the Trowulan National Cultural Heritage Area, and the cultural community of the area. The findings of this research are that the strategy that needs to be used in an effort to increase sustainable tourism development in the Trowulan National Cultural Heritage Area needs to use a cultural promotion strategy, namely through the preservation of Cultural Advancement Objects in the area through development and utilization efforts. The output of this research can be used as a reference in formulating sustainable tourism development strategies and programs in the Trowulan National Cultural Heritage Area.

Zoning of Cultural Heritage is one of the government's efforts to protect Cultural Heritage from various factors that can threaten the existence of Cultural Heritage in the current era of modernization. One of the Cultural Heritage zonings implemented by the government is the Trowulan National Cultural Heritage Area Zoning. The zoning is implemented to regulate the function of space by considering the preservation of Cultural Heritage as a fundamental aspect in the Trowulan National Cultural Heritage Area. This research aims to find out how the zoning of Cultural Heritage is implemented in the Trowulan National Cultural Heritage Area to regulate the function of space through the cultural paradigm. This research uses qualitative research methods with a case study approach, namely the Trowulan National Cultural Heritage Area. The techniques used to collect data in this research are observation, interviews, and documents. The analysis method used in this research is interpretative qualitative method. The results of this research show that through the cultural paradigm, the zoning of the Trowulan National Cultural Heritage Area really needs to be done to provide regulations that regulate the function of space to maintain the existence of Cultural Heritage so that it can be passed down to the next generation of the Indonesian Nation.

Dangdut is a genre of music that has evolved into a cultural phenomenon within Indonesian society, particularly among the middle and lower socioeconomic classes. Dangdut music first featured lyrics with significant meaning and later evolved into dangdut koplo. Dangdut koplo is frequently linked to a rapid tempo and captivating vocalists. The objective of this study is to examine the commodification of female dangdut koplo singers within TikTok app. The research employed a visual ethnography approach to examine the commodification of female dangdut singers, focusing on their dress, cosmetics, and body motions that were captured in the video. The result of this study shows that there are elements or concepts of commodification of biduanita in dangdut koplo videos in TikTok. When performing on the stage, the singers generally utilized clothing, makeup, and body movements, to attract money or saweran from the crowds and increase popularity with their attractiveness. However, when the clip of the performance is used by unofficial accounts that do not belong to the artists or their production companies, it becomes a form of commodity for these accounts to acquire popularity on TikTok through likes and views. The bodies of these biduanitas then transform into commodity objects on social media platforms, promoting the sexualization and objetification of female dangdut singers.

