Abstract

The feedback review column on the TripAdvisor website can process the sentiment analysis by classifying the positive and negative impressions of the consumer using machine learning, namely text mining. This study analyzes consumer sentiment for hotel products and services in Labuan Bajo based on feedback review data on the TripAdvisor website. Meanwhile, the algorithm used is Nave Bayes Classifier (NBC), Support Vector Machine (SVM), also SMOTE Upsampling for the k-Nearest Neighbor (k-NN) algorithm. The classification result shows 702 negative feedback reviews and 2531 positive feedback reviews. The evaluation of algorithm performance shows the accuracy of SVM is 78,30% and NBC is 78,29% compared with k-NN with 85,24% accuracy, using SMOTE Upsampling with a class precision description of 100% prediction negative (1784 true Neg & 0 true Pos) and 77,21% prediction positive (747 true Neg & 2531 true Pos). The class recall description also shows 70,49% true Negative (1784 pred Neg & 747 pred Pos) and 100% true Positive (0 pred Neg & 2531 pred Pos). These findings indicate that the k-NN algorithm shows the best result instead of the SVM and NBC algorithm, according to the sentiment analysis result of customer feedback reviews on hotel products and services in Labuan Bajo through TripAdvisor website.

Abstract

The analysis and design of the regional tourism information system known as SIPARDA is a follow-up to the results of the strategic planning of the information system to optimize the performance of the bureaucracy, especially the Tourism Office of Morotai Island Regency, related to the main tasks and functions of the destination and tourism industry, tourism marketing, and creative economy. SIPARDA's design was carried out using the concept of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) through a waterfall approach. The application design method begins with identifying user needs and designing a tourism information system relevant to the main tasks and functions of the Tourism Office in the Morotai Island Regency. Unified Modeling Language (UML) is used to describe the business processes of SIPARDA. Five primary actors can operationalize the system: the head of the tourism officer, tourism industry and destination department, tourism marketing department, creative economy department, and administrator. Thus, each department can document attractions, amenities, accessibility, and accommodation data in the Morotai Island Regency as a regional tourism development decision-making database.

Abstract

This study analyzes the vegetation index and mangrove forest utilization through ecotourism development in Guraping and Dodola Island of North Maluku Province. This research uses a remote sensing approach through Landsat 8 Operational Land Immaginer (OLI) from 2013 and 2021, calculated based on the Normalized Difference Vegetation (NDVI) algorithms. This study indicates that ecotourism development can preserve the mangrove forest and generate the economic and social benefit of the local community. Otherwise, the vegetation index in mangrove areas from 2013-2021 needs to be considered seriously as the primary data to optimize the management of tourism destinations. Through the case of Dodola Island, the increased number of vegetation in 2017 experienced significant changes and threatened the sustainability of mangrove ecotourism. Thus, the mangrove monitoring needs to be optimized to anticipate the unsustainability of mangroves, which determines the sustainability of tourism in North Maluku Province. This study offers an idea to involve the local community in conserving the mangrove area through a controlled and sustainable rehabilitation program instead of economic activity purposes. The findings indicate that the existing condition of the Guraping mangrove forest in 2021 is classified as moderate compared with mangrove ecotourism in Dodola Island with sparse criteria based on the Decree of the Minister of State for the Environment in 2004, This research suggests adopting the community-based ecotourism mangrove development through collaborative advantages of all tourism stakeholders.

Abstract

Social entrepreneurship is an alternative approach to improving social welfare through community empowerment programs. In the Indonesian context, Yayasan Cinta Anak Bangsa (YCAB) and Cinderella Indonesia Foundation (CIF) have essential roles in improving marginalized communities' social welfare. Considering this, it is necessary to conduct a comprehensive study of institutional and leadership dimensions related to the social entrepreneurship approach. This research uses qualitative methods through a case study approach. Data was collected through in-depth interviews with key informants, namely the initiators or founders of YCAB and CIF. Document studies were conducted to understand the organizational profiles. Furthermore, the processing of research data uses triangulation techniques to obtain credible and valid information so that it can be used to reconstruct research thinking ideas related to community and social development from an institutional and leadership perspective in the field of social entrepreneurship. These research findings indicate that Yayasan Cinta Anak Bangsa (YCAB) and Cinderella from Indonesia Center have established partnerships with various parties for collaborative advantages. Thus, Social enterprise plays a vital role in community development and mobilizes the capabilities to maintain livelihoods and improve social welfare.

Abstract

This study empirically examines the antecedents of the intention to become a social entrepreneur by undergraduate students in Indonesia using the theory of planned behavior (TPB) framework. In TPB, the intention of a planned choice or desire is predicted to result from perceived attractiveness, subjective norms, self-efficacy, and personal attitudes. A total of 116 undergraduate students were recruited as respondents in this study, and primary data obtained from respondents were analyzed using structural equation modeling to test the four research hypotheses. This study revealed that the dimensions of perceived attractiveness, subjective norms, self-efficacy, and personal attitude of undergraduate students positively and significantly shaped students' intentions to become social entrepreneurs. Thus, the results of this study provide new understanding and knowledge about the antecedents to becoming a social entrepreneur.

Abstract

A sentiment analysis is needed to identify tourist preferences for products and services in a tourist destination. Therefore, this study uses the Cross-Industry Standard Procedure for Data Mining (CRISP-DM) method to classify visitor review data for Komodo Island and Rinca Island obtained from the Tripadvisor website based on negative and positive sentiments, then recommends the development of an information system that can optimize the products and services of tourist destinations on Komodo Island and Rinca Island. Meanwhile, the algorithms used are k-Nearest Neighbor (k-NN), Naïve Bayes Classifier (NBC), Support Vector Machine (SVM), and Decision Tree (DT). Based on the results of data classification using the word weighting method or Term Frequency Inverse Document Frequency (TF-IDF) through the sentiment extract operator, it can be known that the five words that most often appear in tourist reviews of Komodo Island are as follows: Komodo dragons (1894), dragons (1596), island (1492), tour (840), boat (774). Meanwhile, the five words that most often appear in tourist reviews of Rinca Island are as follows: komodo dragon (1042), dragons (962), island (882), rinca (606), and boat (372). In addition, the results of the classification of 564 Komodo Island tourist review data and 364 Rinca Island tourist review data using CRISP-DM-based k-NN, NBC, SVM, and DT algorithms, show that the Support Vector Machine (SVM) is the best-performing algorithm where the accuracy value is 99.69%, precision 100%, recall 99.39%, f-measure 99.69%, Area Under Curve (AUC) 100% and t-Test 0.958. Meanwhile, the results of processing tourist review data on Rinca Island products and services show that the Support Vector Machine (SVM) algorithm has the best performance with 100% accuracy, 100% precision, 100% recall, 100% f-measure, 100% Area Under Curve (AUC) and 0.964 t-Test. After comparing the performance of SVM before and after using the Synthetic Minority Oversampling Technique (SMOTE), it can be seen that the implementation of the algorithm becomes more optimal when using the SMOTE operator. Thus, SVM is a relevant algorithm used as a model for analyzing tourist sentiment on Komodo Island and Rinca Island based on CRISP-DM.
