Abstract

Financial management issues among university students often arise due to limited financial literacy, weak self-control, and a social environment that does not fully support healthy financial behavior. This becomes even more crucial for KIP-K scholarship recipients, who are required to manage their educational aid funds wisely and in accordance with Islamic principles. This study aims to examine the influence of Islamic financial literacy, mental accounting, and subjective norm on the financial management behavior of Muslim students receiving the KIP-K scholarship at the Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Negeri Surabaya, with Locus of control as a mediating variable. A quantitative approach was employed, involving 256 respondents and analyzed using the SEM-PLS method. The results indicate that all independent variables have a positive and significant effect on both financial management behavior and Locus of control. Furthermore, Locus of control significantly mediates the relationship between the three independent variables and financial behavior. These findings suggest that Muslim KIP-K scholarship recipients at FEB UNESA tend to demonstrate sound financial management behavior, characterized by careful financial planning, strong self-control, and adherence to Islamic financial principles.

Abstract

The growing workforce population in Indonesia has led to an increase in job seekers. However, the ratio between the workforce and available jobs shows that the workforce is larger, resulting in unemployment. When an individual is unemployed, they cannot fully meet their needs, which leads to a decline in welfare. One way to tackle the problem of unemployment is to encourage people to become entrepreneurs and provide financing to MSMEs (Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises). It is hoped that with financing, MSMEs can improve their welfare. This research is a descriptive qualitative study that examines BPRS Financing in Improving the Welfare of MSMEs with the welfare indicator being maqashid sharia (Religion, Soul, Mind, Progeny, and Wealth). The results of this study show an increase in the welfare of MSME customers after receiving financing from BPRS. Keywords: Financing, MSMEs, Sharia objectives

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of income, discounts, and cashback on the Islamic consumption behavior of pesantren graduate students who use cashless payment systems in Surabaya. The background of this research arises from the growing use of digital payment methods, which may influence students’ consumption patterns. The study employs a quan-titative method with an explanatory research approach and purposive sampling technique involving 179 pesantren graduate respondents. Data were analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) based on Partial Least Squares (PLS) with SmartPLS software. The results reveal that income and discounts have a positive and significant effect on Islamic consumption behavior, while cashback has no significant effect. These findings indicate that pesantren graduates maintain prudence and simplicity in financial transactions, particularly regarding cashback forms that are non-cashable and potentially contain elements of gharar (uncertainty). Overall, this study highlights the importance of designing digital promotions that comply with Islamic principles of transparency, fairness, and halal transactions in today’s cashless era.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of products, social media marketing, consumer characteristics, and Islamic consumption behavior on impulsive purchases of fashion products using Pay Later. The widespread use of Pay Later and the lack of research linking impulsive purchases with Islamic consumption perspectives form the basis of this study. This study uses a quantitative method with an associative approach. The sample was taken using purposive sampling from Generation Z respondents in Surabaya who had made fashion product transactions using Pay Later. Primary data were collected through questionnaires and analyzed using Partial Least Square–Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM). The results showed that social media marketing and consumer characteristics had a significant positive influence on impulsive buying. Conversely, Islamic consumption behavior has a significant negative effect on impulsive buying, indicating its role as self-control. The product variable was found to have no significant effect on impulsive buying. These findings indicate that consumer characteristics as internal factors are the main drivers, while Islamic consumption behavior as an understanding of Islamic values is the main inhibitor of impulsive buying in this digital era.

Abstract

Innovations in digital applications such as Islamic mobile banking offer convenience and efficiency in conducting financial transactions. However, the presence of this technology has also given rise to various risk perceptions among the public. Therefore, it is necessary to understand the factors that influence customers’ intention to use Islamic mobile banking applications. This study aims  to analyze  the impact of several variables, namely perceived ease of use, perceived benefits, social and financial services, and perceived risk on intention to use Islamic mobile banking applications. Quantitative methods were used as the approach in this study. Primary data were collected from 264 respondents selected through purposive sampling using a questionnaire. To analyze the data, the Structural Equation Modeling Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS) method was used. The results showed that perceived ease of use, perceived benefits, and social and financial services had a positive and significant impact on intention to use Islamic mobile banking application. However, unlike other variables, perceived risk was found to have no significant influence on intention to use the application.

Abstract

Technological and internet developments in the economic field have had an impact on buying and selling activities. Currently, consumption activities can be carried out anywhere in real time through live streaming. The purpose of this study is to analyze the influence of live streaming, lifestyle, religiosity, and income on the consumption behavior of Generation Z Muslims in the city of Surabaya. The research method used is quantitative with primary data sources obtained through the distribution of online questionnaires. Sampling was conducted using purposive sampling with 241 respondents. Data analysis techniques used structural equation modeling-partial least squares (SEM-PLS) on SmartPLS 4.1 software. The data analysis model used an outer model, inner model, model fit evaluation, and hypothesis testing. The results showed that there was a significant positive influence of live streaming, religiosity, and income on Islamic consumption behavior, while lifestyle did not have a significant positive influence on Islamic consumption behavior. This indicates that the rise of live streaming shopping does not cause Generation Z to shop solely based on desire and that they continue to practice Islamic consumption behavior.