Abstract Women's empowerment and equality in the economic sector have become widespread due to the successful implementation of the feminist movement. In socialist feminism, the oppression of women in the world of work was rampant, and this has slowly diminished with the empowerment of women in the social and economic sectors. The selling of boran rice by women only in Lamongan, East Java, Indonesia, has a uniqueness because it is one of Lamongan's traditional foods. This research aims to discuss women's empowerment and gender equality in the production and selling practice of boran rice in Lamongan. This research uses descriptive qualitative methods and a phenomenological approach. The data taken in this study is from interviews with boran rice sellers in Lamongan. The results of this research suggest that boran rice sellers do not mind being supporters of the family economy. The women empowerment act is found in the association that houses boran rice sellers in the west of the Lamongan plaza. The gender equality found in the opportunity for women to have a job. This reflects that women and men have their own roles, and their skills are equally useful.. Dalam Gerakan feminisme sosialis, penindasan terhadap perempuan di dunia kerja merajalela perlahan-lahan berkurang dengan adanya pemberdayaan perempuan di sektor sosial dan ekonomi. Nasi boran merupakan makanan tradisional Lamongan, Jawa Timur, yang telah menjadi sebuah komoditas. Keunikan dari komoditas ini ialah penjualan nasi boran hanya dilakukan oleh perempuan di Lamongan, Jawa Timur yang tidak dapat ditemukan di daerah lain. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendiskusikan pemberdayaan perempuan dan aspek kesetaraan gender dalam penjualan nasi boran di Lamongan. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif deskriptif dan pendekatan fenomenologi. Data yang diambil dalam penelitian ini berasal dari hasil wawancara dengan penjual nasi boran di Lamongan. Hasil wawancara penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa penjual nasi boran tidak keberatan menjadi salah satu pendukung ekonomi keluarga. Upaya pemberdayaan perempuan ini terdapat pada paguyuban yang menaungi para penjual nasi boran di Lamongan, dan penyerahan tanggung jawab penjualan nasi boran sepenuhnya kepada perempuan. Hal ini mencerminkan bahwa perempuan dan laki-laki memiliki perannya masing-masing, dan keterampilan yang dimiliki masing-masing memiliki manfaat yang sama. Kerajinan cor kuningan merupakan produk seni kriya yang memiliki nilai estetika dan nilai ekonomis bagi masyarakat yang menggeluti seni kerajinan tersebut. Peran kerajinan cor kuningan, selain memiliki nilai seni yang tinggi juga memberikan manfaat ekonomis bagi para pengrajin kerajinan tersebut. Saat ini terdapat berbagai wilayah di Indonesia yang terkenal dengan industri kerajinan cor kuningan, salah satunya adalah Desa Bejijong, Kecamatan Trowulan, Kabupaten Mojokerto. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui bagaimana kerajinan cor kuningan menjadi identitas budaya masyarakat Desa Bejijong, Kecamatan Trowulan, Kabupaten Mojokerto. Dalam penelitian ini para peneliti menggunakan paradigma ilmu ideografis dan menggunakan metodologi kajian budaya. Dalam mengumpulkan data peneliti menggunakan metode lapangan, yaitu studi kasus dalam hal ini adalah kerajinan cor kuningan di Desa Bejijong, Kecamatan Trowulan, Kabupaten Mojokerto. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah teknik observasi, teknik wawancara, teknik dokumen, dan teknik triangulasi. Metode analisis yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode kualitatif interpretatif dan menggunakan model analisis berupa analisis historis untuk menganalisis sejarah dan perkembangan kerajinan cor kuningan di Desa Bejijong dan analisis kajian budaya untuk menganalisis peran kerajinan cor kuningan sebagai identitas masyarakat Desa Bejijong. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa kerajinan cor kuningan dapat menjadi idnetitas budaya Desa Bejijong, oleh karena adanya proses konstruksi sosial yang dilaksanakan oleh para pelaku dalam industri kerajinan cor kuningan dalam membentuk identitas kultural pada desa tersebut.

Colonialism has left deep wounds on various aspects of Indonesian life, one of them is the cultural aspect. The large number of Cultural Heritag which taken by colonial nations out of Indonesia is a form of crime towards the cultural heritage of the Indonesian Nation that occurred in the past. In the postcolonial era, the Indonesian government carried out repatriation to returning the cultural heritage that belongingthe Indonesian nation back to Indonesia. This research aims to determine the repatriation of statues from Singhasari Temple and efforts to preserve cultural heritage in Indonesia in the postcolonial era. The research method used in this research is a field research method, namely a case study and uses data collection techniques, namely triangulation techniques. This research uses interpretive qualitative research methods and uses a cultural studies analysis model, as well as using postcolonial theory. The results of this research are that the repatriation carried out by the Indonesian Government of the statues from Singhasari Temple is a strategic step in efforts to preserve cultural heritage and promote culture in Indonesia in the postcolonial era.Kolonialisme telah menorehkan luka mendalam pada berbagai aspek kehidupan Bangsa Indonesia, salah satunya adalah aspek kebudayaan. Banyaknya Cagar Budaya yang dibopong oleh bangsa penjajah keluar dari Indonesia merupakan salah satu bentuk tindak kejahatan terhadap warisan budaya Bangsa Indonesia yang terjadi di masa lampau. Pada era poskolonial Pemerintah Indonesia telah melakukan repatriasi untuk memulangkan kembali Cagar Budaya milik Bangsa Indonesia untuk kembali ke Negara Indonesia. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui repatriasi arca-arca peninggalan Candi Singhasari dan upaya pelestarian Cagar Budaya di Indonesia pada era poskolonial. Metode penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode penelitian lapangan, yaitu studi kasus dan menggunakan teknik pengumpulan data, yaitu teknik triangulasi. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian kualitatif interpretatif dan menggunakan model analisis kajian budaya, serta menggunakan teori poskolonial. Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah bahwa repatriasi yang dilakukan oleh Pemerintah Indonesia atas arca-arca peninggalan Candi Singhasari merupakan sebuah langkah strategis dalam upaya pelestarian Cagar Budaya dan pemajuan kebudayaan di Indonesia pada era poskolonial.

Batik is a form of cultural expression which can express the cultural identity in Indonesia, such as in Balikpapan city. The initiative of Balikpapan City's government to showcase the cultural identity pursued through the local batik motifs produced by the local artisans, one of them is the Kelubut batik motif. Beyond its application on batik fabrics, where it is commonly featured in traditional attire, the Kelubut motif has been embraced in various public spaces and infrastructures. Therefore, this study analyzed how Kelubut batik motifs are constructed as cultural identities of Balikpapan City through the local artisans perspectives. This study employs Foucauldian discourse analysis (FDA) theory to examine the process of discourse construction in shaping the cultural identity. This study used a qualitative method. The data collection technique was interview and observations. This study found that the discourse in constructing the cultural identity through this motif is carried out through various means, such as through the philosophical values present in the embedded motifs, use of motifs in traditional cloth, use in governmental events, use in training for batik artisans, use in school uniforms, and infrastructure decoration. The identity that is created as a product of that culture is continuously developed along with the policies carried out by the government. Therefore, the findings provide new insights into how policies can construct a cultural identity in a city.

Wedding organizer who has been arranged in the role of organizing a meet and greet event are very important. It showed up from a cultural power and cultural negotiations that are owned between wedding organizer and the couple's family. So, the objectives of this research are 1) Explaining the form of power that can be exercised by the wedding organizer in the success of temu manten event and 2) Explaining the form of negotiation with cultural context that can be done by the Surabaya public to the wedding organizer. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative. The results of the study found that 1) there is a form of power relations of the wedding organizer for temu manten event; a) Holding events/exhibitions for promotional events, b) Coordinating between the wedding organizer and the couple's family in depth, c) Preparing human resources from the wedding organizer by forming a committee, d) The wedding organizer must have flexibility and be able to adapt to the couple's family, and e) As an intercultural link from families with different cultural backgrounds. In addition, 2) there is a form of cultural context negotiation by the wedding organizer for temu manten event; a) Negotiating with a specific cultural approach, b) Conducting communication in rotation, c) Conducting negotiations based on consensus, and d) Giving appreciation to experts/professionals from the wedding organizer. So, the presence of forms of power and negotiations that arise, temu manten event is able to run as expected.

Kawasan Cagar Budaya Nasional Trowulan merupakan kawasan konservasi Cagar Budaya yang berada di dua Kabupaten, yaitu Kabupaten Mojokerto dan Kabupaten Jombang yang saat ini menjadi kawasan konservasi Cagar Budaya yang dilindungi oleh Pemerintah Indonesia. Selama ini masyarakat luas mengenal kawasan tersebut sebagai kawasan bekas Ibu Kota Kerajaan Majapahit, padahal tinggalan arkeologi yang terdapat di kawasan tersebut menunjukkan bahwa peradaban yang pernah menghuni kawasan tersebut tidak hanya merupakan tinggalan dari masa Majapahit, namun juga terdapat peradaban lain yang lebih tua usianya. Perkembangan Kawasan Cagar Budaya Nasional Trowulan pasca Majapahit juga memiliki dinamika yang cukup dramatis, namun kawasan tersebut tetap mempertahankan identitasnya sebagai kawasan yang menyimpan sisi historis yang sangat menarik untuk dikaji. Penelitian ini akan membahas mengenai bagaimana perkembangan Kawasan Cagar Budaya Nasional Trowulan dari aspek historis mulai masa klasik hingga pasca reformasi. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif dengan menggunakan metode penelitian sejarah yang melalui empat tahap penelitian, yaitu heuristik, kritik sumber, interpretasi, dan historiografi. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa Kawasan Cagar Budaya Nasional Trowulan telah dihuni oleh berbagai peradaban manusia sejak abad ke-10 masehi sampai pasca reformasi yang memiliki andil dalam membentuk kebudayaan yang ada di kawasan tersebut.Kata kunci: Kawasan Cagar Budaya Nasional, Trowulan, Majapahit
